Ah Ha -- maybe you should just pick up a new Tesla while there and drive that back?Once in Texas at the son’s he has my SUV that I left there in 2020 right before the Pandemic hit in March. We will drive that once we are there until we return.

He is less then a mile across the river from the Tesla factory. Terry would have real issues with me if we left her car in Texas. Not an optionAh Ha -- maybe you should just pick up a new Tesla while there and drive that back?
Except it is Austrian not German. Post war livery.Willie, those are NEM pockets so Kadee NEM 362 will fit, you'll, probably have to use the offset's, as the height will be slightly different, but it will run on your layout.
The wagon is actually German, and was in service 1920-1960, the majority were open goods wagons, with the guards or brakeman's hut/shelter fitted to the chassis, covered wagons had the arrangement you have with the brake/guard shelter elevated so he could see and signal the engine if required and vice versa.

You will be pleased to know that gasoline that was $4.09/gal last week is now $3.87/gal in Denton TX. Presumably lower in Austin as well.Once in Texas at the son’s he has my SUV that I left there in 2020 right before the Pandemic hit in March. We will drive that once we are there until we return. I will leave it there again.
Nice looking car Wille. I have several old Airfix ones like this one. Thanks for sharingGood Morning All. Beware the Ides of March! Clear and 47° here. We continue our great spring weather here, highs in the upper 60's-mid 70's and lows in the upper 40's. Sure looks like a full moon out there, but it's not actually until Friday. Thunderstorm last night was almost non-existent, barely got the car wet. Some hail about 30 miles east of us.
This morning brings to me a follow-up visit with my doctor for the nagging pneumonia that I have had since late-January. I actually started feeling a bit better in the last 4-5 days, but I still have not regained full stamina. I have been walking about a quarter mile a day now, hoping to get up to a half mile by this weekend. Back to my regular full mile by months end. Breathing is much improved, shortness of breath is now minimal. I only used the prescription inhaler once yesterday. I did read on the Internet that recovery is normally between 6 weeks and 6 months. I am hoping for the 6 weeks.
Thanks for all of the likes and comments yesterday; Tom O, Guy, Chad, Patrick, Karl, Hughie, Moermusic, George, Louis, Gary, Smudge, Tom, Sherrel, Lee, OB Ken.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I only added some ground foam to another small blank area. Slowly making progress.
I took a few pictures of a rail car from Europe yesterday. My BIL gave me this for Christmas after he saw in in a hobby shop in Ohio. The clerk assured him that it would work on HO track, but that was all. It cannot be fit with any couplers that I have, but I like the car anyway. It is a product of Brawa and represents a German railcar from around 1905.

From what I have read, that's a brakeman shanty on the top of the car.
Todd - I also grill in the wintertime quite regularly. I don't use the smoker as much though. Rain is the only thing that stops me as my porch is not covered. I can and have used an umbrella, but I cannot put the cover back on the grill until it cools off and I'm usually in bed by then!
Tom O - I'll have to see what I can do about another overall shot of the layout. Regarding how much room that I have left, there is approximately 1/3 of the layout with no structures or scenery; just main line and passing sidings running through it. I am intentionally not developing it yet because I really want to finish the scenery gaps elsewhere. About 25% of the unfinished area is going to be a staging/classification yard and all of the track is laid. Another 20% is going to be dedicated to an Ethanol processor and most of that track is laid. I switch it out already with no structures or scenery present. Most structures have been purchased and I have posted several builds recently. I do still need to obtain some more. I still have gaps in the other 2/3 of the layout. I have some kits that I will never use; my son gave me a wooden coaling tower for Christmas a few years ago.
Steve J - My daughter and family installed Smart Bulbs a couple of years ago, but the novelty of changing colors wore off pretty quickly. Grandsons still occasionally do it to impress friends and relatives.
Guy - I intend to be rather selective about the Miniprint figures. I just don't need any "novelty" figures, mummies, Fred the Sock etc.. I like the armadillos and coyotes though.
Greg - Sorry to read of your issues with ScaleTrains. I have only purchased "Rivet Counters" or "Operators" and I am very satisfied with them. I have 13 and the only issue was a broken horn on one of them, which was replaced immediately.
Gary - Impressive boat. Keep the pictures coming.
Everybody have an awesome day.
Dave thanks for the complement and I like that Ice loading International thanks for sharingGood afternoon, by the way.
Flo - I will take a cup of coffee, hashbrowns, eggs, and bacon. Eggs however you like, surprise me!
Willie - Thanks for the tip on fire starting. Also, the Heineken box car, looks cool and I am always intrigued by the little room at the end of their freight cars
Patrick - whenever I see the word firmware in a post I know it's you
Lee - Great semi tractor/trailer collection
TomO - I checked out the Miniprints figures. They are nice, however modern era. I purchased a lot of neat figures for the older era from Fun N Games.
Here is an interesting "modern" railroading development, icing the refrigerator car mechanically. The truck is an old IH, something we used to call a "binder", because IH made one of the first corn binders, a lot of us country folk began calling their vehicles that.

Sorry, not sure of the source. Must have been a really hot day.
more later, Dave
I asked my doctors about supplements, they told me not to bother.
I agree on the whole doctor and nutrition training. The MedCram channel I mentioned earlier has a balanced approach.Just remember, doctors are not schooled in nutrition. They are schooled in pharmaceuticals. Most doctors know nothing about nutrition and supplements.
There are a ton of garbage and useless supplements, but there are also a lot of useful ones. Research any supplement yourself and see if there are studies or other useful information. Then ask your doctor if it will interfere with any medications you may be taking. Don't ask him/her if it will do any good as they don't know and so will most likely just punt and say "no".
There are some doctors who have made the effort to learn about supplements and nutrition and use them as part of their treatments. Most don't, they just punt.
Good morning Everybody!
Hmmm... Not much to say as I'm avoiding this elephant in the room.
I hope and pray all are well.
God Bless Us Everyone.
Have a great day Everybody!
Having several chronic conditions including pancreatitis and kidney disease makes my situation complex. I trust my team of doctors more than anything I might learn myself.Just remember, doctors are not schooled in nutrition. They are schooled in pharmaceuticals. Most doctors know nothing about nutrition and supplements.
