Last time you guys threw a party here it took days to clean up, the fridge was empty, all the booze was gone. The cats wouldn't come out from under the bed for 2 days, to this day all I have to say is "Terry" and the one runs under the bed. I finally found the 1 Conrail engine I have in the cats litter box, and the neighbors reported to me that there were 8 people skinny dipping in the pool at one point. Problem is the pool behind our house is THEIRS!! No more!!!

Don't feel bad Eric, Karl didn't invite me either.
Speaking of Terry and the Skinny dipping reminded me of a joke about Bill Clinton and Al Gore out hunting.
So they were walking through the woods with their rifles and Bill spots a young lady skinny dipping in a pond a little ways away and starts to run over toward and holler's out, 'mind if I join you', and just the Old Al says I thought we were out hunting game? Well the lady skinny dipping is answering Bill back if she minds if he joins her and says I'm game and Big Al levels his rifle and shoots her!

Eric & Dave, I did not invite anyone or sanction the event......it kinda just happens when you go on vacation around here!

Nothing much happened today. I looked online for some Athearn F7 chassis to use as future parts sources. I found a few that I may get. Progress on the Varney F3A shows it has departed Easton Maryland. I have a doctor appointment in town tomorrow morning. Problem is there'll be no one here to assist me in getting there except my eighty year old step mother. I'll call the docs office in the morning and see if they can get by with a faxed report of the examination done by Home Health today. I doubt they'll agree but it's worth a shot. That's it for today. See y'all tomorrow.

I recovered from yesterday's 24hr bug, so I was able to do more layout prep after supper. The evening highlight was setting up the Trailer Jet; I'd never actually seen these Accurail piggyback flatcars in action before. After the bad experiences I had with the earlier Athearn blue-box version of these, I was a little concerned that the trailers would make them top-heavy. However, my fears were quickly laid to rest - I was able to push the train backward into its staging track [the opposite end was already occupied], with not even a hint of wobbling. Accurail has definitely made a believer out of me!

Good morning. It's 73° with 93% humidity. The high will be 98° and will feel like 109°.
Well there's been a change about the doc appointment this morning. My father got a call this morning notifying him of a scheduling mix-up and he doesn't have to come in today. So he'll be able to take me to the docs office later. It's nothing special, just a standard examination. Other then that I have no plans for today.

This is the weekend that all "Clam Diggers" look forward to......the "BENNYs" going home for the season. After Monday, all the "seasonal Prices" go away, the roads are less crowded, the beachfront parking meters go back into storage, and tranquility returns.
I don't have anything planned, except to cut the lawn......

Got the doc appointment taken care of. Standard checkup. Also had him look in my ears as I've been hearing the constant sound of blood pulsing in my ears 24/7 since the surgery. The doc thinks it's something to do with the anesthesia that was used. A fairly common thing he says. Nonetheless he set up an appointment for me to see a specialist at the Leesville Diagnostic center on Sept 12th. Then I go back to see my doc again on the 27th the see the doc in Oakdale on the 30th. Musical doctors anyone?. This keeps up I'll have to list it on the calendar as a visit to Dr Who.
Found a couple of fairly complete Athearn F7 chassis and have them on the way. They're not much good as runners but they'll be great as parts sources.
