Good afternoon all. A cold day with sunshine not warming up anything. Winter could be a harsh one.
I hate the laundry piling up. Get it done and put away.

A glass of Rose' wine please, Flo.
Then I'll have Afternoon Tea. Double up on the scones and jam.

In the train room later. Trains to Leeds Sovereign Street to run.

Gone is the dark, dismal and grimy looking Sovereign Street that I knew. In fact some of the buildings have been demolished. New buildings built; not of Leeds Brick though. Bricks from the Leeds Brick Company were darker. I hardly knew the place.

Good morning. 61f degrees now and maybe 84 later. I’m still enjoying it as it’s dry and low humidity. Sometimes Wisconsin weather can be awesome. The high on Monday is predicted in the low seasonable 60’s.

Volleyball on Campus at 1pm. The Women won the hockey game yesterday. The 3rd game in a row the score was 5-0. They look pretty good as expected. In 4 games they have score 24 and given up 2. The speed the team plays at is relentless

We had an ICE raid in the neighborhood Saturday morning at 3am. The deported person from June who was flown out of the country in July was arrested again along with the people who are living in the adjoining houses. I knew nothing about it until last night sitting on the front porch when one of the walking neighbors mentioned it. The neighborhood watch page on FB mentioned it this morning. There was still yellow police action tape around the 2 houses this morning as I went outside this morning for my walk.

The granddaughter went to the Homecoming football game Friday night. The son in law said as they walked onto the grandstand she was greeted like an arriving queen by one of the sections. Harper may have Down Syndrome but she is very social and usually gets along with everyone. We were at their house for pictures last night as she and a bunch of other “special needs” kids attended the dance as a group. Her mom texted the family group after the dance that “she had a good time”. That’s all you can ask for

I’m staying out of the train room today but may go in after dinner. I was invited to go to Hiawatha Hobbies with the grandson and 2 of his friends along with the SIL who would drive. But I’m going to the VB game. The boys are buying some slot cars and the SIL will pick up an 0 scale diesel for a weathering commission for me to weather. You guys think HO or N are expensive, $600 for a Sd70ace in Atlas O!

Enjoy the day

Well, howdy there internet tums consumers

It's troy again.

Woke up about 11:30 p with the belly not right. Taste of acid in the throat. Took a Tums (antacid) and drank some ginger ale. Looked up side effects from the covid booster. Nausea is possible, but this doesn't feel like a side effect. Possibly a bug bite or something I ate isn't agreeing with me.

Good day to stay home and paint some miniatures.

I'm currently printing out a model of the Hook & Ladder Company 8 firehouse in Tribeca, New York City, at 14 North Moore Street, aka, the ghostbuster firestation. This one is smaller than I need, but should be usable as a backdrop for a diorama of some of the fantasy critters breaking out of containment to go eat New York City. And not just Ray's pizza.

72°F/60°F here this morning.

I too was bitten by the acid bug last night around 0100 and didn't get back to sleep until nearly 0300. Ate up five anti-acid tablets, and then still couldn't sleep except half-way sitting up until around 0530. Fell back to sleep until 0740 and jumped out of bed when I saw the time.

I haven't been in bed past 0700 in months. I might need a nap later this afternoon.

I think it was the last bar-b-q hamburger, the beer, and later, the coffee ice cream after dinner that set off my stomach. I can't understand why it takes so long for it to happen. And then always in the middle of the night. Never happens in the day time.

Good Morning All. Clear skies and 64°. A bit more humid this morning than normal, at 89%, but that won't last long once the sun gets a little higher in the sky. No changes in the forecast, mild and dry, which is a little odd since October is usually a wet month for us.

Not a lot going on here on the SFW estate. I mowed a little yesterday, stacked some firewood, burned some trash and removed the one window A/C unit that I take out every winter. I'll head for church here in a little while before doing some more mowing this afternoon.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I ran trains once again. Also over at the workbench, I proceeded to weather those three freight cars that I decaled Friday. Ooops! I broke a part off the Fruit Growers boxcar.

Dried glue indicated that it had been attached before, this time I used super glue. This is a very old Accurail car, as indicated by the friction pin holding the truck on. But it still works so I didn't bother changing it to a screw.

As I have previously posted, I only lightly weather my cars, no "rust buckets" on my layout. I use AIM weathering powders, since that was the brand that my LHS carried when I first switched from powdered chalk to weathering powders.

Then the second car. A Woodchip hopper made by E & C Shops. I bought these at a hobby shop in Lewisville TX, but when I went back by a few months later, they were shut down.

One reason that I picked this car and it's sister car was because 3 of the 4 stirrup steps are missing. I have some from A-Line that are almost identical that I am going to install. Not exact but nearly so. If I don't like the look, I can always shave the remaining one off and make all 4 the same. The other car has all 4 steps but I didn't have time yesterday to weather it.

Patrick - I make my roadways a bit narrow to save space, 2-lane roads are 18' and 4-lane are 36'. They look OK with scale vehicles. I even have a few with 8' lanes that run parallel to the layout aisle, since the perspective is different and no one is any wiser.
Mac - That Western Maryland #1309 sure is a complex looking beast. Nice pictures.
Louis - FWIW I didn't see anything political in your post, you didn't mention any political party or name any names.

Guitarist Steve Miller is 82 today. He lived in Dallas for a while and went to high school there. In the late 60's, I saw him play at several free anti-war concerts at Lee Park when I was in high school. Saw him a few more times later when I had to pay.

Everyone have a great day today.

My wife does laundry every day. When we had to replace our washing machine, she was concerned that the new machines all started with a minimum water load much higher than our old one as she sometimes (most times) does very tiny loads.
Unfortunately I have to do a load a day (minimum) to keep up.

With a teenage daughter and my wife still working, it seems to pile up pretty fast.

Its one chore around the house I dont mind that much thankfully!

Good morning all!

Kind of a late check in for me, we all slept in this morning.

Should be a pleasant day today. Currently 71F heading up to a high of 84F. Mostly sunny skies.

The volleyball tournament yesterday was a long day, but worth it. The girls played phenomenal! They ended up winning
the whole whole thing and taking first place. This is the last Saturday tournament this season thank goodness. We had 4
in the last 5 weekends.

Homecoming dance was last night. The tournament ended and we got home at 2:45, and she had to be out at the nature
preserve at 4:00 for group pictures. She went with a group from volleyball that were doing pictures at 4:00. Then a pre-party
dinner at 5:30. It was a mad scramble, but she managed to get showered, make-up, hair, nails and we got her to pictures at
4:15. A few others were later than us, so it wasn't a big deal. Thank goodness homecoming week is over!

On todays agenda is laundry and a grocery run. Usual grocery run day is Saturday, but we were a little busy yesterday si it will
be today.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning! Another beautiful day to enjoy.

The morning quiet interrupted by the sound of Sukkot Tents being assembled throughout the neighborhood. Sukkot begins at Sunset Tomorrow and continues until October 13.

Meanwhile, I'm assembling flat car loads.

Because you're horizontal, and acid loves to travel.

I sleep on my left side (right shoulder is up) to keep the plumbing in an "uphill" orientation. The other side, and it's all downhill.

Still alive here. Got the upper digestive in order, and had a can of Chicken Noodle Soup (Progresso brand) for lunch.

But the lower GI is ... well... let's say stuff is crossing the southern border so fast I could make a long list of political jokes about it.

Wide awake, no symptoms other that the GI stuff.

Drink lots of fluids. It may keep things flowing but you need to keep hydrated and feel better!
Yes. My doctor said the same to me.

I drank the cans of Pale Ale and Guinness.
The bottle of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.
The Scotch followed by the Brandy
The Baylish and Jash Danniyelsh

I must have a stomach of steel as no matter what I eat I’ve so rarely experienced reflux that I can’t remember the last time. I’m sure it’s happened.

I went and was a few sites about it, and amongst other things like being overweight, certain foods, etc I found this.

  • Taking medications that relax the esophageal sphincter (including antidepressants, antihistamines, asthma medications, calcium channel blockers, painkillers, and sedatives)

My husband had a Down syndrome friend as a teenager, he (and I) were horrified to see this week a Down syndrome older adult in a Uk hospital had been starved for I think 9 days before his family realised and kicked up a fuss! You would not think they could be so in human(e).

Omg I went to get the link, he has died!
