I bought a rebuilt computer about 6 months ago with a ton of ram and a high quality graphics card. It had windows 11 pro installed...Side note: I am also a RPM gamer (Elder Scrolls series) and they do NOT like Windows 11 at all...Some don't even like Windows 10; The computer place deleted WIndows 11 and were able to get my favorite game (Oblivion) to run. If you are a gamer (I doubt it) though, consider the platform installed

Pt went well, furnace passed with flying colors (til it doesn't), Lawn got mowed, took 1.5 inches off since last week off the front, and got the back mowed hopefully for the last time. Front is cool season fescue, the back is whatever happens to grow. I can't fully water the back as there is only partial coverage with the sprinkler system.

Now waiting for the grandson.

What do you call a retired gravedigger?

Joe - Hope that you get some rain soon. I'm used to droughts here, but folks in the Northeast seem to be having a harder time with fires in all of the wrong places.
Thank You: The worst part of these fires is that the two closest, were deliberately set per the Attorney General. The one near the NY line, cause hasn't been determined yet. Across the River in NYC, dysfunctional psychopaths are setting fires in public parks. Out at the curb, where we place leaves for Public Works to pick up, I'm seeing cigarette butts along side the leaf piles. What is the matter with people?

Average cost of gas here is $2.83. The lowest $2.79....exception BJ's warehouse $2.69 / $2.59 with their CC. Highest was $2.93.

I've gotten fewer and fewer of those letters or postcards. A lot of them are going to direct email marketing (spam), though I've questioned what they do if there is no email on file...

On an unrelated note, I received no bill from a doctor for a visit, and after nearly 6 months I gave them a call to see if there was a balance, or if my insurance had paid. No, my insurance hadn't paid, and I had been sent to collections because I never paid the bill. I never got a bill in the mail. The response was, "we emailed you the bill". Really? What email address did you send it to? "Umm... There's no email on file for you"... There was no apology, and the collection service likewise had emailed the collection notices to "null". I had to jump through a few hoops to get this taken off my credit report, and I started monitoring that more closely.
Which brings up the obvious question, why didn't the insurance pay the bill in the first place? Did the practice even bother to process your claim like they are supposed to? Business is getting used to sloughing off everything to the client...(like self checkout). Could self billing insurance be far behind?

The part was what I owed after insurance paid. The whole thing was kind of sketchy. "If you owe anything, we'll send you a statement". You can see where all that wound up.

And the holiday jingles are playing on the airport speakers. I've got my Dunkin coffee. Other than needing another 4 hours of sleep, I'm good for the moment. Never sleep well on planes, but dozed on-and-off-again for about an hour on the last flight.

Troy, good to see you made it.

I guess our government doesn't have the market cornered on dumb things. I have long had a basic account for a single online game I own. I just tried logging in to it, only to find the site now requires 2FA "to protect my account", even though there's absolutely no information of mine whatsoever. So, I went through the hassle of setting up 2FA. Now, I logged in, and the company that runs the site is requiring a payment method on file. A payment method to be used for a free game that has no way to make purchases. Well, I have a virtual Visa card with $1 on it for things that require a payment method, but I am never going to pay anything. So, I used that, and now the required 2FA can protect the payment info I don't need, but had to include, so 2FA can protect it.

A friend replied to my facebook post about landing in Dallas, and said she hated DFW airport. For a major hub airport, it's severely lacking in food choices.

I replied that I was very disappointed in the lack of Brisket when we deplaned. This is Texas, after all. I was expecting a Texas ambassador with a big pile of Brisket like at Bucc-ee's.

Hopefully, Willie can put in call to his Gov and let him know about the oversight. I mean it's common to have a cookie-ambassador at the tiny Fort Wayne airport, passing out a small bag of cookies.
