I woke up and it’s cloudy.
. I need to work on the foundation ICF wall covering and water proofing around the window in the window well. I got the big dead thistles out and a stack of wood that had been placed in the bottom yesterday so that if you had to escape you were within 18” of the ladder. (Make city inspector happy).
Today I’m going to glue some foam sheeting to the foundation at the top of the foam so that water doesn’t go down behind it. The foam was placed along the foundation ICF before backfilling to help keep rocks from penetrating the actual ICF at backfill time.
Since we’re down below the window in the window well the top of the foam is showing. After I glue it to the side I’ll apply Semco waterproofing to the foam and the foam / wall joint and the whole foundation ICF wall up to outside the window well. Then apply the “Styro TUFF II” coating. Basically an acrylic or stucco like stuff to the hole thing. (It already was done in that area before backfill but has been damaged and sagged etc. )
I’ll pressure wash it before apply the waterproofing to make sure it’s clean. I’d hoped today would be like yesterday. Clear and blue and 85F.
Right. Ownits 70F and cloudy but it says only 10% chance of precipitation each hour except 12 noon which is 30% and starting at 5pm it clears up and shows clear and 0%. So I think I’ll risk the gluing now with some fast dry construction cement.
It says the high is 81F supposedly and sunny to prow and 82f but then like 4 days of 30-50% chance of storms or rain. That usually means one or two short episodes of rain each day.
I’ll hopefully be able to apply a coat of Semco tonight and another in the morning and be able to apply the stucco stuff tomorrow afternoon so that it can dry before any rain Sunday. I may have to wait until the middle of next week for the second stucco stuff coat and then more clear Semco on top. Then I can put gravel at the base of the window welll and be done with it.
