I just spoke the the pharmacy, and they say it is required to be submitted to the state registry. No response on how they managed to take that to mean they should report it to my doctor. So much for privacy. I guess I might as well just wave a giant flag over my house about it, because when I checked the registry, it had my full name, address, DOB, and what vaccine I had, and when the follow up was expected. I’m glad it wasn’t anything important, like, you know, my medical information, or anything.
File a HIPAA complaint they violated and it would have to be investigated in Wisconsin, YMMV.

Back from the day of excitement and a super great awesome shrimp gumbo at the Public Market in Milwaukee.

If the Van Gaugh Immerserve exhibit is within a 3 hour drive from you, I highly recommend it.

I did get called today a Fu..ing Coward in the Public Market because I was wearing a face mask. That’s a first. The guy behind, maybe 6’6” and 300#’s said ”pops don’t worry I got your back”. He stepped out from behind me and told the guy to apologize to me or run. The guy didn’t run but he did leave. I brought the guy his lunch.

I mentioned J J Hill, The Empire Builder, earlier today.

Here is the train, Empire Builder, after GN painted most of it with the Sky Blue paint scheme in Minneapolis.

COVID question: Is the booster just another vial of the same, or is it another brew?
Sherrel: 1. Happy Birthday! 2. According to Pfizer, and per my Doctor, it is essentially a third dose of the current vaccine. Other sources may have different answers to your question. Right now, I can use a good brew, or better still, a double single malt.

Our Dishwasher has been pronounced as not worth repairing...cost is equal to a new unit. (Water Pump shot). So tomorrow has become an appliance shopping day.

Willie: Any updates on the wife's leg? Also is this the first knee leg or the second? Just curious for obvious reasons.

Terry: State of NJ has a phone app, which is supposed to be used to establish proof of vaccination...so far, it only contains vaccinations provided at state meggasites. Shots administered by county or municipal auspices, and private immunizations are not as yet included. Supposedly this is leagl under public health laws. Only individual can access by DOB and Zip Code.
Any further update on DIL?

All material needed to move forward on the model railroad have arrived. Time to get some results...

Heritage GP40 on EB Raritan Valley Push pull for NYC departing Bound Brook. Motor takes over Newark to NYP. Just East of head end and signal bridge is connection with Conrail Lehigh Line.

Good morning. It's cloudy and 72.
DIL is unchanged. Her sisters spent the entire day with her Thursday. After unsuccessfully attempting to get any response at all from her for the entire day, they have admitted defeat, and are now in agreement about her condition.
Son is here, and has spent the night. He will be driving to her parent's today to talk to them about their daughter. I don't envy him doing this.
Their dog, a 6 year old Australian Shepherd named Gunner, has decided he is my buddy, and has followed me around like, well, a puppy, since they got here. He is a very large dog...

Joe - Thank you for asking.
It's the first knee, from two years ago. The orthopedic surgeon who has done many hundreds of replacements, has only seen this twice before in 30 years. The visit yesterday was a bit more positive, still going to have to redo it though, as the MRI shows a bit of bone deterioration. The lab could find no infection and they are trying to grow a culture to verify this. Going back to the OS today for another clean up and look/see. She'll be seeing the revision specialist next Tuesday, I mistakenly called him a recovery specialist yesterday. Surgery is tentatively scheduled for next Friday. Her OS asked for and got permission to observe the procedure. If the lab still finds no infectious cells, it will be a simple replacement at that time. If infection is actually present, then it's the lengthier process that I described yesterday. It is also not quite the immobilizing experience that we first thought, they put plastic spacers in there to maintain integrity of the muscles while the infection (if any) clears up and the new custom made titanium implant is made. She'll be able to move around with the walker without putting too much weight on the leg.
We're not sure if it matters or is connected in any way to the first knee being done in the hospital prior to Covid; or the second knee which was done in an outpatient clinic last year. Whatever is the ultimate issue, she seems to be getting the "red carpet treatment" on this, surgery just nine days after first seeing the doc on Wednesday! Maybe that's just SOP for this, I don't know.

Morning all,

Out yesterday due to another hit of Vertigo. Not sure why it hits when I first get up, but this one had me down all morning and was able to get around ok in the afternoon, as long as I didn't do any quick movements with my head. Much better today. Clear and 68° this morning

Willie: As long as it's not infected, revision surgery is easier than the first go round. In my case the nerves that get cut during the first surgery are already cut as they like to go through the existing scar tissue. Although I had to have staples as I was just a year out of the first surgery when I had the second and they were worried I'd tear out a stitch. Recover time was faster. I hope it's the easier one.

Troy: You hit the nail on the head. It's all about responsibility. If you want your right to do or not do something, you have the responsibility to make sure your right to do doesn't affect others rights. It's something I've been saying for years, but you don't hear ANY of the talking heads or politicos talking about it. Easier to demonize or blame someone else for your failure.

Good Morning All. Clear and 68°, today the wind gusts are at 1 mph from the SE. We're pretty much in a normal pattern for this time of year.
Getting back into the normal groove somewhat right now. While there's another doctor appointment for my wife this morning, she might drive herself as her cataract surgery Tuesday seems to have been a complete success. I'll drive if needed as that takes priority over the backlog of outdoor tasks that need to be done. Mowing being at the top of the list. I also have a cord of firewood by the driveway that was delivered early last week that is only partially moved and stacked. It needs to be stacked before the local snakes decide that it's time to find winter quarters under it. The normal orderly stacks of wood are not so appealing to them.
Grocery trek yesterday went well. Even with a sign at the door, mask compliance at Kroger was only about 45%. It was higher among store employees, but not 100%. I have mixed feelings about wearing one any more. Seeing that it wasn't crowded and social distancing was easy, I kept mine in my pocket. Last week I wore it.

A pair of over easy eggs and a handful of bacon this morning Francine. I see Flo is working the kitchen this morning, is Mel OK? Just out fishing! Good for him.

I made it out to the train shed yesterday after a day of absence.
I took a closer look at the fence that I painted Tuesday and sent it back to the paint shop.

I cut out a couple of cardstock printings of decrepit structures that I am going to glue to the backdrop for some forced perspective background.

Possible positioning.

These are under review for now. I may use a different one on the left and of course I will paint the backdrop under them to blend in with the layout scenery. These scale out to 75% of normal height. I'll start ground cover next and then install the fence.

Christian - I like your control panel! ;)
Terry - Sad to read that there has been no change in your DIL. May the good Lord guide your son into making the right decision. Continued prayers for your whole family including the deaf doggie.
Patrick - Thanks for the points regarding the revision surgery. That's comforting to know.

Today is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Let's all remember those unsung heroes.
Everybody have a great day. Stay safe

Good morning from chilled again Wisconsin. 61f/16c degrees heading into the high 70’s. The grass thinks it is Springtime as it is growing seemingly before my eyes, thats my job today, to shorten it.

The g/son and SIL put together the materials we had for the slot car track framework. We are at a standstill until the lumber yard calls to tell us the balance of the materials are in. The daughter started yesterday on the pit buildings. I wasn‘t able to get into the trainroom last night after our travel day last night. Sat down in my chair at 7:30 and left it at midnight.

Have a great day
TomO
