Santa Fe livery (Warbonnets in Red (passenger) Blue (freight) was absolutely the best from "back in the day." I know there is more to that story and one day will research it . . . but by far the most impressive when the diesel era arrived.

Santa Fe brought back the red/silver Warbonnet scheme in the late '80's for all of their freight diesels.

Mike (Old97) - All 5 of my CF7's are powered. I primarily use them in pairs to make local switching runs and for shuffling cars in the staging yard. They are all Athearn RTR cars that I have had to add weight to for tractive effort.

I do recall seeing the "bring back" and felt than red/silver they should have gone with blue/yellow - after all it was freight.

Another day of really unseasonable warm, dry weather. Yesterday I managed to get the road bladed nice and smooth, just in time for tomorrow's predicted return of winter to mess it up again. The 1965 Case 731 fired right up after snoozing 4 months.

I also spent some time at the bench whittling out a brass repair piece for the bucket on the Reuhl Lorain shovel model. The resurrection of that model is what initially sent me down this rabbit hole again.

Who are you following this spring? The Dodgers 15-5 this spring. They look like a modern version of "murders row".

I'm routing for any team other than the Dodgers to win the National league. I don't want to see a team buy the pennant!

The Orioles have the best record of all the teams 18-5 this spring.

Your Padres and Cardinals are both 9-9. The Rockies are 14-7.

How about the Tigers 15-8, and the Nationals 14-9?

The Nationals, Cardinals and Rockies all finished in the cellar last season. We all love an underdog!

Afternoon All,

Woke up this morning around 0230 itching so after taking some meds and rubbing steroid creme on the itchy spots I finally got back to sleep around 0400 for a couple of hours. I guess that's why I feel like I'm dragging today. MOH dragged me to Costco and after getting home I ended up doing things around the house for everyone else. I did manage an hour in the train room finishing the main roof. It still needs weathered and the awnings need put on. Tomorrow Dad has a Cat Scan at the VA. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow?
