Day wrapping up for me. Did I get any of my planned items done? Let's see... pond water change - nope. Rained too hard all day. If it reduced to a misting, I would have been fine. Didn't feel like getting soaked. Headlight install - nope. Did find the red lamp, but I had a bright white LED installed in it. Removed it and found that I don't have a 402 size amber LED. So that went on order.
So, to do something, I tried drybrushing. Added equal parts of the flat blue (that was way too shiny of all things) and flat base, which is kind of milky in color. That lightened up the paint quite a bit. Found a wide brush (or so I thought) and dipped a couple of bristle ends in, dabbed most of it off on a piece of paper and then started lightly painting some 3d print supports. Yeah, I can see how that would work to lighten up the top ridges of clothing and leave the darker stuff behind - shadows. But then I painted a larger piece with full coverage and found that the mix that I made is perfect for what I need. Since it is 50/50, I can duplicate it.
Then I removed the resistors from my battery operated lighting to get the cars to have the same level of brightness as all the other stuff I have. Did manage to not melt any of the cars as I didn't remove the light strip.
And also installed an ESU decoder into my Pannier tank to see if I could tune it in to run on DC like my ToM decoder does. Nope, it doesn't like something. Might be my MRC Tech 3 as it does provide some spikes to the DC to help with slow speed running.
Anyway, wrote to ESU and waiting their response. The loco is jerky and vibrates as it is starting to accelerate in both directions.
On the health and fitness side of things, I did push out 50 pushups in a single set. Last year I got 70. Used to do 100. Need to start doing these again and get that number back up. I'll probably be hurting tomorrow...
So, a somewhat uneventful day coming to an end. Running trains right now, watching KISS video clips and will be watching Under the Dome later.
