We ate dinner one night, on the river cruise, with a cancer researcher from Cleveland. He said obesity, red meat, and genetics were major factors in cancer development, but poor diet is a factor in many preventable diseases. I asked about sugar and he said the only role it played was increasing the obesity factor. The processed meat issue falls into the red meat area.
We discussed a company I am invested in, Grail, and their Galeri cancer screening test. It can identify over 50 types of cancers using the spike proteins/DNA that the cancer cells shed off. He was surprised it's approved for Tri-Care, but is still waiting for final Medicare approval. He believes it's about a year off before the final Medicare approval. It is also HSA approved.
Galleri screens for cancer signal shared by 50+ cancers. See the list of diagnosed cancers after a "Galleri Cancer Signal Detected" result.

My Dr is doing a 1 day clinic next week for those that want to take the test. It's discounted a couple hundred, but still expensive right now. I'm taking it just because with all the skin cancers I want to make sure there's not a possible melanoma. What's unique about the test is that it can identify cancer in stage 0. Most stomach, pancreatic, colon, etc cancers are never diagnosed until they are at stage 3-4.
