Well, this is the last area on the mainline/ lower level to be done. Originally I had the Walthers Water Street Freight station here but it was too big. It’s now an orphan structure. So after considering my options, I’ve decided to go with the Walthers gravel company which will be renamed “Rocky Gravel” I’ve already started some of the hills/ embankments around the facility. More to come.
Progress… but those instructions though. They are horrible! Was planning on painting it as I go but I decided to just get it together first.
Most of the painting is complete.

Walther's is well known for their horrible instructions, or lack thereof!
If you kitbash buildings, you don't need instructions

Well, pulled up the tracks, removed the roadbed, put the tracks back down at 2 inch centers and ballasted up to the building. Now I have to figure out how I’m going to configure the conveyors and where to place the rest of the foam I have planned for this area. I also ordered more conveyors because the three that came with this kit isn’t enough. What I thought was a nice big area for this gravel plant just got really small and cramped. I’ll figure something out.
Should be finishing up this weekend. A little more done.
Going to let the ballast dry for the rest of today. I want to add some rust streaks on the roof and some small touch ups, but for the most part, it’s done! Soon I’ll move to the upper level.
More lights! Also added a fence separating the gravel company from the main. Yes, chain linked would have looked better but I wanted to do something different. Enjoy!
"Let there be light". There is something special about a night model RR scene. Looks very nice.
