Morning all,

75° and sunny with a record high of 92° expected later.

Ran to Hallmark this morning to get the last of this year's Lionel Christmas ornaments. I have all the series engiines, the limited edition engines, the rolling stock and some of the miniatures and other bits. Hard to believe there are that many engines as this was 29th in the annual series. Today was this year's limited edition.

Got to pick tomatoes and peppers in a bit.

A fantastic collection Patrick! I have never seen them all in one place. I have a few that were special to me Chessie, GG1 and a few others. If you ever have time I would enjoy seeing photos of them. I would especially enjoy it if you posted them in my Christmas Trees, Trains and More thread or create your own. Hallmark's Lionel Christmas Ornaments are worthy of their own thread in my mind.

Speaking of Christmas, I saw two houses early Wednesday morning with Christmas lights and decorations. That is too early even for me, but I did enjoy seeing them. Holiday decorations brighten the dark hours for me. But I only expect to see Halloween decorations at this time of year.

Santa arriving at the end of the Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off the Christmas season for me. The first Sunday of Advent is the official start of Christmas in my mind.

We should give the Turkey his day, he does make the ultimate sacrifice for us.

Since golf is almost over for me this year, I decided to start work on some shelve-displays from trackage of the upper deck I recently took apart. They'll fit on a 12 inch wide shelve. Here's a photo of how's it's going so far.

In the "kick 'em while they're down" department, I am experiencing a repeat of last year's lab test billing debacle. They submitted bills for my lab tests incorrectly, the insurance company rightfully refused to pay, and now the lab company is trying to get me to pay a grand for the tests. Exactly like last year.

I’m up. Still in Springfield OH.

5:20 am local

Killing time until Dunkin’ Donuts opens and I can get real coffee. Then fill the tank with petrol, and make the 3-hour drive back home.

Convention was good. I had fun, but my feet are tired after 12+ hours a day on a concrete floor

Good morning. It's clear-ish and 67 where I am, and 68 where I should be. I now have a guess-timate on time for power to be brought back online. October 17th, give or take a couple of days. After that, they'll see how long for the water, both fresh and waste. I consider myself fortunate, since I have a place to eventually return to. There are many that don't, and many that are stuck in shelters until they can get back to their homes.

Good morning from the heavy fog somewhere in So Central Wi. It’s 45f degrees heading to a balmy high of 57 with rain. The no rains till after midnight yesterday actually showed up between 5 and 7pm. Just under a 1/2” of the badly needed rain in the collection beaker.

I need to go through my final checklist and take photos of the weathering project making sure it’s done. Then off to the client for approval. A fun project that started off when I felt my worst healthwise. The S-2 diesel weathering really made me concentrate and it helped bring the spirit back. I’m sure forum member Marlin39 will enjoy them. I appreciate Dave your patience as we muddled through your project…

We took the granddaughter to the Badger Women’s hockey game at 2pm yesterday. 2800 crazies cheering on the #1 Badgers against #3 UM-Duluth was a much tighter game then the 5-1 Badger winning score. The only thing that really bothered the G/D was the puck hitting the glass in front of her and sometimes the crowd noise. She didn’t need her headphones though and seemed to get into the game. Terry and I head back to campus for a 2pm rematch today.

Am I ready for tomorrow’s road tripping? Yes and no. The 2 carry on cases we use are in the bedroom, mine has not been opened. Terry’s is already full, which means she’ll want space in mine.

Be well, be safe

Gulf Shores AL, it's 57° and clear. Trip yesterday was uneventful. I stopped in Gulfport MS for a return visit to the Traintastic model railroad museum there. I took many pictures, but the camera is in the car and my wife is off to buy coffee, donuts and groceries over in Orange Beach about 15 miles over, on the Florida border. Last fall when I visited, they were still in the process of moving in from their old location and some displays were not complete. They are all there now, although I was told that not all were set up due to room constraints. Their original G scale outdoor layout is boxed up and in storage, as is some HO scale stuff. There are some disappointments. Since they make a lot of their operating expenses from hosting children's events, they have a gymnasium-sized area devoted to kids stuff. Not of any interest to me. I was also disappointed to find some poorly maintained layout areas, pictures when I get the camera back.
Enough of that. We planned this trip to overlap with the "Shrimpfest" here in Gulf Shores. Lots of food and souvenir vendors, and a live concert last night. It was an unknown band that did mostly Cajun and country tunes. They weren't bad, but I wasn't that close since I didn't bring my hearing protection. I have to try to save what little that I have left.
Supper last night was at a place called Big Fish. We ate there about 3 or 4 years ago. I had Shrimp Alfredo while my wife had Sushi. They had Halibut as the catch of the day, but at $60, I passed. And that was with no sides!

Tom O - Have a safe trip.
Louis -There's already Christmas lights and decorations up back home!
Troy - You also have a safe trip.

Today is National No Bra Day. I celebrate it every day. Today is also the US Navy's birthday. Lots of other birthday's today, Sammy Hagar, Paul Simon, Dallas Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones, football great Jerry Rice and bartender AOC.

Everybody have a great Sunday.

good morning all!

Its a cool 57 degrees with only reaching 65 degrees today. This is going to be a short lived cool down, temps are supposed to rebound mid to late week back in the 70s.

Today is pool closing day. I usually do it 2nd or 3rd week of September, but the last few weekends had something going. The rest of the patio furniture, hose reels, etc. are already stored.

Have a great Sunday everyone!
