1/87th Vehicles

I went to poking around in the clearance rack at the local Wal-Mart and some of those 1:87 scale Ford and Dodge vans, 1974 and 1975, respectively. They usually go for almost $2. They were clearance priced at 50 cents each! I snagged 4 of them on the spot. One of them has a graphic on it that I like, it looks like a landscape. The other three are gonna get the nail polish remover treatment to remove the graphics.

Great snag hey Jeff? Any John Deere sets available there, they should be $35.

Ted, thanks for the update, I have one minivan coming, but the rest are sports cars.

There was no photo intended. I was just responding to another message saying that I picked up the MotorMax cars that every one was talking about. I walked out with the Pinto Cruiser Wagon, the red Ford Escort, the white Ford Escort, and the Yellow AMC Pacer.

I saw those a while back but never grabbed them and now I'm sorry that I didn't because they are all gone. They must have been put out on clearance and they are gone.

I grabbed 2 of each style when I saw them at one of my local Wal-Mart's. I'm hoping that I've got enough cars for awhile.

I checked into another Wal*mart today, no for sale cars, no fresh cherries, and no Matchbox CXT's (I took the 4 they had last time I was there). Still 5 John Deere sets (well 4 now ;) ).

The Furuta AE86 (Toyota Corolla) as well as the Honda Integra Type-R (yep.. it's a HONDA overseas) is a bit undersized as well. I'd say these were about 1:91 or so, and look about the same physical size as my Herpa 1:87 VW Scirocco.

Cheers,
Harry

Hey Ron,
Didn't think anyone knew I wasn't here....lol...
I've been busy at work, short handed. The facility I work in just had a hiring spree and a new class of trainees will be going thru. As for me, I'm getting tired of the same old 12 to 16 hour shifts. I've been working so much OT and Uncle Sam is already getting off to a good start this year with my money.
As for my layout, I'm still working on mapping that out. I'm waiting on the income tax return to fall into my bank account before I finish the garage. The house is 25 years old but the garage is only two. The guy who owned it before me put it up and never insulated or finished putting up the walls so I am going to do that. Plus run some electrical wiring and outlets to the loft so I can start with the benchwork of my layout.

I was at one of the Walmarts in my area and picked up another one of the Motor Max Fresh Cherries cars; the Gremlin. I also found where they were hiding the vans everyone was talking about and picked up about 10 different ones of those at 1.00 each. They were hidden in the aisle with the bikes which is where our "toy clearance" aisle is for that Walmart. Also picked the Caterpillar water tanker and the Auger.

I got a very nice Volvo excavator in 1/87th scale today made by Cararama, i'll get a picture later, it's NICE and was only £5

Hi,
I'm new here and although I've asked this question on other forums without any luck, I'm not giving up. Anybody ever seen a 1:87 scale Delorean? I want to model the BTTF III Delorean for the BAD Western.
Thanks, Doc

here as promised is my new Volvo excavator

Sheesh they took long enough, but my Furuta cars are here! I'd have to guess most sale in around 1:92 to 1:98, but this is my best source for some more sporty cars!

I'm going to see if I can get a few more of the sports cars, the minivan leaves a bit to be desired.

So, I've put a bid out on the RX8, Celica, R32 Skyline, & Acura NSX. I'll have a nice mix of sporty Asian cars, now to add more American cars...

Cars at Wally........

The two Wally Worlds near me have become stagnant in their car selection.
I was able to find the vans in another section too, but the selection was only 3 variants of the same model....
I did manage to find some Norscot caterpillar models and have purchased 5 pieces of equipment at $6.00 each. :)

Time to head for the big "K". :D

Sadly, no, but it would be a good candidate for "Fresh Cherries" line of their clunkers. I saw a guy take a matchbox Delorean and add Mr. Fusion and a Flux capacitor with N Scale wheels, but it was ok that it was oversized, because he pushes it with a Tyco 4-6-0 which is about the same scale. So it worked out good. ;)
