Thanks for the memories. I was running 027 Lionel trains in those days on my bedroom floor.
I too had 027 at the time, Lionel and a Marx set.
A few more that might bring a smile
Snarky Parker and Pinhead (may have been local in NY)
Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney
Jimmy Nelson and Farfe (Nestle's in the very best chocolate)
Circus Boy
Fury
Wild Bill Hickock (Guy Madison and Andy Devine) "Wild Bill, wait for me")
Of course, Roy, Gene, Hoppy, Lone Ranger and Lash LaRue
Rin Tin Tin
Lassie (Tommy Reddy and June Lockheart)
We certainly had a great variety of shows to watch. Some of these can be found on YouTube.

Rooty Kazootie...wow! I was four in 1952. Kukla, Fran , and Ollie...yes, I remember that one too...just recently learned than Fran...stage name Fran Allison came from the same town I did, (Chester, PA), Her full name, Frances Allison Brill. Her father was a prominent physician. Winky Dink, that was the program where you needed a special screen, so you could draw on the TV...The Host was Jack Barry, notorious for being the host of the infamous $64,000. Question. "Andy's Gang", (Andy Devine), was the replacement for "Pete's Gang" hosted by Pete Boyle. Amos and Andy, was considered adult fare in my house. But I remember "Gunsmoke" on the radio. Still on in 1956. Anyone remember Soupy Sales? Funny thing was, when I came to Jersey in 1986, Arleen Frances of What's My Line fame, still had a daily radio show on WNEW AM, (WNEW FM was Hard Rock), and Soupy Sales had an afternoon radio show on WNBC.
My first train was a MARX O-27 with clockwork drive...
I too was 4 years old in 1952.
I remember Soupy Sales. I believe his show replaced Kukla, Fran and Ollie when they moved on.
There was an incident that nearly ended his career, Sales jokingly told his young viewers on his syndicated show to "take some of those green pieces of paper with pictures of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Lincoln and Jefferson on them" from their parents' wallets and send them to him, and he would send them a postcard from Puerto Rico. Several young viewers did send Sales some money, but all were returned. He was suspended from television for two weeks, but the incident made his show "cool" and boosted his ratings when he returned to the air.
Being a kid in the 50s and early 60s was good. Not so much now.

HUGHIE ... Same here ... my mom packed up the Mark set #999 box and all when I left home and I still have it!

I missed seeing 'SKY KING' on your list there?

It's mostly cloudy out here - starting to break up a little. Looking for my favorite number of 69f for a high today. The weather still is on the low temp side for this time of year! We have used 50% more electricity this year and for the first time in 10 years - I may have to pay the electric company due to all the cloudy and rainy days and operating a couple electric heaters even though the gas bills have been horrendous!

Afternoon all,

Headed to the dentist in a bit. Got the first coat of paint on the closet, then sanded and prepped the bathroom. I will paint the 2nd coat in the closet and first coat in the bathroom when I get home. Even had a few minutes to spray the bindweed. Surprised at how much of it it popping up this year. It has been dry and a lot of the backyard died back last year. Still no rain, forecasted tomorrow through the weekend, but I don't think we'll get enough to matter.

Guy: I hear you on the doing reno stuff, although the new paint brightens the rooms.

Afternoon All,

Started out with a walk at a chilly 56F this morning and getting to 81F later. The wife paroled me again today from the bookfair, but I fear that freedom is fleeting ;) Today I trimmed the wooden trunks on my sage trees and drilled a hole in the bottom of the 9 trunks with a hand drill, then CA'd a track nail in the hole (support when on the layout). Next step is to CA the branches on the trunks and main branches, but I don't know if my freedom will continue tomorrow.

Sherrel- I'm also a fan of the Jesse Stone movie series. I can't do hot sauce or really hot food due to reflux issues.

TomO- I hope you are able to figure out what's causing your dizziness.

David- Great videos.

Smudge- Sounds like one less online seller to use.

Willie- Nice scenes. Wow, I haven't thought about Rick Wakeman since the 70's.

I hope everyone has a good night.
