My wife made Hungarian Parol (stew) out of vegetables that had to be eaten and beef. She added pasta as well. It looked somewhat like what @troyphoto made and called chili. It was great as I suspect Troy's chili was too.
The primary difference between Hungarian Parol (stew) and Hungarian Goulash is, Parol is thicker with a few different spices. Goulash is a soup that has more of an emphasis on paprika.
She puts lots of stuff and time into making both. I would have to ask her for a list to know exactly. One thing I do know, they are both great!
I make things out of food that must be eaten as well. Both my wife's creations and mine taste good, hers are always better. The things she makes look good too. The things I make always end up looking like Russian prison food.
