Good Morning All. Looks like partly cloudy and 54°, quite dark so it is hard to tell. NWS is predicting a high today of 80° with possible rain overnight. Then we cool off for a few days in the upper 60's. Nothing real special about today except it's my oldest daughter's 43rd birthday. Granddog still hasn't caught one of those rabbits yet, and also hasn't caught any of the vultures that live in my barn loft. But she's been after them for over two years now. Speaking of those vultures, they and their buddies seem to have finally finished off those two hogs on the side of the road that have been there for the past six weeks, although at times they were eating pigsicles instead of pork chops during the deep freeze. Nothing left but hide and larger bones now. It's something to surprise the county road crew when they mow sometime in July. At best, they mow along the road three times a year, last year it was only twice. The remains will be disguised by high grass and they won't know until the mower blades get hung up and they have to clean the debris out by hand.
I'm off to town this morning to buy brakes for the car. It's one of the few maintenance items that I still do myself.
Eggs over easy and a double order of bacon with a toasted English Muffin for me this morning, Flo.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I completed all of the ballasting except for a single switch. Barely had enough of the shade of ballast that I use on industrial trackage to complete the job. Still going to purchase some more Friday when I visit the LHS.
The other 14 switches all work, none were permanently glued. Remember that the blanks in the first picture are for a grade crossing to be made later. Today I'll start to tidy up the loose and out of place pieces of ballast. None of them interfere with train wheels, they just look out of place. Then the structures can go back into place.
I did a bit more work on the tree house. Everything got a shot of gray primer and I have begun to paint the wood coloring.
The fun part of mounting it in the tree is about to commence.
Justin - If that's the norm in your area, leave it alone. As I said, I am not familiar with that area.
Sherrel - Happy Anniversary to you and Kate today. It's also great to read that the knee replacement is going well. I forgot if she told Arlene that she was going to get the other one done as well.
GT -
I think there's to much debt built up now for those "checks" to make that much difference. I am afraid that most of economic aid for businesses is just postponing the inevitable . I suspect there could be lot of bankruptcies over the next few months /years when the aid money starts drying up.
Couldn't agree more, but the checks are just a small part of the package. Our legislature has eliminated all caution regarding the debt in the last 12 years or so. Bankruptcy is being postponed for many businesses that should have gone down even before the pandemic. Over-saturating has hurt a lot of them. For example, I remember when Denton TX had 6 Radio Shacks when the permanent population was just 75,000. People who needed to shop there didn't really need one every four miles!
Joe - I would comment on your post yesterday, but it would definitely be political; the immunizations part!
Jaz - The "bin bags" look very realistic. I'll have to try that.
Patrick - I don't crawl under the house any more either, although I partially went under yesterday to retrieve a piece of leftover copper pipe for the recycler. I was able to run the refrigerator water line along the baseboard inside; once painted, it's totally invisible.
It's light out now and now completely cloudy, almost foggy. Everyone have a great day. Stay safe.
