Afternoon, everyone.
Chris, compared to Vegas, where being a criminal is considered an occupation, it can't be that bad in Mississippi. I had a "chat" with the general manager yesterday afternoon and he seemed nonplussed that they were asking for a driver's license in the restaurant. For a city trying to recover from a disaster like Hurricane Katrina, they aren't going about it the right way. Your truck and signs look good. I'm sure that logo will get lots of attention. Wait until they see what show up riding the mower.
Jeffrey, sounds like things in the medical world went a lot better for you yesterday. When I had my raging prostate infection, my PSA still came back at 2.4. I expected it to be through the roof. I hope yours is OK, although the evidence now is that PSA and free PSA readings don't correlate very well with the presence of cancer, which leads to a lot of unneeded and potentially dangerous prostate biopsies. I don't kow if your doctor gets an alkaline phosphatase level when he does you blood work but he should if doesn't. A rise in alkaline phosphatase is the best single indicator of cancer somewhere in your body. The sad part is that, for men, the longer we live, we are just waiting to get prostate cancer, although we usually die from something else first.
Dan, indeed, do what you can while you're young, since it doesn't get any easier when you get old.

Even while I was young, a wheel alignment was way beyond my skills.
Corey, I would have been much better off flying to Vegas. My SIL is the one that wanted to go to Biloxi, so I drug her down there. Not only was the casino experince bad but Biloxi is still a very depressing place to be. Except for the areas around the new casinos, the town is nothing but block after block of vacant fields with driveways. At least most of the debris has been cleaned up and a few new houses have been built built it's pretty obvious most people who lost their homes left Biloxi have left, never to return.
Barry, it seems like everywhere from the midwest up through southern Canada has just been getting dumped on all summer. We are actually an inch above normal for the year, which is the first year without drought since 2005.
Rex, we got .88 of an inch overnight, which is more than I expected, given the poor presentation on radar at 0200. It's partly cloudy and still warm here too (81), which is odd, since the cold front should have already gone through. I have topressure wash the bricks that are just on out tiny front entry and that was enough work for me. You have a lot more brick than me.

I haven't even thought about pressure washing the house. Maybe I can get Chris to come up and do it if I provide the brats and beer.

Kind of strange that installing a decoder and a speaker is R&R for folks like us. I think most people would find it pretty tedious.
The tropics continue to heat up. A new area of disturbed weather east of the Bahamas is now Invest 95L and it appears it may become at least a tropical depression by tomorrow if it can escape the layer of dry air to the west. It may have more potential for development if it can stay in the channel between the Bahamas and Florida and not make landfall over Florida. If it makes landfall, it will be a minimal tropical depression, and just bring south Florida some much needed rain. If it can stay offshore, it may present a threat to the area from South Carolina north. Sea surface temperatures are above 80 degrees almost all the way to Maryland and that's the fuel that tropical storms need to grow. This one will bear some watching.
