Happy anniversary to all those celebrating. And happy birthday as appropriate.

I lost track as I was catching up. Sorry.

Sunny today after a rainy yesterday. Trying to get the mesh attached to the wall around the window in the window will so I can start the acrylic stucco stuff.

Had a bunch of ladies from church here this morning big helping paint doors and baseboards. Wife’s day off so they come and help and she orchestrates.

It is amazing how I can make the simplest task into a grueling ordeal.
We strapped the boat down and slowly drove home where we man-handled the trailer behind the garage.
NOW, I had my ordeal. The battery is in an enclosed compartment. My 80 yro knees do not like extended contact with the floor.
I quickly disconnected the battery cables and moved the cables out of the way. The battery hold down strap is a plastic fabric with a plastic buckle.
In 20 minutes, I used several drunken sailor expressions as I tried to get the strap loose. I finally managed to work a key into the fabric around the buckle to loosen the strap enough to remove the battery.
I managed to extend a 5 minute task into a 50 minute ordeal. And my knees still hurt.
Old cushions, old pillows all good in the garage throw on floor as required,
I have to do a full bend over then walk my fingers along the floor then do a push down and lower my self to floor, most of the time my knee is like ok and sometime ffs and I do not risk it,
Reverse mode = push up shuffle feet forward til feet almost reach hands stand up…..the results of old age and ankle and knee injury,
cushions and pillows good for floor under layout playing with wires…which I like to con the other half into
Occasionally the other half’s hand twitches when I get up or down,
but it gets the evil eye because if I am in part way through manoeuvre mode and he slaps my axxe there is a chance he sets my knee off.
He has that glint in his eye….yeah prior to injury I woulda got a doof (hand makes a slapping motion) but he knows I would sulk for Britain if he set my knee off leaving me in pain….cheeky little bugger (‘well not so little he is um 8 inches taller than me.
But pillows and cushions old ones left in garage protects the knees :)

I finished the holly bush removal project yesterday by screening 10 wheelbarrows of dirt and filling in the 3 foot hole that was created in the process. I also added 12 bags of Scott's topsoil conditioner and Kentucky blue grass seed that should germinate in 18 days. I woke up tired this morning but that's got to end because it's a golf day and I have to get ready to head over to Dogwood golf course soon. Swal

That looks like the perfect beginning of a fire pit.

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those with butt pillows, or whatever Jazz was using for her knees...

It's Troy again.

Next: had mexican for dinner. Wife is having a continuation of hell month at work. She's got three different projects all dropping at once on almost identical schedules, plus everything else in her job. She had to take an hour out for dinner, while she waited on someone in a different time zone to get their part done. She's back at the grindstone now.

I'll deliver her a mai tai once I know she's off the computer for the evening.

No poo on the evening walk. Hoping the perp is getting their act together. The more I think about it, I strongly suspect the board member with the aged Irish Setter. Elderly dog, that she walks in the time window each morning before I walk. Always on the phone as she walks.

I feel like I should be working on the layout, but I'm still have gaming stuff to do. Need to make up four lists for running demo games in two weekends.

Instead, Imma sit here and read the internet now that we don't have to kill Robots to dial in on AOL.

Good afternoon to all................

Willie said : All of the models have the appropriate horn, which differs from one engine to another. I believe that some are Leslie's and some are Nathan's
I trust you will return the appropriate horns to Leslie and Nathan respectively. 😜😜😜😜
I'll bet all six locos running together make a site to behold. Thanks for sharing photos.

A quick trip back to town in a bit to purchase what I forgot to buy last Monday. I gotta start writing this stuff down.........but I usually forget to.

Maybe a bit of work on the layout later.

Our dry cleaners closed down on the 1st of July. I did not know this until I went by there last Monday to drop off a comforter that needs laundering. The comforter is way too much for my washer. So now I will have to travel 65 (one way) miles to nearest "cleaners". I talked to the owner of the cleaners and he told me his business dropped off during "covid", and he was closed for about 2 months, about a year ago, when his brother unexpectedly passed away. He said the business just never did pick back up enough to keep it going. At 65, he said he is ready for retirement and set for that and will try to find a buyer for the business. I don't see the cleaners ever opening again.

Much happiness to all sharing many happily married years with their spousal units.
I divorced mine 40 years ago. Unfortunately, she passed away on July 8th of this year at age 69.

Is there something I'm missing here on folks posting their photos upside down?

Everyone have a great afternoon/evening.........John

Good evening all, internet was out most of the day here, got home from Church and it was working again.
Happy Anniversaries and Birthdays as appropriate.
Spent some time today changing magazine releases on a pair of Ruger 10/22s to a new style that doesn't drop magazines if you looked crosswise at the release. Waiting for some new Kato switches to arrive to replace some others that were cannibalized elsewhere on the layout.

I would be interested to see what you did. My Ruger 10/22 Takedown is fine with the 10 shot magazine, but has trouble holding on to a 25 round magazine (also made by Ruger)

Good morning. It's clear and 72.
My new heat pump was installed yesterday, and last night was the first time I slept in my new bed. The last couple of weeks have been spent on the couch, with a fan blowing on me. It made a massive difference, I had to adjust the temp up, it was 68 in the afternoon, with it 87 outdoors.

I'm up!

Coffee for me. Already had my cup of yogurt and two oatmeal raisin cookies.

Today the cat and I each get our shots. He's on the arthritis protocol shot. I get a Covid booster. That will probably knock me on my butt for a day starting tomorrow.

So, I did up my author newsletter this morning, and have it scheduled to go out on Saturday morning. This week is the tale of Lord Fuzzbutt and the case of the missing poo. That was fun trying to write tastefully.
