Afternoon, everyone.
The SIL wanted to go to Biloxi so she, the wife and I drove three and a half hours to get there. Stayed at the Imperial Palace. If you're thinking about going down that way, don't stay at the IP. Everything is expensive, the service is terrible, the A/C wasn't working right in the room, it had the most complicated TV menu system ever invented, and they made me feel like a criminal. I've never had to show my driver's license so many times to get anything. I even had to show it to pay for dinner when I used my credit card. That was enough of that. I got the restaurant manager over and told him I was sick of everyone in the hotel having my DL information along with my credit card. I showed him my State of California retired ID and my state of Alabama retired LE concealed weapons permit, both of which have my picture but not things like my home address and city. He said they ask for a driver's license to prevent identity theft. I told him that most of the thieves probably work for him.

I said either take these as verification that it's my credit card or show me where to start washing dishes. He decided to take my credit card. Man, I've been to Vegas about 100 times and never had to show my DL to pay for dinner with a credit card, and half the people in Vegas make their living stealing. I could have flown to Vegas in the same amount of time it took me to drive and least have had better odds at video poker and not be treated like a thief.
Jeffrey, sounds like a real dental adventure.

Getting those molars with the giant roots sometimes hurts unless they gas you. At least the toothache is gone. I hope the rest of your medical things go a little easier.
Larry, yes, a few of us are still hanging around.

Why is it men can make up their minds about something like a cabinet in 10 minutes and it takes women days? Just hanging up a picture is a half-hour ordeal for me. My wife doesn't believe a bubble in the middle of the glass in a level means the picture is actually level.

Thanks for continuing to post the new words and thoughts every day. I always learn something from them.
Chris, I'm sure you're best customers will be in neighborhoods where you'd get stopped by the cops for driving through.

Look at this way, though. At least your wife likes having you at home. I know many marriages that ended up in divorce a year after the guy retires because they both really hated each other but at least he left for most of the day.
Barry, we have a pretty impressive looking line of storms to the west of us. We'll see if it actually holds together until it gets here. It's 80 degrees with a dewpoint of only 57 so not a very conducive atmosphere for rain yet. That tratle should really be sometyhing by the time you're done with all the hours you've put into it.
Dan, it's stories like yours that remind me why I have an AAA card. You're a lot more inventive than me. I would have just sat in the rain crying.
Josh, sounds like you're a pretty good mechanic too. I never was all that good at it but I was better when I was younger. Crawling around under cars just makes me dizzy now.
Corey, it always seems that, no matter how many times I clean up the layout, there's junk all over it in a week. I guess I'm just slob.

I always do my best work when I wait until the last minute also....or at least that's what I tell myself.
Sorry, missed a bunch of other folks. I leave for a day and everyone come to Flos'. I wonder if there's a connection?

The tropics are starting to heat up a bit, with a disorganized area of convection off Nicaragua that may have some potential next week. It finally warmed up here but this next front coming through should cool us down again after it hopefully gives us a shot of rain. I got part of my fascia board up finally so that will get a coat of flat black paint today. I went to Walmart to pick up a quart and it seems that flat black latex isn't a very popular color since they hade to custom mix it. Just not enough model railroaders around here.
