We call them Relay Boxes.

Who said we talk the same language? 🤣
And when I was working in the NS Signal Dept. we called them a signal case (or just case) but if it was big enough to get inside, we called it a signal house (or just a house). What signal equipment was called could vary from railroad to railroad in the US.
Winston Churchill said the US and the UK were "divided by a common language." 😄

some sources place a Great Pyrenees' bite force in the range of 500-600 psi
Good lord, I had no idea! I was surrounded by more than a dozen. Considering the size of their jaws it could have been a blood bath!

They could not have been nicer to me, thank God. I will never forget the old girl escorting me, keeping the youngsters from jumping on me to play with me. Those "bears: would have knocked me on my ass! The respect they showed for her was amazing.

And I'll never forget the kiss I got when I closed the gate. One young "bear" put his paws on top of the gate and as I pet him to say goodbye I got a big kiss on my face, magnificent dogs! 😁
Terry you’re the moderator THAT automatically makes you crazy. You do a great job and while I know I test you, I appreciate what u do for this great forum
I'll second that!
How does this create 7300 new jobs in Baltimore?
Politicians and the media wouldn't exaggerate or flat out lie to us, would they? "We can't handle the truth!"
Seems like it eliminates the jobs of those who had to unload and reload all of those containers.
Regardless, the expansion is long overdue. The port, CSX and most of all, the economy will appreciate it. I see the trains in Curtis Bay waiting for the containers to be restacked from singles to doubles, sometimes it takes days!

This project was supposed to have been done years ago, before they expanded the port on the east side, Seagirt Marine terminal opened in 1990. In 2013 a new 50‑foot deep berth and four Super Post‑Panamax cranes became operational, allowing Baltimore to handle some of the world’s largest container ships. But the tunnel was still not ready.

We just got credits for our energy bills from the state of Maryland. Everybody got it, not just the elderly and poor, everybody!

I quit here because this is all political bull 💩 If I haven't gone too far already.

Dobies are the best! I miss my Dobie mix every day. He was a total cuddle mutt at home, put himself to bed at 8 p.m. every night. All I had to say was "wanna ride in the truck?" and he was out the door like a shot straight to the passenger side door. Super smart. I got pulled over one night with him in the truck, after asking for my license the cop commented "Is that your buddy?" looking at Bud. Bud slowly turned his head to face the cop , curled his lip and let out a low growl. With that the cop handed me back my license, told me to keep it under the limit, walked back to his car and pulled off. Good dog!! His best buddy was my Maine Coon cat at 19 lbs, He was 70 lbs.View attachment 242449
We lost Bud about 4 Years ago at the age of 4 to Von Willebrand's disease. A disease that Dobies are susceptible too. We always knew he was a mixed breed, and his stature, and demeaner said Doberman, but I was never sure where the erect ears and the white on his coat came from.

Dats eNuff dogz for now. Miss ya Bud!!
Awww lovely, I suspect looking at the colours, the white tipped paws yours is part collie, here in the uk black and white is popular and they are often smarter than their owners, which appears to fall in line.
I loved all my Dobbies but this one was a real character,as is yours much missed.

Morning all,

Got to get on the laundry shortly as I'm out of socks. Wife wants me doing it only on one day so I wash fewer, but bigger loads.

Not much happening. I have a shorter day work week as i have to attend a conference on Friday, so I cut my hours through the week.

My wife does laundry every day. When we had to replace our washing machine, she was concerned that the new machines all started with a minimum water load much higher than our old one as she sometimes (most times) does very tiny loads.

I wear stuff that dries in minutes, so dryer is not needed.
