I am scratchbuilding a turntable, and I'd like to operate it using DCC. I don't need a sound decoder or one that controls extra functions, just one that controls the speed and direction of the motor I'm using. Any recommendations for decoders to use for this purpose?

Any wired non-sound decoder will work just fine. What decoders do you have in your engines?
Thanks for the information. Reading your reply made me remember that I have a Bachmann Consolidation that doesn't run due to an issue with the wiring between the engine and the tender, but its 8-pin decoder is fine. I've removed said decoder and I'm going to test it after disconnecting it from the 8-pin attachment.
Update: the Bachmann decoder works splendidly and does the job, so I've decided I'll be using that.

That's great! That's $25 or so back in your pocket to spend on other model railroad items you do need.
