I too had 027 at the time, Lionel and a Marx set. Thanks for the memories. I was running 027 Lionel trains in those days on my bedroom floor.
I too was 4 years old in 1952.Rooty Kazootie...wow! I was four in 1952. Kukla, Fran , and Ollie...yes, I remember that one too...just recently learned than Fran...stage name Fran Allison came from the same town I did, (Chester, PA), Her full name, Frances Allison Brill. Her father was a prominent physician. Winky Dink, that was the program where you needed a special screen, so you could draw on the TV...The Host was Jack Barry, notorious for being the host of the infamous $64,000. Question. "Andy's Gang", (Andy Devine), was the replacement for "Pete's Gang" hosted by Pete Boyle. Amos and Andy, was considered adult fare in my house. But I remember "Gunsmoke" on the radio. Still on in 1956. Anyone remember Soupy Sales? Funny thing was, when I came to Jersey in 1986, Arleen Frances of What's My Line fame, still had a daily radio show on WNEW AM, (WNEW FM was Hard Rock), and Soupy Sales had an afternoon radio show on WNBC.
My first train was a MARX O-27 with clockwork drive...

There was one of these that showed a track going down the street with shops and porches overhanging the tracks. Shop owners would fold up just barely ahead of the train and lower back down immediately as the train passed! Is this the Indian version of Space Saver Shopping ?
