Anyone remember Annie Greensprings?
Cheap wine for HS kids (Not that I have any personal experience with it 😁).

Medicare meeting went better than expected. We're able to keep her on my better medical plan. We just need a $3.10 a month prescription plan that allows the city's plan to be secondary. No fines or penalties to be accessed later.

Good morning, all! We awoke to 40 degrees this morning, going to a high of 65. I was able to button my pants this morning. I eat way to much at Thanksgiving. Everyone brings a dish for the dinner, and everyone tries to outdo the others with some of the tastiest desserts. Carbs and sugar readings, through the roof.

Cold Duck, Ripple and Boone's Farm, I was never a fan of wine. Still not though I like a glass of vermouth when I'm cooking. I do have an unopened can of Billy Beer.

Spent some time running trains yesterday. I continued my operating session where I left off a few days ago. Strangely, I had all kinds of issues uncoupling yesterday. It wasn't a problem days earlier. All my rolling stock and locomotives have Micro Train couplers, except a 6 car string of hoppers from BLI, and Kato Unitrac uncoupler tracks. Not sure what changed, but I hope it changes back.

From the archives, Jefferies Point, a Bar Mills kit.

Maybe the weather changed and the wood in the layout expanded, causing some vertical curves where you didn't have any before. Is the layout in a place you can look at it from "ground level"?

Yes, you can look at it from ground level. It is in a spare bedroom in the house. Additionally, there is 2 inches of foam board under all the trackage. I did wonder about weather changes but blew it off as it is inside and on foam board.

Louis - They quit making Ripple wine in 1984 or so. Another one that I never knowingly drank. My "go-to" cheap wine was Boone's Farm
I suppose Ripple was not selling.

I'm not much on wine although I will occasionally have a glass of Merlot with Angela's Goulash, they go perfectly together. I didn't know, Angela recommended it, and I liked it. Angela is the resident wine connoisseur.

My go to cheap drink in my youth was Calvert Extra whiskey less than $5/fifth. The size and price tell you how long ago that was. It's been so long I can't remember the actual price; it was cheap. I keep a bottle (1.5L) in my liquor cabinet. It's a good mild flavor whiskey for cocktails. Especially for people who don't want the flavor of whiskey to overwhelm the cocktail. I don't drink cocktails. I like my Jameson whiskey or Evan Williams bourbon straight, with a beer on the side. I can't remember the last time I had a shot.

"Ripple wine: A former fortified wine
Ripple was a sweet, carbonated, fortified wine that was popular in the United States in the 1970s. It was produced by E & J Gallo Winery and was marketed to casual drinkers. Ripple had an alcohol content of 11% ABV, which was lower than modern table wines. Unopened bottles of Ripple are rare and can be worth between $150 and $200."
They called that wine? Never tried it myself, even though I do remember haved Mad Dog 20/20, Boones farm and Malt Duck. Malt Duck was basically a cross between Welch's grape juice and beer. It was a cheap way to get the girls more "sociable". Meanwhile I would be hitting a bottle or 2 of Tanqueray Tequila Sunrise, ohh the good old days!

Good evening. It's mostly clear and 57.
I'm back home early because the place where I live suffered another power failure. Luckily, I didn't have much food in the fridge, after the last go-round of not having power. The power did come back on before anything in the freezer started thawing, so that's good.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with expanded waistlines

It's Troy again

Not much new to report. Took a nap of a couple of hours. After taking Sweetie out to one of her fav Italian places. No pics of the food. I got the Italian Sausage sandwich. The bread is more of a thick wrap. Three types of sausage, tomato sauce, and mozz inside.

Came home, and Sweetie baked up the sugar cookies in cut-out form. I started napping. And rather than wake me to help, she frosted all four dozen herself.

So, cookies were supper. Dessert is about to be a glass of whiskey. Got a good Pendelton smokey variety. Picked up another bottle this morning, since it's out of Canada. Figured I'd get it before the 25% tax hits.

Oh, and this morning she did an acrylic pour painting for her sister.

As for me, over on the BlueSky app (like twitter, but without the hate) I got this great offer:

I know it's fake, because the REAL illuminati would know just how klutzy I am. I spilled paint on my jeans, twice in two days. So I blocked the message sender. I mean, real illuminati wouldn't DM on BlueSky, they'd like materialize in the train cave, right?

If memory serves me correctly, Fred Sanford, of Sanford & Son had a special drink he served when he wanted to impress a lady or "person of class".
It was what he called " Cham-pipple". It was a mix of Ripple wine and Ginger Ale.
Redd Fox ( who played Fred Sanford ) died broke. Demond Wilson and a few others paid for his funeral.
