I posted earlier that I visited Traintastic yesterday, formerly known as the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum in Gulfport Mississippi. The visit yesterday started with a display outside the front door; a blatant advertisement, although there was no sign showing who had it there.

The first layout that is seen in the lobby, is one commissioned by a major benefactor to the museum, the local Dominoes Pizza owner. It is an O scale layout with a lot of animation. The first two shots are new this year, a lake with a fishing boat with a dolphin that has been hooked. They move together around a loop in the lake.

Another scene has a horse training facility in it.

The two horses on the left center, run circles around that mound. The brown horse on the right runs around and jumps over the fences.
Then there are the Mardi Gras floats.

An air museum is also there and a model of the museum itself.

Then there is the gymnastics center with a half dozen animated characters.

These are all modeled after real locations in and around the Gulfport area. I didn't take pictures of stuff like the Dominoes Pizza or the Air Base that I posted last fall.
More later.

Good afternoon gang!

Slept in late, starting my week of stay-cation, just made it to the basement. #4 just came home for fall break from college. Wife and I plan on some day trips this week since he will be here to care for the dogs.

Good morning. It's clear-ish and 67 where I am, and 68 where I should be. I now have a guess-timate on time for power to be brought back online. October 17th, give or take a couple of days. After that, they'll see how long for the water, both fresh and waste. I consider myself fortunate, since I have a place to eventually return to. There are many that don't, and many that are stuck in shelters until they can get back to their homes.
Any word on how the homestead fared in the storm ?

Timonium GSMTS open today from 10am till 3pm.
Catching some b'fast at iHop before heading down to the venue.

Have fun! Even though it's only a 40 minute drive, I've stopped going after 30+ years as an attendee and an exhibitor. Lots of good stuff to look at, but most of the vendors want msrp or better for their wares, Very few real bargains out there anymore. I guess I'm just a jaded old tight wad.

Time for NAPCAR

Afternoon all,

Currently a pleasant 74° and sunny. Windows open until the AC kicks in.

Busy finding things to do. I have yet to do train stuff since this surgery, but just haven't gone downstairs for that. I have done laundry though...

Gotta watch as temps at this point expected to get into the upper 30's for lows by middle of the week. May affect the remaining tomatoes and peppers.

Someone that's kept in the dark and fed crap...
Right as I read this, Adam Savage on a video described how the Mythbuster's show would look for Mushroom people as experts on a given topic:

A person with a strong foundation and depth of knowledge on the topic, but with wide-ranging interests that help them add context and depth to their discussion.

as opposed to an Expert with limited outside knowledge than their one speciality.

Good afternoon all!

Finished up closing putting away the pool for the winter. The only other thing I want to do this year is vacuum out the filtrr sand and replace it next year. I'm on year 4 and I usually replace every 4 years. It was really a great day to be outside!

Much like Patrick the windows are all open as were getting a really nice north wind. It, but they will have to be closed after dinner as its going to be in the low 40s tonight. in the meantime there is a great breeze flowing thru the house.

Saw one of those F117 looking vehicles on the road when I was in downtown Boston. A quick look, didn't seem to have any
curved surfaces to the body panels. Perhaps to evade traffic radar.
