Sigh...
Yesterday I noticed a travel trailer was missing its spare tire, so I ordered a tire and wheel for it. Our parts dept is well aware we don't have any way to mount a tire on a wheel. So, this is what I got in response to my order. Bear in mind I ordered a tire and wheel together. I have no clue where the wheel is, or when/if it will show up:

I'd say bring it on over and I'll mount it for you once you get the wheel, but distance being what is is....................😐🙄

Afternoon all,

Had the roofers come back as they had a square of the wrong shingles on the roof. So before they showed, I mowed the lawn, weeded the garden, ran a couple of quick errands (including the class 4 certification for the roof to our insurer). The class 4 shingles were an upcharge that gets is about a 33% discount on our homeowners policy. Basically pays for itself in the second year, and continues on a decreasing basis for the next 30 years or so.
I scheduled 3 appointments, including setting the date for the knee replacement. July 18th is the date with lots to do before hand.

With the supposed issue of long-term consumption of that drug causing dementia
I take lyrica twice a day for nerve pain. Have been taking it for a few years now. I have been having issues with memory and forgetting what I was doing. If I start repeating myself, don't mind me as that's the cause. Doc just told me this week that he found out that lyrica may be the cause of my memory issues. I know that it does make me a bit loopy and now that I think about it, may have contributed greatly to my early retirement as I was having difficulty concentrating at work and starting to have panic attacks. I didn't take the lyrica for two days last week due to having to drive (Japan will reward you with 100% fault if in an accident while taking this stuff no matter what the other driver did) and the left hand started giving me shocks again. Doc said he'll keep me on this med but send me to a memory clinic for evaluation. I thought I was early onset dementia or alzheimers.

But on the good side, I am getting a lot of exercise as I go downstairs, forget why, go back upstairs, remember why, go back downstairs only to have forgotten to bring the tools, coffee cup, or whatever, go back, rinse and repeat.

Just got back from a week in San Antonio Texas… what struck me was almost constant 24/7 rail action…I was downtown near Broadway and W. Jones and the freight traffic was pretty much constant…day and night
Horns, wheels squealing…auto racks, tank cars, gondolas, covered hoppers and boxcars…
One day I saw a CN loco push-pulling in the middle of a long freight consist…
I didn’t get any pics as I was about 100 plus yards away… and the view was framed by the elevated expressway on top and buildings to the right and left…

Back in Toronto, i was in the Junction Thursday getting some food and saw lots of containers rolling on the CP line…but I left my phone in the car…
Today I went to my usual haunt…some scruffy covered hoppers…

Good morning, Everybody!

The Orioles' Japanese sensation, Tomoyuki Sugano, a master at the craft of pitching has proven to be the "stopper" for my Birds! He pitched a brilliant seven innings again last night. The Bird's bats did enough and our closer "the Mountain", Felix Bautista slammed the door!

They call Felix the Mountain because he is 6'8" - 285lbs. I got to love a guy who is my size! Well, I used to be his size, I'm shrinking. 😯

Orioles 4 - Angels 1

Don't count my Birds out yet. As Yogi said, "It aint over till it's over!"

Two long flat blade screw drivers and liquid soap will work, but it won't be easy. Let one of the young guys do it.
The young guys don't know how to do it, and refuse to learn. Until we moved to Cancerfornia in 2008, I had a manual tire machine, and could R&R a tire in about 5 minutes, if I took my time.
And yes, it was 2 feet of snow, uphill both ways to and from school...

I'm up.

Wife and I go see the daughter and her boyfriend later today. Combo of her birthday and mother's day. Plus we need to close out an old bank account down there we're not using.

I'm tired of being a morning person. I was in bed at 9p last night, and only lightly dozing at 3am. Made it to 4a before I was too awake to stay in bed longer.

It's like turning 60 last year made my body suddenly need naps again.

Now, my wife loves MacNCheese... and we have the Great American Mac N Cheese festival happening right here in the fort, the day after our anniversary. $40 for 6 tokens to spend getting Mac N Cheese from one of the vendors. Three soda tokens. You can purchase beer or extras as needed. Inside the local farm league B-ball team stadium (Parkview Field for the Tin Caps). It's the next day after our wedding anniversary.

And she said no. Too much money for Mac N Cheese.

Now I know which will win, her penny pinching or her love of Mac N Cheese.
