While at a project at the Airport Industrial Park south of Philly I found a pair of loco's hiding behind a clump of trees in a parking lot. The gauges and inside looks like it's been kept up. The other loco is a B30-7.
I only had my cell phone and will have to return with a better camera. They also have a 45 toner at the entrance but had cars parked in front of it.
Great pictures for being on your cell phone! I am interested in seeing more of the CSX Gray and Blue if you do get a chance to take some more pictures.
Are there alot of differences between an SD20-2 and an SD40-2?
Doing a google search it looks like there were only 5 converted from SD38-2's back in the 80's. The most obvious thing I see right away is that there are only 2 round fans on top. The SD40-2 I believe has 5.
Also the sd40-2 has a large deck in front and back. The SD20-2 has a small one.
Neither of those locos are on the active roster. However, that doesn't mean that CSX doesn't still own them. I'm sure CSX still owns them, but either leases them out to someone else or doesn't use them in freight service. Either way, they'd have to be maintained.

The SD35 should have 3 or 4 fans, 2 large radiator fans, one small radiator fan, and one on the turbo hatch if it has dynamic brakes.
SD40-2s have 3 or 4 fans as well, 3 large radiator fans, and one on the turbo hatch if it has dynamic brakes.
Judging by the fan locations in relation to the radiator grills, it is indeed an ex-SD35 with the middle small fan removed. The unit never had dynamic brakes, which explains why theres no fan or grills on the turbo hatch.
I'll be getting more pics with a regular camera
I believe these are used at a railroad training school of some sort there.
It doesn't however look like they were moved recently based on the rust on the rails. The gauges in the cab looked like they were well maintained. The fuel tank didn't look like it had much fuel in it.
I'll get pics of the b unit when I go back as well.

Today I returned with my DSLR to get some more pics including the 5552 and 45 tonner. I took about 120 or so pics for those interested in details.
They are in raw format and will have to be cleaned and converted.
I'll start a new thread with them when I do. Here's a couple in the mean time. The large file sizes are available in photobucket.
That's where the CSX REDI training school is (one of many locations). After Conrail split between CSX and NS, CSX received that part. I would find it hard to believe that NS would let CSX park retired engines on their property.
