Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and a cool 79°, headed up to maybe 103° today. That's been the forecast for the past three days, but we've come up short of it, although we did reach triple digits each day.
No real change on the grocery store trek yesterday. Prices seemed to have remained stable from the previous week. However they were completely out of Jalapeno Peppers which is unforgivable in Texas. I had to go to Target for them where to my surprise, at the self-checkout, the machine asked if I had my own bags. I replied yes since I was just going to carry the peppers out in the flimsy produce bag, and I was given an automatic 5¢ price reduction! Meanwhile I got some bonus gas points at Kroger and I can now get a 60¢/gal reduction
twice. By the time my August points are due, it will be much more, but there is a $1/gal maximum per transaction. My July points which expire August 31, cannot be combined with the August points.
I mentioned earlier in the week about my tomato plants now overhanging their cages and drooping down to the ground.
And the black and yellow spiders are getting bigger.
It's a jungle out there!
Thanks for the likes and comments regarding the Downtown Deco structures yesterday;

Yesterday, out in the train shed, I finished ballasting the spur up to the turnout.
I also started to add some ground cover, not much but a start.
Meanwhile over on the workbench I contemplated a second backdrop structure, this one made with Walther's modular walls.
I have over 35 of these kits that were free of charge from my LHS owner when he retired and closed up shop in 2015. However Walther's really screwed up with these kits. I will elaborate tomorrow; if you have used any, you probably already know what I mean.
Terry -
Think of how large a model railroad empire you could have, or relive your time as a high school basketball star:
Somebody on this forum does have a gymnasium to use as a train room, although they have not built it yet. I cannot remember who it is though. Seems like they are located in Colorado.
Tom O - Glad to read that the electrical problems have been worked out. It all sounds like a story that
Troy might write!
Today is International Beer Day. Need I say more?
Everybody have a great day and an awesome weekend.
