Evening, everyone.

It was a nice sunny day here for once, with a high of 73. That's warmest it's beenGot nothing done but pay the bills that piled up in my absence and get about ten minutes in the sun trimming a few crepe myrtles. The city takes over our garbage collection on March 1st. We still have to put our household trash in a can but I can take all my bush and tree trimmings and just throw them out in the street and the city will come along with a truck with a big crane and pick them up. It's the only place I've ever lived in that has this kind of service. Kind of weird but I have a ton of stuff that needs to pruned and cut, so I should keep the city crane busy for a few months.

Jimbo, The Park I use to work at was in a town (San Antoino) that had that service! Every 1st. Monday of the month they would pick up tree trimmings and yard debris. They do that To incurage people to keep their yard, trees, and over all landscape neat and orderly by offering free hauling! I wish Spring Hill would do that!

Matt at least your first vehical needs are cheap......My son wants a Corvette and a Motorcycle for his first vehicals:eek::eek: Matt the truck's and sports cars are not only more expensive on fuel but the Insurence will kill you! I got 3 more years to talk my son in to a crap box car!;) Although my sons first vehical may be my truck....He doesn't like that Idea:( But at least it's paid for!

Well, this morning we're going to Bush Gardens today! so if'n I'm not around don't get too happy, I WILL RETURN!:D They have a free concert (Huey Lewis and The News) They must be at least 100 years old by now:D Either way I use to like the group when I was a kid, Would be nice to see them before they kick the bucket!;):D Sad, all the groups i grew up with are OLD now! I always got a kick out of Alice Cooper! I seen that guy in concert when I was in high school and he was as old as dirt then.........Every now and then he crawls out of the grave to rock out:rolleyes:.

Well, let me finish my morning list-to-do's!

Good Morning-

I'm having lotsa sun and a high of 5C today:):) Tomorrow back to snow, wind, and "grrr get outa my way grrrr" drivers to contend with:eek::mad::mad: Between 4-6" of the dang stuff is expected:eek:

Jim That yard clean up is a good thing---think of all the mulch they get!:D:D And we do the same thing up here and I buy even more of the mulch to also place on my perrenials:):) My neighbour and I are staring at the 25-30' privet hedge and thinking about trimming it down to about 10-15'.:eek: The city guys are going to NEED that crane here! We have a 75' long hedge to contend with.

Chris My very first car when I turned 16 was a 1957 Rambler American station wagon!:D Alice Cooper is great! I saw that guy only a short while ago---last year here in London. There seems to be a lot of well preserved R and R'ers still playing out there----:D:D:D

Well, gotta do church stuff AFTER church today then Audrey and I will be heading out to our favourite little restaurant for a little repast of sorts:D:D

Have a good one people!!:):)

Jim- I dont necessarily need a biggerr truck, but where i live, the people offering used trucks in my price range are usually farmers who have the larger trucks. Granted there is a ton of 1500 and smaller trucks, but anything smaller isnt practical for the roads at my camp, and if i follow my family history i should be somewheres between 6'5'' and 6'7'', and my grandpas ranger is already a bit uncomfortable to ride around in now. Id settle for a 1500 without any problem what so ever, and i can honestly see myself giving an offer to my uncle for his dodge. I could give up the request for 6500lbs of towing, i really dont think my dad would let me tow the camper anyways. But i would be towing a full enclosed snowmobile/atv trailer around, which could be pulled with a ranger, but then it goes back to my height. My commute to and from school might be 1000 yards, and the farthest job im applying for away would be about 5 miles, and the closest about 800 yards. The trimming removal service reminds me of what they do here, you place your stuff out by the edge of the road and the town comes and picks it up with either a chipper or a pickup. Now the big vacumn truck for leaves in the fall is cool.

Chris- I never got into the sports car scene like your son, ive always enjoyed the muscle cars, 69' Chevelle SS, Red with Black stripes or Blue with white. :D. Bikes are cool, but only in the spring and summer up here. Ever heard of Americade?

Jeffrey, sounds like the home health agency got their wires crossed. At least that's one less appointment you have to hang around and wait for. sounds like a nice little haul of freight cars.
That's one appointment I don't mind scratching off the list. UPS will be coming by to pick up the wound vac tomorrow. Not soon enough for me to see the back side of it. On the haul of the freight cars I quite agree. Some of them are a bit on the old side, probably in the 70's. At least three of them still have the big flat tread pizza cutter wheels, including an old Tyco Pennsylvania caboose. I looked it up on the Tyco site and it is of the brown box era. It's still in it's box and appears to be in near mint condition. Too bad Tyco stuff like that has next to no value. I have an old plastic wood side caboose that was made in Yugoslavia that's probably worth about the same. It's most notable feature is that that the cupola roof is rounded with two slit windows facing front and rear and the caboose body has two four pane windows on each side and two single pane windows on each side of the cupola. The platform steps are what got my attention though. They appear to be quite wide compared to other cabooses I have, three scale feet. The biggest detractor on it is that the couplers sag way too much. I'll have to put some kind of shim in the coupler boxes or replace the boxes altogether.

Um Chris, Alice is only 62, not quite old as dirt. Huey is 2 years younger. You might want to watch the age jokes, before Jim & Rex (among others) pound you into the Flori-duh dirt!!! LOL! :D

Hey, at least they arn't as old as The Who, and unbelievably, they can still get a gig!

Good morning. It's 55 and cloudy. The high will be in the mid 60's and there's a 50% chance of thunderstorms.

Today I'll be giving my attention to two identical boxcars I recently received. They're both Slovenian made IHC offerings with roller bearing trucks fitted with flat tread pizza cutter wheels. They appear to have been painted with an enamel type paint that was on the verge of obscuring what little rivet details the cars have. Both of the cars have both plug doors and sliding doors. The roof and doors may have been done with an airbrush. It's a bit hard to tell at this point. If I decide to strip them the evidence of whether it was done with an airbrush or a rattle can will come out as the rattle can paint will tend to be thicker. They have Life-Like type truck mounted knuckle couplers. Right now I'm not sure if I'll do away with them and body mount Kadee's or change out the the car bottoms altogether.

Good morning all. Rain yesterday evening and forecasted rain for today. It's looking okay at the moment. NASCAR in Fontana will probably have rain delays.

Jim - When I was modeling before, my favorite store was "The Ironhorse" in Brea. reminded me of the old day hobby shops. Dark, dingy. The "old guys" sitting around talking shop. They had everything.

Chris - Back in 1991, I played golf with Alice Cooper. A really friendly down-to-earth guy. Nothing like his stage persona. It was a great afternoon and evening with him.

Neil Young is a big model railroad enthusiast. He had/has a layout that is able to travel with him when he toured.

Good evening

Audrey and I went out after I got the church paperw**k got done and found a neat little restaurant just out of town. Then we went cruising around---reason?---we had LOTSA SUN!!!:D:D:D----now we'll pay for that with several crappy days:(:(

Now, I's be doing some stuff in the basement-----;):):)

Did you hear that the Redneck Mayor's Mansion burned down?
'Yep.. Prit'near took out the whole trailer park..
The library was a total loss too. Both books went
poof . . . up in flames and the Mayor hadn't
even finished coloring one of them.'

I had so many plans for working on some freight cars today but I was down and out before 11 am. I had an unexpected blood sugar crash that sent my level down to 46 even though I had a descent breakfast earlier. At that point I'm virtually colorblind. Things didn't improve much after eating and I was really tired as well. I intended to get a 1 hour nap. That turned into 4 hours, but I felt much better. Still haven't touched the cars though. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm Back!:D:eek: Hey Huey was great! Him and his band sound the same today as they did in 86'. he put on a 80 minute show and didn't suffer a stroke doing it!;):p:D All kidding aside.........the show was great and for free I couldn't ask for more. I got tons of pictures to show as soon as I get them down loaded and filter threw the bad shots. Be back soon.....

Hi gang! Been busy today doing.....ahhh.....forgot what it was, but really, I've been busy all day. We had a high today of 70F, storms tonight, temps gradually going down the rest of the week.

Actually, I spent most of the weekend troubleshooting a Loconet problem. One of my Detection boards (BDL168) was screwing up the communications when more than one throttle was plugged in. Will send it to Digitrax in the morning for repair; it will only cost $20 regardless of what is wrong with it. Big problem is it will take up to 20 working days to get it back. I can still run, but not with signals or auto route setup.

Jim: The gov can't take back more than we made, but some get back more than they made (just be on welfare and have a gaggle of kids) ...isn't that a crock.
We didn't get much snow. Most of it was all down your way. I'm really glad to see you active on here again ;):).

Um Chris, Alice is only 62, not quite old as dirt. Huey is 2 years younger. You might want to watch the age jokes, before Jim & Rex (among others) pound you into the Flori-duh dirt!!! LOL!
Yeah, Chris is going to get challenged by Jim to a game of Air-Hard...oops...I meant Air-Soft. Me? I will just radio my friends in the BLACK vans.
Yeah, I was surprised to learn the "Who" would be doing the Super Bowl half time. They did pretty good, but I believe they may want to think about retiring...they just ain't quite the same:rolleyes: (being polite).

Chris: I know what you did yesterday:eek: and I'm going to tell.

Snuck in on me chris:

Beautiful family Chris! ;)

You've lost a lot of weight haven't you? Guess you have thrown it all at Karl and Barry! LOL :D

Chris- looks like you guys had a good time, ive never heard of huey lewis, but i know alice cooper, right about now i wish school was out forever

Jeff- Sorry to hear about the sugar attack, my dad was just telling me a story about one of his old managers. He was a really bad diabetic, and he had a terrible suagr attack one day, fell on the floor, the whole nine yards. Long story short, one of his co-workers wound up punching him to get him to take his pill!

Well its back to school tommorow, its going to be a nice sunny day, high around 40, and im wearing shorts
