Hello All
This morning while running a couple of trains I noticed that a few of the cars have couplers whose coupler hoses touch turnout cross rails. It doesn't seem to be hurting anything but it is bugging me. Is there a way to adjust the hoses higher by bending them or should they be clipped back? I'm tempted on bending them but don't want to cause any damage.
Thanks

The coupl,er hose can be bent with a pair of needle nose pliers. position one jaw on rop of the coupler, the other beneath the end of the hose and give a gentle squeeze. You should see the difference immediately. If you don't want to do that you can just clip it off. I take my problem ones off with my Dremel tool.

I wouldn't clip them off...just bend them up slightly. They make a bender tool for this, but as Jeff said, just use some longnose.

Thanks.
The only reason I questioned clipping them is that it looks like they have something to do with re-coupling.
Yes they do have a purpose. A magnetic uncoupler plate pulls them to either side and uncouples the couplers. I have 3 of these on my layout but seldom use them. The old 0-5-0 is much faster and works anywhere that's within reach.
