"GOOD MORNING!":D

Man, what a quiet morning in the coffee shop! I got some stuff to do and just wanted to see what everyones up to............Still asleep I see:D!

Flo.....Cup of Joe to Go!

Good morning folks.

Jim, it sounds like you would have been better off staying home! As far as flat paint popularity goes, nobody seems to like spray can primers in a multitude of colors either! :D I can only find a few.

Chris, your signs are very eye catching. They certainly make you look friendly, despite what others may say.:p:)

Nothing much to report around here. That wet stuff keeps falling from the sky despite my repeated calls for it to stop! The farmers around here are having a hard time getting there crops in. I guess that's another reason I'm not a farmer.:)

I'm hoping to resume kit building tonight if I get the chance. We'll see what the wife has in store.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning from ARainingDayInOurTownville:(

We's be getting dumped on with more rain--heavy at times--up to 2" expected on top of the 1.25" we got last night-----yay:(

Anyhoooooo----AT LEAST THERE IS A LITTLE MORE LIFE IN HERE!!!:D:D:D:p:p:p

So there----:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:p:p

Howdy friends! I've been peeking in through the windows and have seen you guys, but have been back at the honey-do's. The short break in rainy weather allowed me to get back to outside housekeeping. Today, I finally had enough courage to pressure wash the brick sidewalk in the front: brick, by brick, by brick, by .... Three hours later, I started on the house trim, but soon decided I had already put in a full day:rolleyes::rolleyes::D. Danged pressure washers will wear you out! Guess I need to break down and buy one of those swirly nozzles to make it go faster.

Think I will R&R in the depot and go ahead an install the second J1e's decoder/speaker.
CU all later:)

Afternoon, everyone.

Chris, compared to Vegas, where being a criminal is considered an occupation, it can't be that bad in Mississippi. I had a "chat" with the general manager yesterday afternoon and he seemed nonplussed that they were asking for a driver's license in the restaurant. For a city trying to recover from a disaster like Hurricane Katrina, they aren't going about it the right way. Your truck and signs look good. I'm sure that logo will get lots of attention. Wait until they see what show up riding the mower. :p

Jeffrey, sounds like things in the medical world went a lot better for you yesterday. When I had my raging prostate infection, my PSA still came back at 2.4. I expected it to be through the roof. I hope yours is OK, although the evidence now is that PSA and free PSA readings don't correlate very well with the presence of cancer, which leads to a lot of unneeded and potentially dangerous prostate biopsies. I don't kow if your doctor gets an alkaline phosphatase level when he does you blood work but he should if doesn't. A rise in alkaline phosphatase is the best single indicator of cancer somewhere in your body. The sad part is that, for men, the longer we live, we are just waiting to get prostate cancer, although we usually die from something else first.

Dan, indeed, do what you can while you're young, since it doesn't get any easier when you get old. :( Even while I was young, a wheel alignment was way beyond my skills.

Corey, I would have been much better off flying to Vegas. My SIL is the one that wanted to go to Biloxi, so I drug her down there. Not only was the casino experince bad but Biloxi is still a very depressing place to be. Except for the areas around the new casinos, the town is nothing but block after block of vacant fields with driveways. At least most of the debris has been cleaned up and a few new houses have been built built it's pretty obvious most people who lost their homes left Biloxi have left, never to return.

Barry, it seems like everywhere from the midwest up through southern Canada has just been getting dumped on all summer. We are actually an inch above normal for the year, which is the first year without drought since 2005.

Rex, we got .88 of an inch overnight, which is more than I expected, given the poor presentation on radar at 0200. It's partly cloudy and still warm here too (81), which is odd, since the cold front should have already gone through. I have topressure wash the bricks that are just on out tiny front entry and that was enough work for me. You have a lot more brick than me. I haven't even thought about pressure washing the house. Maybe I can get Chris to come up and do it if I provide the brats and beer. :) Kind of strange that installing a decoder and a speaker is R&R for folks like us. I think most people would find it pretty tedious.

The tropics continue to heat up. A new area of disturbed weather east of the Bahamas is now Invest 95L and it appears it may become at least a tropical depression by tomorrow if it can escape the layer of dry air to the west. It may have more potential for development if it can stay in the channel between the Bahamas and Florida and not make landfall over Florida. If it makes landfall, it will be a minimal tropical depression, and just bring south Florida some much needed rain. If it can stay offshore, it may present a threat to the area from South Carolina north. Sea surface temperatures are above 80 degrees almost all the way to Maryland and that's the fuel that tropical storms need to grow. This one will bear some watching.

Up to 54 and cloudy here. Expecting 64 for a high with some clouds. Cable went out after my earlier post. I'm really getting tired of this. Every weekend it seems to be the same darned thing. Cable goes out for a while, comes back on for a little while, goes out for a while for most of the weekend seemingly almost every weekend. If satellite wasn't so darned slow (58 kbps) I'd go with Hughes Net in a minute!.

What size pressure washer do you use? I'm doing it with an OLD thing that puts out 1000psi on a good day!!:D

Here's the Lil' Old Monster..........It's just enough power to clean very nicely and yet weak enough to leave the paint unharmed!
Also threw in a shot of my new Echo Hedge trimmer, Oh...Baby that thing is nice!

whew, lots of vatching up to do....

I haven't been by the coffee shop in AGES, but I see you've all been crazy busy.

I see someone has been sharing recent dental adventures with me. I had a HUGE molar excavated today. now I have a hole the size of the Grand Canyon in my mouth. never thought I'ld be getting implants....

I STILL haven't started my lay-out, but I've been dropping by hobby shops, and visiting set ups that are open to the public, as well as taking my camera everywhere with me, shooting interesting buildings, and sites and scenes.

it was a cold, wet, dreary summer, and fall seems to be doing the same.
spent the weekends horse showing, finished up the season well. Went to the meat sale this week, and brought home a lovely yearling colt, bought him for eleven cents a pound. he's my 85.47 horse. :D don't know what I'll be doing with him, other than gelding him soon. but still. didn't want the meat buyer to get him.

think I'll cruise the board, and get all caught up with whats happening here.

Im starving, but can't really eat anything. chikin broth will have to do.

Chris: That's ok pal, I can take it! (btw: when you come up to do Jim's house, come on up the road a little farther to my house. I will even furnish the pressure washer :D:D)

Barry: I have a 3000psi Troybilt. I used the general purpose nozzle to keep from tearing out the mortar, but still managed to get some of it. I don't think the 40 foot brick walk has been cleaned in years. It had a heavy build up of crud and was very slick when wet (all this time I thought it just looked old  duh!). Now it looks like new brick. Funny, you don't realize how much it is pushing against you the first hour, but by the second hour you start shifting arms.

LT: Glad to see you stop by. I have wondered where you went off to.:)

Jim: Not sure how much rain we had last night. The rain gauge at the airport was on the fritz again. Enough about the DR...DID YOU WIN anything! :D

I just went through a battle I don't want to repeat anytime soon. Earlier today a Google search engine had set itself up as my Firefox homepage and had reset all tab settings to normal. Try as I might I couldn't get rid of the darn thing. It wouldn't even let me reset the home page! I finally had to clear all the history and cookies and reinitialize everything so I could set up my normal homepage and tab settings. Man! I HATE GOOGLE!

Jeffrey, that's why I don't let the Google tool bar near my browser. There's a setting somewhere in firefox to warn you if a site is trying to reset your home page. I feel for you with your internet service. We have Charter and it goes up and down on a daily basis, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for hours. Every cable from the steet to the inside of the house has been replaced and it made no difference. The problem is that Charter's backbone is in Atlanta and they use fiber optic cable that's nailed up to tress to run through the woods. I've filed five complaints with the Alabama Public Service Commision, which supposedly regulates them. Yeah, right. I might as well have complained to the cats.

Rex, no, I didn't win anything. That didn't help my frustration level with the IP any. Man, a 3000 psi washer? That will test the mortar in any brick. No wonder you were sore.

LTF, nice to see you again. You and horses is just like me and engines - always room for one more. :D I'm glad you got the little guy instead of a meat factory. I've been through the dental excavation pahse already. Not a lot of fun and implants aren't much more fun. :(

Chris, I'll pay for your gas and give you brats and beer. Just bring that giant hedge trimmer with you so you can attack my giant bushes too. ;)

The rain came through last night but the cold air is hitting now. It was 71 at 8:00 pm and is now down to 57 with a stiff breeze. I know that still sounds pretty warm to you guys in the frozen north but you'd be surprised how cold it feels here when the wind gets going.

Good Morning

Everyone here is awake and piculous. I've got the weekend seminar series in full swing today and I'm doing some other stuff this evening--hopefully for not too long--need my sleep at some point---heeheehee:D:D

Jim I'm pretty sure that it will feel pretty raw with that wind---a near 25F drop will feel harsh on a person especially if the moisture level be up the wazooo!!! We got about 2" of rain yesterday--so I'm watching the lake in the backyard again---maybe I'll start playing with the R/C boats as well this weekend!!:D:D:eek:

LTF Good to see you back in here. Nothing much has changed at our end except maybe all the dang runnin' 'round I'm doing:eek::rolleyes::D:D--How many horses are now at your place? It's always a good thing to see when someone can take a horse out of the meat line---sheesh:eek::D:D

Have a good one, people :D:D:D:)

Rex, Home of De Pot and Lowes has a house wash cleaner that works great. Won't harm the paint and won't kill your plants around the house!

Jim, trust me I'm working on it! LOL's You like that hedge trimmer do ya......I've been wanting one like for a while. Way easier to handle and way more balanced machine.

We haven't got rain in over a week and today I got 5 yards to mow and the Rain is lining up already in the gulf waiting to come ashore! SOB I can't win.......

BTW, We Got another customer and might get his sons yard too.....Man is this hood sweet! When I was Giving a Quote to the new guy, I watched His neigbor blow is mowers engine...LOL's man that guy came unglued. Next week I'll give him a card when he cools off!LOL's Well Got to go and do a final check on the equipment and fuel it up.......chit-chat later when I get back.....if it doesn't start raining at 8am?

Hey, VL, sounds like business is GOOD.

hmmm, how many horses. I don't know. I don't like to keep track. lets just say...

a bunch.

the left half of my face is looking like Alvin and the Chipmunks. wonder how long the swelling will be there? I have a lunch thing to go to tomorrow. hope they have soft food.

I've been looking at everyones photos, theyr'e all inspiring. :)

The swelling will go down significantly and the pain will be more bearable after 2 or 3 days. The tooth I had pulled was the first bottom molar on the right side. I had an 8 ounce sirloin and a half rack of BBQ ribs later the same day and really enjoyed it. I just made sure to do all the chewing on the left side and keep anything hard away from that Grand Canyon on the right. If the dentist prescribed you any pain pills I'd advise using them only as long as you're not operating heavy machinery or driving. They may not kill the pain totally but they'll take the edge off.
