Bad experience with No-Ox on Peco switch points

As you've said it is an older layout, the turnouts most likely will be the older peco's too. They did both insulfrog and powered frog turnouts once, Now it's all powered frog type and you have to modify them if you want the "un". I believe the difference between Atlas and Peco was that Atlas had...

Bad experience with No-Ox on Peco switch points

You appear to be using. if the layout is older. Peco's insulfrog turnouts and therefore will be relying on the contact between the point rail's tips and the stock rail to provide power through those point rails up to the frog which in an insulfrog is dead. If there is corrosion of some coating...

    18" radius curves or...less

The largest radius in any situation is always the best. About the only place in full size track that would be replicated in HO minimums would be streetcar (Trams).

    18" radius curves or...less

May not have been the radius, A GP40 should handle that. 2nd hand track though, might be a different story. An NMRA gage, run over them might show up discrepancies.

Running Bear's August 2021 Coffee Shop

Has been an exceptionally clear and fine day day here in S.E. Queensland today. I had reason to go to the P.O. postbox to mail a letter (they are either at Shopping centers or just on certain streets here, no home pickups) just before the Sun went down. Way up high was a Contrail just starting...

Peco Curved Turnouts Out of Guage

Don't be tempted to file them. As it appears, being new, any returns under warranty would be voided.

It's an Australian Huntsman Spider. Range from quite small and all the way up to this one. It had a name for it but forget what it was. They don't build webs and are harmless except to the heart if one drops on you from the ceiling etc. New Zealand has them too and they are the only species to...

I saw a notice about that some days ago. I thought W10 was supposed to be "it" and only updates would apply. Obviously not.
