If you want a shiny flat -ish surface do a thin varnish and ensure it cannot spread and fall on the floor but allow it to slowly dry out, plastercin can be a barrier

fyi sometimes hot weather can impact and effect the finish, I clean my ‘water’ with a damp cloth the real water for a short time enhances the mirror effect and removes dust that sits on top. And reflections are easily better captured at low angles

This model is 1:43, a ‘toy’ on a shelf I saw the abandoned VWs thought for a split second of damaging the model, shudders, then repainted to red, matched the damage, added some ‘real’ sun shades, added some ’leaves’ birch seeds, dirtied the tires, and voila…..
I could warm up a knife and flatten a wheel, but chose not to
but this is the result if you do, don’t use a good kitchen knife…..the wife might be somewhat annoyed.
