Why? The surgeons could have done absolutely nothing wrong. Complications can and do occur without any kind of an outside "force" causing them.

That's why surgeon's tell patients of the possible complications that can occur. The most common of them being hemorrhage, infection, and tissue rupture or tearing.

The surgeon and my wifes Doctor, told her to Take it easy for 3 months! They gave her a green light 3 months out! With the Bypass though, there is many things that you can do to screw it up if your not careful. As my wife say, "Don't PO the Pouch it will kick your A___!"

Good morning. It's 40 and cloudy. the high will be 48 and there's a 60% chance of rain.

I'll be going to town this morning for my weekly visit with the foot doc so he can poke and prod me some more. Afterward I'll likely be working on the ends of the boxcars. I've already done one this morning with a combination of a wash and a dry-brush effect with latex rust paint. Great thing about the stuff is if I make a mistake I can just wipe it off with a damp paper towel.

Good morning folks

It was 37 F and raining on the way in this morning. Our high today will be 39 F. Snow is melting slowly. We could get some more by the week’s end.

Yesterday was one of those days. Saturday the brakes on the van started making a noise equivalent to fingernails on a chalkboard. I took it to the shop and had to have the front brake pads replaced. I had a fear it would be something more.

I have not had much time for trains and I doubt I will this week. We are getting new carpeting on Friday. We are in the process of packing up things so the furniture can be moved around. We still have the usual music lessons and volleyball practice to deal with.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Afternoon

quick top up time for me, busy day today.
Philip good to hear they fixed your wife up, it could have been much worse, thankfully it's not.

Got called out to a domestic garage fire last night and it was only 300 yds from my house, turned out to be a break in, they wrapped towels round the security light on the garage which set it on fire, during the darkness they robbed the house and took everything of value, they even tore up the carpets looking for stuff, money i guess. I really hope they get caught but no doubt they'll be set free with a slapped wrist, no justice anymore

Sign of the time's Pal! One thing to rob someone it's another to trash the place!

Cameras and Light's don't work with those with nothing to loose except their lives, Nice a Gun and a BIG DOG (and may be two little yappers too;)) do a much better job! Crime in my neigborhood is bad, but those houses with a fleet of dogs and crazy gun owning home owner never get robbed:confused: I don't know if that's the reason? Hmmmmmmmm. Mauld by a dog then shot like one by the guy your tring to rob...........

Lose of life is the only thing criminals fear.........No Matter how tough you think you are, the fear of death/Not wanting to die is never totaly out of your mind!

Good morning folks.

Jim, good to hear you're among the living. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Life has been busy this week with a visiting sister in-law and all the family stuff that goes with it. She didn't come home for Christmas so we kind of did Christmas in February. I really shouldn't be eating that much this time of year! I was thinking yesterday that I hadn't touched the layout in over a week, then I asked myself, when would I have done that?:D

I also have my Grandma's house to clean out, fix, and sell some time this spring. What a process that is so far. My family wants nothing to do with it, but wants a say in everything we do. She's still alive so it's not like we can just chuck or donate everything. Being a product of the depression, she thinks everything is worth something. She's right, that lamp is worth a dollar, the pan is worth a quarter! I'm hoping I can get her to let me donate some of it at least. Oh well, I'll get this sucker cleaned out some time in the next few weeks.

Speaking of cleaning her house, that's what I'm off to do today on my day off.:( Maybe I can work on the layout later this afternoon.

Have a great day everyone.

Well, I have popped in three times this morning to see if Phillip had any more news of his wife. I guess that no news is good news!

My boss has a terrible attitude this morning, he thinks I should be working on things to make the company money, instead of enjoying myself reading the forum. Since he influences the money I am able to spend on trains, I'll go back to work!:(
Y'all have a great day!

That's funny, My Boss say's the same thing about me!:eek:

Then I go to the mirror and flip him off and go back to being semi unemployeed!:D;):p

Chris said" Then I go to the mirror and flip him off and go back to being semi unemployeed! "
Obviously, you get along with your boss better than I do with my boss!:D

However, I am able to get away from my boss every day. Yours will nag you 24 hours a day if you let it.
Plus, I only have to put up with mine for a couple more years. Then, I get a guy that always agrees with me.

Ya, but you forget about the men in their funny little white coats that visit me! Once properly medicated and electro shock thep. has been done, I stop fighting with that guy in the mirror! so I do get away from time to time!:D:p;)

Gee, I can't imagine why. Some guy decided he was going to pay a late night uninvited visit on a home out here until he was greeted at the door by three pit bulls who wanted to make him their midnight snack. Last anybody saw of him he was knees, *** and elbows.

It's 42 and dry for the moment. There's a good chance of rain today and a snow storm tonight. My doctors appoint went well enough. The wound on my right foot is just a tiny pinhole now. The wounds on two of my left toes however are proving to be somewhat uncooperative. Arthritis has settled into the joints resulting in hammertoe. The doc thinks he sees a sign of a little cellulitis so he's put me on bactrim and cipro again. Antibiotics for those who don't recognize the names. UPS was to pick up the wound vac from my parent's place yesterday as they were going to be there all day. Well, nobody had showed by 5 pm so they stepped out for 45 minutes. Guess who showed up while they were gone? So today when I went down there the box containing the aforementioned vac was still there. My mother was there in case they showed again but she had to go out to male a bank deposit. Fortunately I was there this time. UPS showed up just 20 minutes after she left. I showed the guy the box, he slapped a label on it and out the door it went. Never have I been happier to see the back side of a piece of medical equipment and I hope I never see one of those things again. Maybe a littlle later today I'll get back to working on those freight cars. I have to relocate the brake wheels on two of them and the third needs some serious attention as it's an unblemished canary yellow from top to bottom. No way can I let that state of affairs continue unchanged.

Afternoon, everyone.

Phillip, I'm glad to hear they got the glitch on the surgery fixed right up. Bariatric surgery carried a a whole hosts of risks. Having a good doctor who can fix you up when something goes wrong is the real key. I do think we have a tendency to find someone to blame when something goes wrong, even when it's part of the normal risks of getting treated. I can't see how we're ever going to decrease the cost of medical care until we reform tort laws and stop docotors from practicing defensive medicine.

Steve, too bad about those people's home. It's one of the reasons why I have fire, smoke, and burglar alarms that are monitored by a central station. It's both silent and has a 120 decibels siren attached in the attic, where it can't be cut. That sucker is so loud it would raise the dead. Between the silent alarm and siren, the cops and/or fire department have gotten here pretty quick the few times we've had a false alarm. I believe in being armed, and trying to get in my house when I'm home would be a big mistake. However, crooks aren't completely stupid, and they'll break in when you're not there. Unless you have a safe system like Bob's, they'll then get all your goods plus your guns. I prefer to put my faith in a good alarm system for when I'm not home. My three fire extinguishers and the Remington 870 should handle things if I am at home. :)

Chris, I thought the crowd we saw at the Eagles concert was old until I saw your pictures. What year did Huey Lewis actually have his last hit. Seems like it wasn't that long ago, but I'm sure it was, especially since Matt never heard of them. :D

It's let's all visit the doctor this week at the Cooke ranchette. Had to got to our ENT yesterday for our 6 month checkup for our Meniere's. Luckily, I'm in what they call a burn out period now, and haven't had a serious attack in a year. Got a note from him saying I'm functionally deaf in my left ear so they'd better have some adaptive hearing devices for me if they want me on a jury - that's March 1st. Tomorrow is ultrasound day for Dianna's liver. March 5 is colonoscopy day for her, so I can't can't wait to hear all the whining and crying as she takes a gallon of that horrible laxative the day before. I told here I've already been through it three times so buck up and don't be complaining all the time. Like that will work...

Number one daughter has flunked out of fundamentals of nursing for the second time and her and Doofus have to find someplace to live since they are being kicked out of their apartment because both of them are lazy, have no steady income, and is surprised that no one want to rent them an apartment when tghey haven't paid the rent on the last one...imagine that! I really hope she ends up living in her car. The faster she hits bottom and realizes that mom and dad are not a search and rescue team, the faster she'll put on her big girl pants and start behaving like an adult.

Nice last few days, with temperatures a little above average. Had a great light show Sunday night, when we had a squall line pass though with elevated thunderstorms. All the lightning was up 8-10k feet in the clouds instead of clouser to the surface, so ever cloud to cloud strike lit up the neighbothood like a flashbulb. We had about a half hour of more or less continuous lightning. Also had another .75 inches of rain, which puts us almost eight inches ahead for the year. Should be interesting tonight, as we'll be right on the edge of the snow/rain line again. Even if we get any snow, it will be too warm to stick, but any snow will break our record of never having it snow two times in the same year. Even the robins that have showed up are wearing sweaters. :) Wasn't there supposed to be some global warming or something?

Not sure about their last hit but I think the last piece they did (2008) was for the theme of the action/comedy film Pineapple Express. The song is featured in the end credits. They returned to the studio in 2010 to start work on their first new album in nearly 10 years. Here's a little trivia. We all know (or we all SHOULD know) that Huey Lewis and the News did the song 'Power of love' for the movie 'Back to the Future'. He also had a cameo appearance in the film. Remember the school faculty member who told Marty that his band was just too darned loud? That was Huey Lewis. Also, the song Marty and his band were playing was an instrumental heavy metal version of 'The Power of Love'.

Ah, the man in the mirror. What lies he tells me each morning. Someday, I'm going to break his face:eek::D.

CHRIS:...We're going back to BG in two weeks! What should the theme be?
Well, we are taking the RV and going to JF in about three weeks. Hope to catch some BF and have a GT.:p:p:D (I guess BG means Busch Gardens?)

Jim: lots of luck with hearing problems getting you out of jury duty. On our summons it says to notify the Circuit Clerk on the first day of any hearing impairments or disabilities so you can be seated accordingly. hehehehe!:D Also, I'm sure they will have plenty of Civil actions where it doesn't matter about your law enforcement background. Heck, after I got started with my duty, I began to enjoy it...just glad I didn't get a really bad and lengthy trial. ;)

Hey you all....Have a good one!:):)

Jeff, Where did you hear they were cutting a new album? Strange they didn't mention it at the concert? Also I think their last album was in 86/87!

Jimbo, It's a Free Concert! Blue hair's down here can't pass up a free anything Or Early Bird Specials!

Last album, 'Live at 25'. It was recorded live at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company in Chico California in December 2004. It celebrated 25 years as a band. The new album is a Stax Records tribute album and is being done at Ardent Studios.

Hey all!

How do?

Had to take the wife back to the docs ttoday for a checkup. Everything looks good, and she's still planning to go to Florida on Thursday. The doc's say she'll be fine for that. She's rebounding really well!
