And the final pic until I build the signals and paint the structure.
Placed the signal bridge on the layout just to see the color. ( Didn’t feel like crawling under the layout to get to its permanent spot ) Looks decent but a little too lite. Going to hit it with some Southern Pacific gray with the air brush. Then finish up with a little weathering.
Beauty layout ! The new bridge looks awesome !

Thanks!
Decided to run a fence line along the main. You’re going to have to zoom in to see it.
That layout looks awesome !
Thanks guys. I should have the Penn Central /Conrail “budget” signal bridge lit and operational later today. I’m really pleased on how it turned out.

I was suppose to borrow my friends camera to do more videos but he forgot to bring it to work the other day. I’m on vacation now so it’s going to be sometime in January when I’ll be able to borrow again. Might do a video with my phone until then.
Completed! Very pleased! My only concern is that the 1/2 watt 470 ohm resistors that I used get hot. I’m guessing all my other one do too, I just never noticed.

Are the resistors hot or just slightly warm, I've fitted 100+ resistors, none of mine get hot or even warm, I'm using a 16vAC wall wart with a buck to 12vDC.
They get hot. The power supply I’m using for my lights and signals is a 2 amp ac power supply that I converted to dc. It puts out 16 volt dc

As far as I know, resistor's shouldn't get hot, you may want to dial it down a touch, 2amp is also a lot of power just for a set of lights, unless your powering all your lights from the same power supply, bulbs/LEDs will be just as bright at 12v, and unless the lights your using are rated at 16v, their unlikely to last very long.
Yes, I have a specific power supply just for lights, signals and a few electric switch machines.
Wow, nice layout and great job on the signal tower. I have a friend in our club that's a Conrail fan. He's currently building a slug like the one they use to have here in the Buffalo, NY yard.
I’ve always wanted to build a Conrail slug, like an MT-4 or MT-6. That would give me a reason to buy an Conrail SD38. The former Allentown,Pa hump used that pair. All gone now.

I would still try dialing it down to 12v, if you can, (you could try installing a buck if you can't) last thing you need is burnt out wiring, someone else might have a suggestion as to why your resistors are getting hot, but that's the only reason I can think of.
