Well my FIL was released from the hospital today. He was supposed to go home yesterday but his Family doctor wanted to see how he reacted to the Chemo yesterday so an extra day at the hospital was a good thing. While the doc was in there yesterday morning he my FIL and my wife discussed him going home. The doc thought it best if he went to rehab and explained to my FIL what an ordeal it would be for Glendia to try and take care of him. Glendia and Valerie (our oldest and an RN) went rehab shopping today and he ended up in the same facility that my parents are in just a different wing. I called the women and to see if they wanted to go out and eat and all agreed that would be nice. About an hour later they called me and said to go without them as Glen (FIL) was having trouble peeing. So I do not know as of yet what is happening with him but the bacon wrapped steak was excellent and my grandson, son in-law and his mother had a very nice meal also.

Jim This incident he told me was a domestic dispute that got out of hand. The guy initiated it and they had to land at another airport to escort the fool off the plane:rolleyes::eek::mad:---she went on from there:) I've only seen summat once in all the time I went flying. That was a typical drunk who got into a hoohaw with another passenger. The crew were pretty quick in dealing with the nut---:)

Progress delays!

Hydrocal arrived! Should be enough for a couple of layouts:rolleyes:.
My WS green turf stuff for the trees probably won't get here until Saturday's mail. Can't do a thing until I get the back part finished and then work my way out. Rats!

Hi Rex,

Glad to hear your Hydrocall arrived, guess that should hold you for quite some time! :D Btw, it does go quite a ways and doesn't require too much to be used to give you a pretty firm shell unless you feel the need to literaly climb up on it depending on the support structure of course.

It's a bit of a bummer when things don't go as planned, I know. I grant you that doing the background area first is probably the prefered method and the simpler way to do it but in my case, and I'm probably doing things backwards,
I'm having to get the front areas at least partially done so I can tie things together. It may be poor planning on my part but then again as I go along I see changes/additions that can be included and so..

I'd say do whatever you can for now, a pictfure or two would be great too.

Time for me to get to work on jmy olayout.

Oh, the temp here is again down to about freezing at 34* at 6:00Pm
Take care,

Evening gang!
Flo, howabout a nice T-Bone steak, baked potato and some asparagus.
Go ahead and put it on Chris's tab, as he is obviously dilusional and wont know the difference. Poor chap has been riding that mower so long, I'm afraid he is suffering from sunstroke!

Matt, don't worry about any cleaning chores. There are child labor laws, hide behind them while you still can! :D

Larry Sorry to hear about the woes of your FIL. I can relate, now that my parents are 85. Dad confined to a wheelchair with memory issues, and Mom now in a separate facility, delusional, confused and incontinent. The only good thing, is that for the 1st time in 48 years, my sisters and I can finally work together on things.
Also the packrat thing? When my Dad was 1st put in professional care, it became MY job to clean out his garage. 2350 pounds of scrap steel later, I got 85 bucks from the local junkyard, then I turned in enough aluminum and copper to net another 235 bucks out of it. Took me a week to find, separate, and dispose of all of it!
Now my kids wonder why I don't save scraps from projects. I just tell em, you don't know how much work I am saving you in years to come!

Terry Want a cheap way to find leaks? Start your motorhome, turn the ac or heat on full blast, but be sure it is taking in outside air. (easy way to pressurize the cabin) Spray all the suspect areas with foaming window cleaner. It catches bubbles of air escaping better than plain soapy water. Big bubbles mark your leaks! I used to do it all the time, back in the day when Camaros had t-tops and every damn one of em leaked!!!

Ohh Chris!! There is a guy in a white lab coat, standing out front next to a short bus with bars over the windows, and he is showing everyone passing by a photo of you and asking if anyone has seen you. I told him that the picture surely shows a maniacal deficient, and then I wished him luck in the capture...............better slide out the back door later!!:p:p:p:rolleyes::D

Good evening folks.

Due to the winter pounding we are about to receive, we are currently going into contingency mode for Christmas. We will abandon festivities with the extended family until further notice. Kind of a bummer to tell you the truth. This is the first year that we will have to postpone Christmas. Nobody feels like driving in this crap. I guess we'll see just how much snow we get.

I don't have to work tomorrow, so I may just sit around and do my own thing. That doesn't sound too shabby after all.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Jim, if you do run into anything you can't solve on your motor home, I am on an RV forum called www.irv2.com.
I'm off to shop for more presents... See all y'all later.

Good morning folks

It was 25 F as I headed out onto the not so crowded roads this morning. I wish every commute was this easy. High will be 36 F.

We went to Longwood Gardens’ Holiday Display last night. It is always good to see the gardens decorated with lights in the snow. We also toured the Conservatory and the Christmas displays that are set up in the there.

It looks like tomorrow will be one of those weather days. We could have freezing rain which eventually turns into all rain. Good thing we do not have anywhere to go. We were thinking of going to the movies and seeing Sherlock Holmes but I guess we will wait and see.

I hope everybody has a good day and a Merry Christmas!

Good morning. It's 66 and raining. 66 will remain as the high today as showers and thunderstorms make their presence felt.

The thunder was so intense this morning that books, DVD's and videotapes were being shaken off the shelves. A look at the layout showed that a couple of cars had wheels off the tracks. That's happened only a couple of times in the last 20 years. The only place near here that this happens more frequently is the Museum of West Louisiana where the vibration of trains passing by derails cars on the static HO display of the old KCS roundhouse. In fact, over the years the vibration has caused damage to the model roundhouse. The storms have passed for now though I expect more. We're under a tornado watch until 1 pm and the probability of rain is 80%. In other words, it's gonna be a very wet day. There's plenty of stuff to be cleared from the layout should I find the energy and time to do it. I also have some shelves that need attention.

Merry Christmas Folks.

I guess Christmas is back on around here. Did the weather forecast change, hell no! We just decided to be merry and risks our lives for a few presents and good cheer. Well, we didn't, the rest of my family did. I guess it will be better than canceling Christmas all together.:(

I hope everyone has a good day.

If it wasn't fer the grankids Christmas would be just another day they make it more fun than than it has been in many many years.

CHRIS: Not Karl! Santa was laughing at YOU!:D:p

Larry: (Bah Humbug!) No matter how hard I try not to, I am starting to agree with you. One of the problems is the Grandkids are ten hours away in Houston. No little ones will be around here tomorrow except for my Grand Niece's 1 year old. I know, I know, not the true meaning...well, it does have a lot to do with it. Ah well, I have plenty of good memories but sometimes even they hurt to think about. ;):)

Jim: You getting all this high wind. Man-o-man it is gusty today. Won't be long before that cold front moves in with those nastys. Typical Alabama weather....moisture=50-60 temps...moisture leaves....freezing temps and no snow, all less than 24 hours :(.

Hello all, and good afternoon from Coarsegold,

Yes, Christmas Eve has rolled around again but with all that's going on in this crazy world and nation it just doesn't seem like Christmas.

Last night and early this morning was very cold as I saw the temp drop to 28* and things got pretty FROSTY out here.

Corey, I think you made a wise choice to stay off weather laden highways, like you said no sense in taken even more chances in making the trip not only going but it's comming back too

Rex, it seems that as we get older the comfort of our homes is where we like to be for the most part and if your facing bad weather in traveling that even makes it worse..

As things wind down for the year and looking through a post about hobby supply dealers on the web I'm giving thought to once again getting Foothill Station MRR supplies going
as I seem to have a more complete supply source than most others I looked at bar a few but I also have supply items most don't seem to offer as well as my own items too.

May you each have a Very Joyous and Merry Christmas and the Best in the New Year!!
