Lets see any or all of your patched units.

"DISCLAIMER" I mean no harm or offense to lover's of these fallen flags. It's just a fact of life in the modern day and age.

First up (pun intended) UP, Uncle Pete, The Borg, Union Pacific. (and yes UP even patched some of it's own units when they re-numbered them).

One I did for a friend of mine. I did finish adding the smaller decals but never did manage to get the engine back in the photo booth. I did this one before I knew there was a patch decal kit from Microscale to the yellow was painted. Good thing my dad is a UP modeler. I was able to get the yellow paint and UP decals from him.

Jerome, I hearby declare you "King of Patch Jobs". :) Man, that is a lot of locomotives you've done.

Jeffrey, such mass destruction of UP engines...it's enough to make a grown man weep. :D

Oh, wait, I guess I shouldn't complain. Jerome, you'll probably recognize this one.

Beautiful patches everyone!!

Ill be taking part in this thread and posting the couple ive done so far, just not right now, a little to late for me to get the pictures and such lol

Haha I wouldn't of guessed that but it looks really good and you can do quite a few units with a single straw.

I'm not a drinker, but I pass a bar on the way home from work every night. Didn't look like many cars there, so I stopped in. I asked the bar girl if she had any drinking straws, she looked at me kinda funny. I said don't ask.......

She handed me a bunch of these black 6" long straws. I thanked her and walked out. I was using aluminum tubing before. This works much better. Use a little Walthers GOO, run it around the stanchion a bit, works like a charm. :D

Summer time has me doing outdoor things and not much railroad stuff. But here and there I've found the time to catch up on some paint jobs. Picked up this CN SW1500 as a new unit that the original owner removed the motor and trucks from. Masked off and repainted the hood over the noodle CN and painted the side sills black. Hand rails were done in the cab color which is consistent with my home road standard color scheme. Original CN road number and class number remains and will not be patched over.

Bay Bayou and Gulf numbers 8 and 9 pull back to the main from a set out.

BB&G #8 is NH vintage, patched, and repainted more than once. (Engineer Bob did it himself with red walmart paint... got tired of the red-faded to pink cab...)

#9 came from the L&N not too long ago, had the cab painted red and the letting painted out.

With the new contracts for hauling heavy loads, RR management might just be able to afford real paint jobs someday soon... the jury is out on what it will be. (see the "Loaded" thread for a few pics of the BB&G's Special Loads Team at work)

it breaks my heart to see a pacthed guilford......

Well, if Guilford did a better job keeping the dang things running, then they wouldn't be sold and actually fixed.

I model modern day Guilford/Pan Am with a (not so) fictional eventual takeover by Norfolk Southern. I basically run a bunch of Guilford and Pan Am engines along with NS engines. Right now money is tight but I will be contacting Josh Baako soon about detailing and custom painting (I'm still trying to get the hang of painting. I'm more of an electrical type of guy.) of my future Pan Am fleet.

I can't wait for Rapido to come out with those FP9s. I want a pair custom painted for Pan Am :D
