I finished up the stonework and bridges in front of the mill in Berkmannville, and added weeds and moss. Can I say "Any more realistic and I'll have to worry about poison ivy"? Water in the millpond coming real soon now.

Jeff, you have a nice newcomer to your roster. Very good looking car.

John, I could be in an apartment overlooking this scene. Really well done!

Grampy, superb composition and focus. But those fellas better get busy before the yardmaster comes. :D They could say they're discussing their next move.

Here is my weekly image: a steamer is about to emerge from a timber portal on a hillside illuminated by late afternoon sun.

Ah, the weekend and my favorite thread! Great start already.

I have just been continuing with the engine house I have been scratch building. Haven't had much time to work on it the last couple of weeks.

Here is the last main wall complete with 2 x 6 studing. The walls will from time to time have to carry some major weight when the crew does repairs on the old shay that works this area on the mountain so it is sturdy!

Walls have been assembled and a new base placed under it.

Ties have been laid inside for the track to be placed upon:

Hamltnblue, Wow! I saw this in the other threads. Very, very nice. I look forward to seeing your progress.

I have gotten a bit more done on the Engine House today. Glued the Machine Shop onto the main building.

Ray, that building is smashing...er, wait...I mean exemplary....yeah, wonderful! :p Seriously, it is superb.

HB, wonderful backdrop. You'll use it to very good advantage, I'm sure. :)

Very nice backdrop, Hamiltonblue, but those waves in the foreground look like tsunamis compared to that poor little Geep in the foreground. Do you plan to cover up the over-sized forerground waves with building flats?

If not, may I suggest at least cutting the bottom half of the river off completely from the backdrop and then lowering it? The foreground waves just seem way too oversized, IMO.

Thanks all
I'm considering cutting some off the bottom but not sure right now. The water is a result of taking the pic from a pier. I tried a couple of sample pics and they turned out good so it might stay as is.

fixed the track for the coal mine, now that it is done.

3/4 of the warehouse I'm working on. The other part goes over the 2 pieces of track on the left. 2 box cars can go inside the building

this area is where the town will go. The bigger building shown is a general store and the smaller one is a hot dog stand

I'd have to agree. I'd cut about 6' or more off of that bottom to bring the city down to level with a little bit of water in the foreground. Right about to the bottom of where your red level is hanging. You would still have a bit of water and still have the feeling of distance.

Still it's going to be a nice background. I could use a couple of those but with Montana mountains instead.
