Smudge617, yes Chris they covered up those previous 2. Did they charge the 2 customers? That is unknown. Many American companies including the one I worked the last 28 years for made me sign a Non Disclosure Agreement, known as a NDA. That prevents you from talking about activities you may have witnessed or been part of. It depends how it was written.
It might be an idea, if you can, to find out who these other customers were, and if they were charged, perhaps your lawyer could contact them to find out, is so, then that could be a case of fraud.

Always did like that Locomotive -- too bad it was not as successville as hoped for!
A real monster it was.
Sherrel: Mrs. Rupnicki, who ran a grocery store a block from my house growing up, had a photo of the Seaboard Centipede hanging on the wall in her store. I was impressed with the photo and wanted it. Her late husband worked at Baldwin, (with my grandfather), and was awarded the photo for some incentive program.

Unfortunately, the PRR version failed miserably, because on numerous development problems, but later found a niche in helper service. There is a major article about the Centipede, in the Spring 2022 "High Line" magazine, published by the Philadelphia Chapter of the PRRT&HS.

Curt: The centipede had problems with overheating traction motors, because the tight PRR curves were so sharp the articulation moved the motors out from under the blowers designed to cool the traction motors. So you can safely say the Centipede was even too large for the Pennsy's curved track.

Doctor moved me off of Lisinopril because it made me cough. Switched me to Amlodipine.
Horseman: Interesting. My Pulmonologist took me off of Fosinopril (Also an ACE Inhibitor) because of coughing. Cardiologist had previously taken me off of Amlodipine, for some other issue. Now I take Furosemide and Rosuvastatin. My BP usually ranges OK at home, but at the doctor(s) office, it's high or low depending on who takes it.

Good evening. 82° at the reservoir right now. We may get some rain overnight. The Nationals game in Philadelphia has been under rain delay since 8:45 PM, and radar shows a large mass of rain moving SW to NE which may reach the coast. It's very dry, and we could use some rain. Mets beat Atlanta 6-4. How 'bout the Angels...7 Solo Home Runs, and still lost to the A's, 8-7...tied a Major League Record.

Tom O': Hope Terry's tests are favorable. That's quite an experience y'all had with your electric power.

Finished painting the engine terminal area. time to put the track down. and wire it. Need somewhere to display my power. Also need aprogram track. With the legs acting up again, I'm forcing my slf to spend at least an hour / day. Need to stay active.

Yu'all have me all confused up, with this business of computerized houses, electrics, lawyers, and smart little 16yr olds.
I'm glad I still live in a box built of sticks over top a concrete basement. It's so simple this way.

I soldered up some 1/16" brass tube to make a ram bar between the Shell yard office and the pick-ups front end in it's parking place. Just another detail I thought I'd like to add to the dealership scene.

Have a peaceful night.

Thanks for the concerns about Terry. We have been home a couple hours and it was a trying long day. As I mentioned in just over 50 years this is my first time waiting testing for her for follow ups. She is exhausted but relieved it is done. That feeling I know. We expect a positive outcome confirmed by all the blood work they did. Three trips that she could recall into various MRI type machines

The electrical conundrum is officially in the hands of the Attorney as Terry agrees the kid needs more then a slap. But, it will not involve the police.

Sherrel, this was no genius computer wiz and he has been caught by staff at least twice per Jason the “specialist.” He is working as an intern there and has for a few summers.

What he did was wrong, definitely a cyper crime but not worth us pursuing as a criminal case. Plus, it’s not really our choice, the County DA decides. But in Small Claims Court in Wisconsin or Civil Court in other states, I may get a feeling of satisfaction. I want more then a DA to tell me it is not worth their time and effort. Do we want money? Heck no and there is a limit to what we could file for anyways and the company is doing great. I just want a public record. The attorney says we go after the company and cite that a employee, a minor, admitted the “act”. By doing that it becomes public record but protects the minors name. So that’s that! Maybe a year from now we will have a result but the record of the filing is a public record and that will be next week.

Trains! I have 7 cars at the bench being weathered. All 7 are faded, all the wheelsets are rusted as are the trucks. Some have the roofs weathered and a couple have everything but a final dullcote. But, it will be darker in about 1.25 hours and I will then leave the deck for the trainroom. I am relaxing overseeing Terry looking over her planting beds in the garden. She was told relax, that is her way
An NDA can not skirt the law. If you witness something your company did or does that is illegal it is you duty to report. Witness, not hearsay or s/he said. That being said most of the time people don't say squat as they wish to keep employed. If it comes down to it and the illegal activity comes to light and they find that you knew about it, you can be compliscent and held responsible also. Not a good place to be, in fact do you really want to work for a dishonest company?

Good morning all! 69 headed for 81 with high humidity and pretty good chance for more rain later.

Was super tired last night and went to bed pretty early. Woke up this morning and found 2 grandchildren sleeping in my living room. They must have been pretty good last night because I didn't hear anything at all and had no idea they were here. My wife had been outside with them at the time I went to bed and I never heard them come in after I called it a night.

Been a good week at work but I'm still glad it's Friday. I've just been really tired all week and need the weekend to hopefully get some rest.

TomO: Glad your situation with the EC got figured out. It sure sounded suspicious from the get go. They definitely sound like a company I would ever want to do business with if this is how they handle things. I'm glad Jason is an honest person and didn't try to cover for the company. I hope he is very successful with starting his own business. He deserves a big settlement from his now former company for the way they treated him.

Hope you all have a great day!

Morning all,

2nd time on this morning, but didn't get a chance to post earlier. 79° and clear this morning, high of 101° later.

Hopefully remains quiet, but probably not. I have a couple of errands to run after work, and then I take the grandkids to the city's museum. They start back to school later this next week.

Peaches are starting to turn a bit lighter in color, so we'll have some within the next couple of weeks. Even with the freeze this spring, the south sides of the trees are where the peaches are, the side closest to the house. I need to really trim them back this next winter, if I can find\make the time. Some of the branches are 20 feet up and a bit hard to reach. I topped one tree a few years ago, but failed to follow up the trimming, so now I have a new top which beside picking the fruit also makes it hard to spray. 2 of the apple trees dropped all their fruit earlier, I think due to the heat. I think I'm going to take them out as well. No patience for not having fruit after 7 years. I understand if the bud freeze. but to just drop the fruit...

My pecan tree is doing ok in the front flower bed. If it comes back next spring, I'll transplant it, but not yet sure where. Some "squirrel" dropped a pecan under the mulch last fall and must have "forgotten" where he put it, so it came up. His loss is my gain. 🤣

BBL if there's time.

Good morning all,

65° and sunny, headed for 90. Supposed to be humid too. Looking forward to the weekend, notice that the weeks seem to fly by now, which is not a bad thing as I am looking forward to retiring at some point.

Wife got up with me this morning, always screws me up to have someone else walking around the house when I am getting ready, my routine gets a little disrupted. Funny how I like my routine, do not like when it is messed with.

Here is todays photo, I have been saving it all week , it is my little Life Like tank loco. Fixed up a little and painted with my SLCR company letters:

This thing actually works, but I have to kind of speed around with it cause of the ultra short wheel base.

more later, Dave LASM

Good Morning, friends!

Nice and cool at 49F, and very wet outside. I believe the rain is over with for awhile, though. We had just enough rain to turn everything green again.

I'm not going to spend a-lot of time in the shop. The wife has gone to work, so I get a free day to use up on modelling. I don't want to waste it.
Should be able to prime-paint the motel and start working on the wiring on all the track I've got down so far. Maybe I can get to a point where I can start running trains.

I'll put down one photo. These are all the new vehicles that I got in the mail yesterday:
NewAuto_08-04-2022.JPG

I ordered all those directly from Oxford. Found that even with shipping, ordering direct was the most cost effective way to get a number of quality vehicles.
Now, there are about 30 vehicles in my collection; should be enough for my small 10 x 12 layout. Except for the larger work truck type. I'll need more of those, and will probably turn to Sylvan models and build my own. - But, I'll still keep buying from Oxford, as I like some of their future offerings that are in the works.

Well, I'm going to get the morning walk outta the way, and get to it. Coffee cups empty anyway.

Have a great day folks!

Those are great looking vehicles! I especially like the yellow step-side pickup truck. My wife has a 1967 Chevy C-10 which looks a lot like that one, other than the color.

I forget what scale you model, would you mind reminding me, please?

Good morning from a cool Wisconsin. 61f/16c degrees at 5:45AM when I went for a 2 mile walk. The walk in the woods felt good and helped clear the mind somewhat, after a not so great night of sleep.

Terry is doing fine and always has a positive attitude about my health issues and now for hers. As usual she is out with her horses normally till about 9AM, that and her office are some of her happy places. She does have another lab at 8:50 so I expect her any minute to clean up.

I did last night around 9 spend sometime in the train room and worked on 1 of the 7 cars being weathered.

The plan earlier in the week for today was a 1hour trip down to Mineral Point, Wi. an old mining town with another Walthers like historic downtown. The old train depot is now a museum but the last few times we have been down there it’s been closed. We go to a great breakfast place the Red Rooster Cafe that serves some of the best Cornish pasties we have ever had. today we will just bring them home. Then a trip down the road to Darlington which has another downtown similar to the Merchant Row kits. There was a great bakery but the website now says “permanently closed.” Found the city during one of the Covid need to get out of the house drives. Finally on the way home we will stop at The Train Barn in Arygle, Wi. Lots of animations on a 3 rail layout and I was reminded of this place last week. After I posted the Galena trip a few asked me why I didn’t stop there on the way home. Today, if Terry feels up to it we will take the trip.

Today in So. Central Wi we should reach low 80’s getting us ready for the weekend’s 90’s with the heat index getting to 110. That’s indoor weather and pool time, so we will try to get out today.

enjoy the day

Good Morning All. Partly cloudy and a cool 79°, headed up to maybe 103° today. That's been the forecast for the past three days, but we've come up short of it, although we did reach triple digits each day.

No real change on the grocery store trek yesterday. Prices seemed to have remained stable from the previous week. However they were completely out of Jalapeno Peppers which is unforgivable in Texas. I had to go to Target for them where to my surprise, at the self-checkout, the machine asked if I had my own bags. I replied yes since I was just going to carry the peppers out in the flimsy produce bag, and I was given an automatic 5¢ price reduction! Meanwhile I got some bonus gas points at Kroger and I can now get a 60¢/gal reduction twice. By the time my August points are due, it will be much more, but there is a $1/gal maximum per transaction. My July points which expire August 31, cannot be combined with the August points.

I mentioned earlier in the week about my tomato plants now overhanging their cages and drooping down to the ground.

And the black and yellow spiders are getting bigger.

It's a jungle out there!

Thanks for the likes and comments regarding the Downtown Deco structures yesterday; Karl, Troy, Dave B, Tom O, Patrick, Guy, Smudge, Hughie, Joe, Chad, Louis, Sherrel, Curt, Rick, Gary, Tom, OB Ken.

Yesterday, out in the train shed, I finished ballasting the spur up to the turnout.
IMG_1425.JPG

I also started to add some ground cover, not much but a start.
IMG_1424.JPG

Meanwhile over on the workbench I contemplated a second backdrop structure, this one made with Walther's modular walls.
IMG_1426.JPG

I have over 35 of these kits that were free of charge from my LHS owner when he retired and closed up shop in 2015. However Walther's really screwed up with these kits. I will elaborate tomorrow; if you have used any, you probably already know what I mean.

Terry -
Think of how large a model railroad empire you could have, or relive your time as a high school basketball star:
Somebody on this forum does have a gymnasium to use as a train room, although they have not built it yet. I cannot remember who it is though. Seems like they are located in Colorado.
Tom O - Glad to read that the electrical problems have been worked out. It all sounds like a story that Troy might write!

Today is International Beer Day. Need I say more?
Everybody have a great day and an awesome weekend.
