Good Morning All. Here it is partly cloudy and 34°, not quite as cold as the original forecast. Still under a wind advisory until 6:00 pm; wind is currently 25+ mph out of the north with gusts at 30+ mph. I won't even go into the ever evolving weather forecast as it seems to be changing every two or three hours. Like Joe posted, "the more forecasting tools they get the worse their forecasts are."

Still not feeling 100% yet. The main symptoms are shortness of breath and nighttime sweating. Daughter #2 is searching in Dallas for home Covid test kits to send to us. There are none anywhere locally - checked six locations Thursday during the grocery trek.

Thanks for the likes and comments regarding the archive pictures of Uncle Tony's Meat Market; OB Ken, Smudge, Gary, Chad, Patrick, James, Karl, Hughie, Steve J, Tom O, Dave B, Joe, Curt, Justin, Tom, Louis, Sherrel, Rick, George, Mikey.

Hello Flo. Ham and scrambled eggs this morning for me. Make it a cranberry-grape juice today.

The afternoon visit to the train shed didn't result in a whole lot, since I mainly ran trains. It had been a few days and my engineers were getting antsy.
I did finish painting those detail parts and applied some rust and dirt weathering powders to some of them.

Five of the castings are slated for one trailer home; I may use the broken workbench/junk in another location.

Troy - First , congratulations on the latest book. Secondly, I hope that you recover from the mystery ailments rapidly.
Greg - Like you, my office was always centrally located inside the large warehouse complex. I did however have the luxury of being able to get up and travel, usually outside around and between buildings, inspecting and observing. We also had a remote plant about a quarter mile down the road that I would occasionally walk to and from. Since I didn't own a cell phone while working, any emergency that my staff couldn't handle just had to wait until I returned. That was rare since I had trained them all very well and they all could do their jobs without me watching everything. I do like your idea of the camera monitor though.
Joe - Thank you for the comment on Uncle Tony's. I really enjoyed assembling that kit, and it is prominently displayed at eye level, first structure that can be seen upon entering the train shed.
Louis - Looks like the feds not only got Marilyn, but they got a whole division of the PD in a different investigation!
Mike -
back in 1984. I was in the haunted house, just 24 hours prior to the fire, on our 8th Grade class trip.
My sister #1 was in the World Trade Center on September 10, 2001. She is still haunted by that.
Tom O - I am not sure why there is such a wait at the ER's here. Like WI, if you show up at the ER in TX, they have to see and treat you. A friend of ours who used to work at one of the hospitals years ago, confided that they had three docs at that time. Two who saw those with insurance and one who saw the uninsured. There was less of a wait if you had insurance. Some trauma cases took priority regardless. This was never public knowledge.
Don’t think about Spring, it’s too soon.
It's not too soon here. Here's what I see when standing on the back porch this morning. Just wish that there was sunshine on this 80 acres of winter wheat.

Where's Christian???
That's it for now. Everybody be safe with the impending Snowmageddon, if it ever happens.
Otherwise everyone have a great day.

...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH
MONDAY MORNING...
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level
possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways.

* WHERE...Western Monmouth and Eastern Monmouth.

Yo! Good morning. 13° and sunny as I write this. Today's high was 26° at midnight, and it's going down to around 11° tonight. The forecast for Sunday night into Monday, calls for Snow - Rain changing to Rain. No more than a ½" of snow before change over. They expect heavy rain. I'll take it.

Troy: That doesn't sound good...it does sound like what I had last December...It could be a respiratory virus, or...the dreaded lurgy....do not get dehydrated! If we were not in a media induced panic, over Omicron, tests for people actually showing "real" symptoms would be readily available, instead of scarce. You should contact your doctor. ASAP.

Guy: Good to hear from ya. Ya have to do what ya gotta do, but those little people will keep ya busy.

Covid fatigue in the medical community is patients coming to ER for testing. ER is an emergency room not a testing center.
Tom: Exactly, but when all you hear is "Get Tested"...it's the only place where you don't need an appointment, (or an insurance card).
TV Weather like most news is too much hype do me to bother with.
Louis: My wife, mostly out of habit, just has to watch the local news, but mostly mutes the sound. She checks out three of the five major stations for their version daily...they are mostly wrong...FWIW, most phone weather apps are worse...of course most have a connection to a TV network.

Today's plan is to stay in. Work on model railroad stuff, and find a hockey game to watch tonight...Caps - Rangers play this afternoon, but are only on Cable. :(. Devils are postponed...there has to be something that will pique my interest...or not...

Willie: Hope you are feeling better...again, stay hydrated, and call your Doc. Because of the exposure, it's possible you have the lurgy. Take care, eh?

Willie, I have not been keeping up on the news. Was that the Baltimore PD gun trace task force? They have been under investigation for some time. If its something new, I won't be surprised.
Corruption is a dirty, not so secret problem in many aspects of the city government. We had a mayor that stole gift cars intended for underprivileged kids, at Christmas! Need I say more?
All my years in business I have only sold to the city on a handful of occasions, when they were desperate. My experience has been, to sell anything to the city you have to grease somebody's palm. I refuse to do business that way.

It is my sincere hope that every single lying, dirty politician or civil servant go to jail!

Boris, I had a habit of watching news throughout the day. Reading the Baltimore Sun, New York Times and the Washington Post. I also listened to NPR.

I mostly broke my habit. I only kept my Baltimore Sun subscription, but I seldom read it. I occasionally watch the news.
I'm occasionally listening to NPR again. Only because they stopped playing Christmas music on another station.

Its not just the way the news is covered, its the news itself that makes me crazy!

By not watching, reading the news I am a happier person. 😁

Yes it is. I am aware that the investigation has been ongoing, but a recent report was issued that is considerably damning. I have not been keeping up with the Baltimore Sun much lately since I won't sign up. Used to read it more often because of the politics and crooked politicians there. Not meaning to demean your fair city, but it seems that you have more ex-mayors that have done jail time than ex-governors in Illinois.
Yes, we had a few discussions regarding Sheila a couple of years back.

I had not heard any recent news. It's hard to imagine the charges could be worse, but I should not be surprised. These rogue cops were under investigation for all kinds of heinous crimes.
You are not demeaning my city, the truth is the truth. Baltimore has been in a steep decline since the 60s. Mayor William Donald Schaefer was much praised, but he actually did little to help the city. His lies and ignorance cost the city many good employers. I blame him more than anyone for the loss of this Colts. He was a nothing more than a big mouth show boat, all talk and foolish action. He did nothing to stop or even slow the loss of I good paying employers making the spiral down even worse.
We had a few honorable people as mayor after Schaefer, but he made the job nearly impossible with such low tax revenue and a declining population.
For the first time in decades the city's population has risen! Our location is as valuable as ever logistically. Fortunately the Governor did not "give away the farm" trying to lure Amazon's second headquarters. Finally there is funding for improving the Howard street tunnel. I see a comeback for Baltimore!

Louis: Very true. Print media, whether on paper or on line does not convey the dramatized presentations of the TV/Radio/Video news readers.
Keeping in mind the old Mary Tyler Moore TV show, the Idiot (Ted Baxter), only read what "Murry" the news writer prepared for him to read. Too much or too little dramatization landed him in Lou's office. The only difference today, is there is no such thing as too much drama. (Nor any promotion to Captain of the Love Boat).

Just checked my Stock Portfolio and here's my new theme song.............
Greg: I check mine mid day and each evening. That way no surprises on the weekend. Seems the private equity boys and big banks are upset that the problems they created over the last couple of years, are going to affect them as well as the minions...

Hold on, did he delete his account again?
Smudge617: I'm not sure. Maybe, he tried to delete the photos of his various ovals, and got locked out....Bloody Hell! (I love that expression).
Poor guy has his problems with forum protocol.

Willie: I was always amused by Maryland Politics, and Politicians, (Including a few I worked with on the railroad), and enjoyed following the antics. Once the Sun limited free views, and WBAL stopped coming in on the radio,I sort of lost interest. Maryland has some very colorful characters to say the least...don't forget Governors...Spiro T. Agnew, and Marvin Mandel. Who can for get the Martin J.O'Malley Memorial Limited access toll lanes on I-95. It's not just the Mayors...And being from Jersey...where we have our own collection of "characters", It's easier to be amused by someone else's crooks.

Speaking of which, it appears that the Township Manager...an appointed municipal employee...(not only not a Township resident, but not even a County resident), has attempted a coup, by appointing members of various Township committees and boards. By charter, this is a task for the Mayor and Council. The Township Attorney, also a municipal appointed employee, sided with the Manager...The Mayor, is a physician who runs a rather large medical practice with six offices, predominately in low income areas, and is pre occupied with the current medical demand for services. Apparently this all dates back to last February, when the Mayor, used the Town Hall to distribute Covid 19 vaccine to people over 65 on a first come, first served basis, in conjunction with Emergency Management. The Manager and Attorney had a fit that she would do this, without their permission....Here we go again...

Louis: In hindsight, I have to completely agree with you...
Part of Schaefer's "luster", was he was doing more than other "Big City Mayors" at the time he was in office.
The problem with "Idealists", is they lead rather sheltered lives, and really don't comprehend what others go through on a day to day basis. One fact of life, is that while Tax exempt non profits attract intellectuals and endowments, they do not contribute to the coffers of city government. Ordinary people, have to contribute more to make up the difference. When you ask for too much then city life becomes too expensive, and people leave for more affordable surroundings. When you chase "dirty" ratables...(ie.Industrial concerns"), you take away other peoples means of earning a living , further complicating the financing. Now throw in the specter of corruption...and you have a modern American city.
