David I can't believe he just fly's over the 4ft fence without a problem.
Swal
We had a stray we took in when my wife and I first bought our house. She could leap amazingly high.
She would be able to get on the top shelf in the closet and she would sleep on the sweaters. She would
also jump from the kitchen floor onto the counter, then jump on the top of the refrigerator to the top cabinets.
She would be able to wind through all the knick-knacks and dishes that were displayed on the top cabinets
without ever knocking anything over.

Im not a cat person, but she was the sweetest cat and I would take another like her in a scecond!

I wonder if Pope Leo prefers New York, Detroit, or Chicago style pizza best.

I'd hazard a guess that it's Chicago style, but I could be mistaken. 😜
I don't know about Pope Leo XIV.

Pope Francis had a deep love for pizza, particularly simple, traditional Italian styles. He often spoke about his fondness for Roman-style pizza, which is typically thin and crispy. He also enjoyed Neapolitan pizza, known for its soft, chewy crust and fresh ingredients.

In fact, he once mentioned that he wished he could go out and eat pizza in a Roman pizzeria, rather than always having meals prepared for him in the Vatican. His love for pizza was part of his humble and relatable personality, making him even more endearing to people around the world.

I read that they had to add twenty-five men to the Swiss Guard because Pope Francis loved to slip out of the Vatican to be with the people.

You guys with cats got it easy! Sugar takes up a whole sofa!

We have one of those too! As you can see, I dont have a recliner anymore. She has claimed it as hers.

Our bed is a King. She takes up 3/4 of it at night, Wife and I get a small sliver on the sides.

Good morning, 66 here and sunny. Supposed to hit 77 today. Was planning on Attending a Cowboy Action Shooting match tomorrow but have been fighting a mild bug this week and am going to take it easy. Primered some HO stuff yesterday for a T-Trak module I will be building. Working on the first pot of coffee.
Wish Lady Dawn a Happy Birthday.

A White Sox fan!

John Prevost, the pope’s brother, clarified the confusion in an interview with WGN TV.

“He was never, ever a Cubs fan. So I don’t know where that came from. He was always a Sox fan,” Prevost said.
Saw the brother’s interview on TV this morning. Yep a Sox fan!

Unfortunately much of our current news being broadcast has not been fact checked before ir airs. We are living in a different world.

No matter, I hope he does well

Made a trip to the hobby store... I now have more cork than I have track for. I figure I'll work through two boxes of each and see how bad I'm lopsided on the supply of each before I get more of either.

The box cars were $10 each in the used bin. The Erie was still in shrinkwrap around the jewel case. No real wear on either. in fact, both were very clean.

Not sure how to interpret the blt date on the Erie 50 ft. Says "10-28"

Furniture would take up more room for its weight, so a larger car would be needed. 50' cars were not uncommon just before the Depression, but the downturn in business kept a lot of 40 footers around longer than they would have been otherwise.

Good afternoon, all! Well, the rain has passed, and the forecast is a beautiful Mother's Day and a few additional nice days before another front comes. As long has the humidity remains low, it will be nice. We are having a enjoyable visit with our son, and the entire family will stop by on Mom's Day.

David - Happy birthday wishes to Dawn
DeaconKC - Welcome

Not a lot of time for the train room as of late.

The grandson’s hockey team won in Eden Prairie, Minnesota this morning 7-6 in overtime. He scored 2 including the winner, his center scored 2 and his right wing had 3. They had no goals scored against their line. They had a 6-1 lead 1/2 way through the game when they ALWAYS switch goalies. The 2nd goalie’s dad is one of the coaches. The coaches asked for a parent meeting with the players after. He asked the parents to suggest to the players they try to play defense. The SIL sent me a recording he took! Told parents and players there are 7 kids who can skate like the wind and score during the regular season games. Those 7 have scored 6 total goals in 8 games and don’t skate back to play defense. One players mom said we were up 6-1 today and you put an inferior goalie in and we almost lost. Head coach replied to her, your son was on the ice for all 6 of the other teams goals. The asst coach said to his son the 2nd goalie, come on we are going home!

Youth athletics and parents! Wow

I wondered when wood boxcars went away... I've got a few, so they may get reorganized to my fantasy rail line on the lower deck.
There was a brief resurgence of wood/metal composite rolling stock during WWII due to a lack of steel for rail car construction. Many of them lasted well into the 1970s, though the most common I remember seeing were gons and hoppers.

Sigh...
Yesterday I noticed a travel trailer was missing its spare tire, so I ordered a tire and wheel for it. Our parts dept is well aware we don't have any way to mount a tire on a wheel. So, this is what I got in response to my order. Bear in mind I ordered a tire and wheel together. I have no clue where the wheel is, or when/if it will show up:
