Good Morning All. Starting our day with mostly cloudy skies and 82°, should reach at least 102° later on with humidity levels around 25%. Dry heat they call it. No change in that same forecast for the next ten days.
Nothing special about yesterday, started with household tasks, dishwasher, laundry, etc. I did not do the planned canning of tomato sauce. Stacked about two weeks of firewood that I had previously cut and hauled. I sure do miss all of that free hardwood that I hauled from work for over 40 years, including five years after I retired. But in the meantime it allowed all of the trees that I planted 40 years ago to grow unfettered and spread their offspring about. Ironically the ones doing the best, I never planted! Hackberry trees are native to the area and birds eat their berries but cannot digest the seeds so they spread them around with a glob of fertilizer, mostly under or near power lines or other trees. OK though, as that wood has more BTU's per cord than most oak.
Plans for today include a cardiologist appointment at 11:30 for a two month follow up. Sure screws up the day to have an appointment at that time, but my wife made it when she changed it from the original one from yesterday. I think that she does that just to agitate me. Prior to that, I will pick produce from the garden and haul firewood that's already cut from the tree to the woodpile. After coming home and having lunch and a nap, I will preserve some more tomatoes before heading for the train shed or the pool. Supper tonight will most likely be at our favorite Italian restaurant in Sanger TX.
I have only had Chick Fil A food a couple of times, mainly when traveling. What I had wasn't bad, the waffle-fries were good as well. What I didn't like is the time that I went before 10:00 am and they wouldn't serve a sandwich, only breakfast menu items.

I spent some time in the train shed yesterday. I assembled the DPM wall sections for the background structure.
I'll be painting this, which I intended to do anyway since it resides next to another DPM structure, but note the lack of quality control on the upper second panel from the right. The color difference is a bit more significant than the picture shows.
Here it is in place with the foreground structures.
I also made a decision to complete the backdrop to the right, whenever!
I don't anticipate getting a lot of time out there today, but ballasting the spur is next on my agenda. And then ground cover while I paint and add the windows to the background structure, over on the workbench.
Jeff - Besides onions, what else is in your onion pie? I have seen various recipes.
Sherrel - We still have low level prisoners from state prisons doing highway cleanup here. Not in the summertime though. In the summer, they just shred everything with the mowers.
Chet - I always enjoy seeing your pictures of the Livingston club layout.
Yes, I still heat the whole house with wood and have to keep a steady supply going. Added exercise along with the garden and daily walks. I do have to admit that we have added two radiant heaters in the house, so we don't have to start a fire that we only need for 2-3 hours at a time.
Guy - Even though you may not see this, good luck with the fishing expedition.
Patrick - Texas moved primary day up early to March 1 this year. Happy to say that all of my candidates won. Hope that they all win in November. Probably will, as I was 23 out of 24 in 2000; although #24 did win our state just not the national.
Gary - Another great travelogue from you.
Dave B - I will trade some wood if you come and split some of those larger logs in the background!
OB Ken - Stay safe in the storm.
Have a great day everyone.
