Layout Videos

Very cool video, Chessie. You've got some great motive power and rolling stock. A Merrry Christmas to you and your crew also.

Hey, great thread! Here are a few videos from our club here in Freeport Illinois, the Fever River Railroad. I use music, simply because there is a lot of background noise usually:

Rich, very nice bridge and those GP-40's look great!

Tom, umm...whoa...WOW! Except for the fact your loco needs a brighter headight in the tunnels, that is one fantastic video. How did you do that? Was the camera mounted on a flatcar or what? Forget the rest of the great layout, the overhead would have taken me the rest of my natural life to build. Outstanding work.

Chessie, that looks like a typical PC local in the last days. Nice detail on the inside of the open dorr 50' boxcar.

my sisters kitten thoroughly enjoyed the video. He kept trying to get the train as it left your view. And then at the end just went nuts on the screen when there was no more train. Now he's going nuts trying to get the mouse cursor on the screen.

sort of..

How did you do that? Was the camera mounted on a flatcar or what?

It is a very cheap, small camera. I popped the body off an Atlas ore car and taped the camera to the frame, tilted down slightly. I then pushed it around the layout with one of the Traction Motors. It gives a different perspective to the layout! I am trying to come up with a single truck camera mount to try and keep more of the curves in view.

I took a few more stills I should post later as well.

Thanks for the nice compliment!

Tom
