I mentioned Southern Sweet Tea in a previous incarnation of the Coffee Shop after I accidentally forgot to order "unsweetened".
In a 20 ounce tea glass, combine:
19 ounces cane sugar
1 ounce fresh-brewed orange pekoe/pekoe cut black tea

Sweeten to taste.

After that, you shouldn't need a plane to get back to Colorado...

YIIIKKES!!!!:eek::eek:----I like that ---sweeten to taste---you sure they have any taste buds left??

Good Evening--

Got a buncha stuff done---such as taking the little 'Spring' to the vets---and then having to get him off from the cabinet tops--jumping from one to the other. Vet likes these visits--tells a few customers about his antics---very healthy cat this one!!:D:D Then it was off to cozy little restaurant and have jibber jabber with Audrey and some friends of ours who now own the place---then it was off to get some oil paints for Audrey---4 6.75oz tubes for $115.45----after we paid the lovely sales tax:eek::mad:---and we talk about MR being expensive---sheeesh!!!

CULTR----:D:D:D

*EASH* $456 to fix the exhaust leak on my car, and another ~$500 quoted for the power steering. I'm going to order the power steering components myself and install them later this month myself.

I gotta go to town today to see about getting a busted molar pulled. Dentist wants $102. My father says he'll pay for it. Ordinarily I'd put up with the pain but right now I can't take the risk of getting any kind of infection.

Found out that I can't get the tooth pulled today. The dentist is booked solid all day but they have me down for 8:15 tomorrow morning. Later today The Vernon Home Health nurse is coming to change my dressings and I'm expecting a new shipment of home iv antibiotics today. All that today then the dentist tomorrow and two doc appointments Thursday. No rest for the wicked I guess.

Good afternoon folks

I have been home all day sick. I have a cough and the chills. I also feel exhausted. I do not have fever. I slept until noon which is something I never do. This is the first I have gotten onto the computer today. My daughter is also home with the same thing. Hopefully we will both be better tomorrow.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Tom - hope you'll feel better soon. You probably needed the rest anyway, given your super-busy lifestyle.

Chris - My employer uses a fleet of Kubotas exactly like the ones in your pictures, they make quick work of that 500+ acres of turf!

Josh, I feel your pain on that exhaust repair. I had to pay ~$900 to replace the exhaust on our 1992 Toyota Camry; it was rusted to the point that hitting one good-sized pothole would make it break in half. I wish I had the shop facilities to do more car repairs myself. Of course even if I did, I'm not quite as agile as I was in my teens and early 20's.

I'm currently in a limbo phase with my layout. I reached the conclusion that my existing setup, with its duckunders and narrow aisles, just don't cut it anymore. At least not if I want to keep hosting op sessions. I sent a floor diagram of my garage to one of the guys this past weekend, he says he's devised a duck-free plan that has all the givins and druthers of my existing layout. But he's going out of town until next week. I'm on pins and needles waiting to see what he came up with. Much as I dread the thought of tearing down my main line, having this new/improved track plan to look forward to will [hopefully] give me the motivation to roll up my sleeves and get to work, and keep at it.

The Manifold is shot on mine... The part is in, I'll have it installed tomorrow morning.

The high pressure line for the power steering should be in this weekend, got it for $56 with shipping from Autozone, compared to the $233 they quoted me!

I'd much rather be in a Toro 5900 with the Cab over! At 15 acres and hour, with that kinda productivity more time can be spent at the water cooler too BS!:D:D

Good morning everyone.

We are in day one of like nine days of rain in the forecast. I've decided to scrap the layout and build an Ark instead!:D The foam should float quite nicely.

Ken, I can tell you are excited about the possible rebuild. I think that it's that anticipation that causes finished layouts to meet the wrecking ball. It's a chance to see if your hindsight was indeed right or wrong on the last layout.

Tom, I'm not surprised that you are sick. Haven't you been taking care of a sick child for weeks now? Yup, it's your turn!:) Hope you feel better.

Though I picked up the layout the other day, it's cluttering up quite nicely already! I have a couple of kits in various stages of progress right now. With winter slowly approaching, I have to paint as many kits as I can before the big freeze. I feel like that construction crew that lolly gags all summer, then works overtime in the fall to close it up before it snows. Self made crisis!:D Ohwell, my town area is filling in nicely with this 'stimulus'.

I suppose I should go to work.:(
I hope you all have a great day.:)

Went and got the tooth pulled this morning. WHAT A RELIEF! One thing, if a dentist ever tells you 'this won't hurt a bit', grab onto something and hold on tight, cause it's gonna be a wild ride. Now, for the visit to the dentist. I arrived a little before 8 am so I was right there when the doors were unlocked. I filled out the necessary paperwork, the stuff you have to do when it's your first visit and you have no insurance. It wasn't long before I was called for my turn in 'the chair'. The dentists assistant got me ready and took an X-ray so the dentist would know what he's dealing with. OK, front lower molar on the right side, cavity there and big abscess. I could have done without those last three words for now I knew this wasn't going to be quick and easy. Now the dentist enters the room and has a look at the tooth first hand, as if there'd be something there the X-ray couldn't tell him. Who knows, maybe there was. He then picks up a curved wicked looking tool with a needle on it that could be used to drill for oil under Mt Everest and proceeded to put it in my mouth and before I quite knew what was happening he pushed it down between the tooth and gum, not once but several times. He pulls it back out and leaves the room for a bit presumably to work on somebody else while the numbing agent did it's work or maybe to have a good laugh, who knows which. At this point the right side of my face feels like it's sliding off my skull. I tried to say something but my tongue wouldn't move. It was at this time that I discovered my mouth was hanging open and I tried to close it but couldn't. It just hung open feeling like a limp noodle. A few minutes passed and the dentist reappears and taps the offending tooth. OUCH! It's still a mite sensitive. In goes the oil exploration needle again then he disappears for about five minutes. When he returns he taps the tooth again. I can still feel it a bit but it's not a sharp pain anymore. Now he picks up something that looks like a largish pick and peels the gum away from all sides of the tooth then grabs his extractor (pliers by any other name) and says 'now this won't hurt a bit' and grabs the tooth and hauls back toward the ceiling. I tell you what, there weren't enough places on that chair for me to grab hold of as I'm being hauled up off of it. Now while he's hauling upward he also twists the pliers from side to side then there's a wet pop. Suddenly the pain from the tooth was gone and I fell back in the chair wondering if the side of my face had hit the floor yet. I checked and found it still securely attached. Then they showed my the tooth. I could see why he needed the big long needle. That thing had roots some plants would kill for. Total cost of the procedure, $102. Well worth it in my opinion.
