Ah, reminds me of my instructor days. No swearing, politics, religion and use the chalkboard eraser in the up-down motion. Side to side was too provocative...
Morning all. Hope everybody is enjoying their coffee. Getting ready to go fix breakfast, and celebrate the second day of my 58th Birthday. (05-09-1967). William.
Happy Birthday
William. Haven't seen you here in a while. Don't be such a stranger.

You would think it would be the other way around!

53f and sunny, almost no wind. The trees are really greening up, and the birds out again in full force. We are headed for a high of 75.
Heading to a bible camp nearby to do some spring cleaning. It is Grindstone Lake in East central Minnesota, the lake is 170' deep but only about a half mile wide and 3 miles long, I bet there are some real sea monsters in that depth... we live about 6 miles away.
Menards run yesterday yielded us a raised bed apparatus for our garden area. That shopping wears me out more than splitting wood.
I will be running trains some this afternoon, everything on the layout seems to be working well. I also have a couple homesteader shacks to build. I filmed a video yesterday, will edit it at the library Tuesday, shows all the new scenes.
How many Dave's active on the forum? A lot. Do they even use the name anymore, one of those that went out of style

I have a PSA for anyone that hasn't updated their passwords or online security lately. The Book of Feces group I admin, I have been flooded with member requests from compromised accounts. Over the past month, there were at least 200 bogus requests, all from older accounts that haven't posted anything there in over two years.
At the very least, change your password from "password" or "1234" to something a little more original. You know who you are...
Good morning! Another gorgeous day in So. Central Wisconsin where it is 62 now, it was 55 at the 6am walking time and mid 70’s later.
We were informed yesterday the AirBnB we rented for the week surrounding 5/24 in Pasadena back in January is unavailable due to fire victims still staying there. Terry knew as the refund hit my credit card account around 2pm yesterday and the email came around 9. Not happy but knew it could happen but a couple weeks ago we were told no problems! Because the wedding is the 24th during the Memorial Day weekend the Holiday price gouging is in effect! I spoke to the little brother this morning before his golf starts and his AirB&B also cancelled on him but Wednesday this past week. We will find a place but $$$.
The grandson’s hockey team did win last night. The 2nd goalie and 2 of the defensemen left the team after the coach’s, parent and player meeting. The grandson played defense last night and the daughter said he did fine. When she played she played defense so she would know. Along with the grandson the other top scorer on the team played defense with Brooks.
A Farmers Market this morning looking for spinach and maybe a tomato. This will be the first year in maybe the last 30 Terry will not be gardening. We are gone the last 10 days in May and there is no set time when we will return in June.
Enjoy the day

I am not Dave, so you can count me out.

I'm a David.
Tom, I know about bat exclusion. I sold an exclusion job to a medical center that had bats entering through the automatic ADA doors at night. By law, the ADA doors have to remain open for 20 seconds. That's plenty of time for a bat to chase a flying insect in. During Covid the federal F&W determined that bats were a Covid vector so you couldn't just release them outside......the had to be "humanely" euthanized.
The bats were roosting on the South side under the roof cap. Like Texas, bats are a protected species in Oregon and exclusion work cannot be done until they have migrated out for the Winter. The facility finally redid their roof and I had all the bat guano remediation work from the contractor. Work would have to stop (OSHA rules) until I could get a tech to come out to remove the guano & sanitize the area.
Funny thing is that bats are not
federally protected.
I read recently how the Riverwalk is so over rated and dirty. Terry and I love the Riverwalk and have visited often and we never have been disappointed. The son had a job last year where his Crews were bat-proofing some of the bridges near the tracks where the Interstate was getting renewed. They had to safely keep the bats from returning so the highway workers could demo the bridges. Bats are a protected species in Texas. He said lots of UP trains there and the plan is in June he and I will do some train spotting there and meet the girls later on the Riverwalk.
My favorite spot in San Antonio was the Menger Bar. Enter on Crockett St. Tell the bartender Dave sent you.
Happy Birthday to David's wife and son.
Happy Birthday William.

I don't have an Apple Cloud!
This morning, I won 225 Pittsburg tool kit from 3 different sites. Must be my lucky day.
And yes, it was 2 feet of snow, uphill both ways to and from school...
Ahh, but did you have shoes?

Maybe you should run out and buy a lottery ticket to see if it continues!

I had snowshoes...
The young guys don't know how to do it, and refuse to learn.
Most mechanics I've known hate to do any tire work.
Back from 2 Farmers Markets.
Spinach was $10 per #
Asparagus was $7 per bunch
Rhubarb cleaned was $6 per bunch, not cleaned $5.00
Spent the $22 and Terry figures it might be or close to double from May of last year.
Small 5” Apple pie was $11 and I passed. $23 for the standard pie plate sized. Definitely passed on that. I looked only because Terry does not bake Apple or Cherry pies.
Good morning all and Happy Birthdays all around!
67 here and cloudy, supposed to be in the low to mid 70s with rain this weekend, then getting up into the 8os with rain next week.
I got up at 5-530 AM for decades and it took several years to quit waking up then after retiring. Did some quick paint work this morning between showers then finished my Sunday School lesson and made a second pot of coffee. Goal for this afternoon is doing some painting on an old DPM Flag Depot kit for a module.
Oh, and remember Confucious' advice "Never take a sleeping pill and laxative at the same time."

I was the rare mechanic that worked for a tire store. Eventually, I grew to hate both.

Dang! Is Wisconsin charging a tariff on their own produce, or is it just too early in the season?

I must of been in the minority. I never minded tire work!
This was my weapon of choice over the 2 bars. Deflate and 2 quick flips and its off the rim.
