I thought I would share this one with you.
For those who have not been here - this is the town of Silverton, Co - the north terminus of the Durango and Silverton RR (former D&RGW).
The town is 9,305 feet msl and those mountains top out mostly above 13,000 feet msl.
This was the view and approach that I had from my plane when I lived there and commuted to Albuquerque. The landing strip was along the river just to the right of that clearing in the upper right. Standard Metals Mining ruined the "strip" by burying it under a tailings dump after I left. My home, kind of long and with a bright green roof was to the left of the Silverton Northern tracks a couple of streets.
