Good Halloween evening from Portsmouth Harbour where the Spinnaker Tower has been lit tonight in Pumpkin orange and I am driving the last train to Gatwick Airport...

Good evening everyone!

I ended up killing the porch light a few minutes early. we didn't have many come by the house as we have had in recent years. we had maybe 30 or so come by in the 2 hour window. At 6:30, I started giving out handfuls to start getting rid of it so it wasn't around here. Last trick or treater was a girl dressed to the hilt in a princess costume that I emptied the rest of the bowl in her bag. Here eyes got huge and she grinned like she hit a progressive slot machine. I figured better to have all that candy at her house than ours. Wife got 2 big multi bags from Amazon and we opened the bag earlier this week to pick a few of our favorites out.

Good morning all. (It is November 1st here) The other day we had three birthdays in the family (24th Oct), tomorrow (or is it today) two of our grandchildren will be having a birthday party at our house.

Time to close down. An early start in the morning.

I shut it down 3 minutes early at 7:57. At 7pm we had 80 trick or treaters come by. At 7:57 the total was 83. This is the least amount since we moved to Verona in 2014. The temperature at 5pm was 45 but the wind chill was 33. The wind was steady at 15 with gusts into the 30’s. The parents I talked to said the kids were fine but they were frozen (parents)

I will separate out the Milk Duds and Terry will hide the rest for my protection. The milk duds are now in my refrigerator in the train room
 
My count was also zero. I wasn't sure what to expect here. There are several families with children, but many of them evacuated, and haven't returned yet.
I now have a ten pound bag of candy I'm going to take to work for somebody else to get fat and sick from eating it.
