My son sent me this:

What is ripple? Where is Fred Sanford? Did he finally join Elizabeth?
"Ripple wine: A former fortified wine
Ripple was a sweet, carbonated, fortified wine that was popular in the United States in the 1970s. It was produced by E & J Gallo Winery and was marketed to casual drinkers. Ripple had an alcohol content of 11% ABV, which was lower than modern table wines. Unopened bottles of Ripple are rare and can be worth between $150 and $200."

This says enough

Tom, have you experienced an issue with that particular app opening with a full page ad and nothing to do except click "upgrade to premium" to finish opening the app?

Good morning all!

Not quite as cold as the 12 degrees Tom is feeling. We are at a balmy 14 degrees.

My plan for today was to do the final mowing and get the mower put away, but no way. Its too cold for that nonsense. It can wait.

Had a kitchen sink drain issue yesterday morning. Something we put down there on Thanksgiving plugged it up and it wouldn't drain yesterday morning. I worked at it for a while cleaning traps and plunging, but couldn't clear it. We did get someone out here late yesterday afternoon to run a snake down it and get it cleared. Always something with home ownership! Had to do a bunch of cookie baking dishes in the bathroom. Kind of like when we did the kitchen remodel.

Baking will continue today for the wife.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and 35° to start our day. Should be another nice day once the clouds blow away in another hour or so.

Great day yesterday to be outdoors. I spent the morning cutting and stacking wood. I'm hitting that every other day for now. Afterwards, I finally removed the window A/C from the NW bedroom window. It's the only one that I take out for the winter. Later after lunch, I took out my drone and practiced with it. I sent it further than I had before, about 1.25 miles down the road to the mailboxes and back successfully. It's supposed to have a six-mile range, but I never expect to test that. Ironically, even though it has a six-mile range, the onboard battery cannot power it for the 12 mile round trip, only about 7.5 or 8. You could send it to a remote person who could put a new battery in.
Today will start with minimal mowing, a few hundred sq. ft. that I removed branches from in the last two weeks or so. Then it's food prep again. My wife misses preparing her own Thanksgiving dinner for just us and the two daughter's families, so we're doing that tonight at daughter #1's home. We're making most of it either here before we go there, and some being made there. Except, my wife is not doing the turkey. My daughter is going to do her first turkey ever! Something to look forward to. She will have my wife there for the last hour or so, just in case.

I did get out to the train shed yesterday, and did some maintenance on a structure that I had on my project list. It's a City Classics gas station kit. It took a few direct hits from the rainwater after the recent tornado. The station itself was not damaged, but the cardstock interior suffered.

Let's try something simple with the floor before I remove all of the details and make a new one. I misted the floor and put it under weights overnight. On the walls, I just glued pieces of cardstock to the backs of the warped paper walls, and weighted that down as well.
While making a new floor is easy, it would be time consuming. As part of the process, I would either have to find new flooring on the Internet, or design my own in the computer. Floor is a bit critical here, due to the large front corner windows.
By the way, all of the tools in the second picture as well as the lift visible in the first picture, are white-metal castings or pieces of wood, from the now shuttered American Model Builders. I don't know whether their new owner, Berkshire Valley Models, has plans to continue the castings.

John - You're not alone with unfinished projects. I have numerous patches of bare plywood in between some fully scenicked and detailed areas.
I've certainly heard of Cold Duck, but I don't actually recall consuming any. Of course that may be the very reason that I don't remember. ;)
Tom O - Good luck with your life changes coming up. I guess that I never realized the extent of Terry's tobacco issue.
Louis - They quit making Ripple wine in 1984 or so. Another one that I never knowingly drank. My "go-to" cheap wine was Boone's Farm.
Mike - Oh my! That was probably one expensive plumbing call!

Today is Small Business Saturday. Your LHS is probably among them. Try to support them all, all of the time instead of just today. Some birthday's today include musician Billy Idol, athlete Bo Jackson, producer/actor Woody Allen, and historical figures Mark Twain and Winston Churchill.
Everyone have a super Saturday.

Good Morning All!
30F @ 86% overcast. Weather guesser's snow amounted to notta, nor did the temp get below 30F. Still saying in the 20's through Wednesday. Ya, sure, ubetcha.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
Ours is today as Jordan and Chan had to work Friday and it didn't make sense for them to come from Missoula for a quick dinner then home. Doing pretty much standard stuff - deep fried Turkey, smashers, beans & broccoli. Think I will get a small spot in the kitchen, if so will bake some SD bread. I went to the Legion on Friday to get some pix for their website. Ryan and Elissa put on a feast ( donations ) and by the time I got there they were packing up and trying to get everybody to take something home. I ended up with 3 partial pies - Huckleberry, Pumpkin and Pecan so desert probably will not be an issue. Maria always makes 'heavenly hash' as the kids love it. Oh, and there will be a spread of grazing stuff out on the table so 'roll me around the house' when you want something done.

I did get out in the Train Cave for a bit almost everyday as I am forcing myself to at least do something.

Later

No, never. The page I posted is my opening page when I use that weather app. I do have the ad blockers from Apple setup on the IPadpro so maybe that’s why. I never purchase premium anything on websites especially the weathervapps

Thanks Willie. As Terry says we will make everything work. She smoked from high school in the 1960’s and quit 1/1/2015. The breathing issues showed up in 2022 and have while terrible thankfully very slowly gotten worse. The next step is oxygen in the tanks but she’s not there yet. The 1st indication of life changes was when she came home from Maui last year and started giving away the horses. When she said she wanted to sell everything on Maui a few months ago is when we started the real discussions. She’s a tough cookie and we’ll move forward

Okay, I guess these companies have me targeted for some reason. Over the last two days, I've deleted several apps from my iPad and iPhone that are doing this. I will not be strongarmed or blackmailed into paying for a free app. Accuweather has so far been the most blatant, on every device I own.
