Good morning all!

Partly cloudy and 49F this morning. Mostly sunny skies today with a high of 77F. This is our warmest day of the week, Rain will move in late
tonight and drop temps into the 60s for the rest of the week.

A couple loads of laundry this morning and dishwasher empty from last nights cycle. Not sure what else will crop up.

Have a volleyball game tonight that is away so dinner on the road after the game.

Have a safe day everyone!

drop temps into the 60s
Ya gotta luv the downward trend in temps. I would enjoy it more if it would just stop raining! I could then turn the AC off and clean it out. I have mine set for 27C/80F at night just to reduce the humidity. When I wake up, the room is about 70% since the AC barely kicks on due to the temp, but it probably would be worse.

Well done sir, they are essential to any good classic rock collection.

Here is one you probably won't hear on classic rock radio, at least i haven't.
It's from the Album/CD Juggernaut I think it would be good to add to your collection. And one more from that same Album.

This was one of my favorites with headphones on. I saw him at Day on the Green, in 1979, at the Oakland Colesium.

Good morning! 53 50°F here, expecting 83°F, but I don't see it happening here, maybe in the city.

Woke up with a clear head, no dizziness, no fever and feel really good. I don't know what I had there for a couple of days, but that was a real drag.

CAT with Isovue dye tomorrow just about 24 hours from now to check for any bladder leak. I'm pretty confident that it has sealed itself and they can remove this extra plumbing, but the CAT will tell.

Have a great day today.

Servus!

Good morning Crew as I wake to my 74th year. September is quite the month for both sides of the family. Our birthdays, our anniversary. dad’s birthday, Terry’s dad’s b-day, my sister’s anniversary, 2 of her brothers anniversaries and finally we moved into our 1st house together in 1976.

It’s 47f degrees under clear, calm and beautiful skies. Heading to 75 later but overcast before the T-storms begin.

Dinner out last night ended a tradition. The Italian restaurant we normally celebrate the day between our birthdays is now closed Mondays. We went Mexican and nope I’m not thinking Italian out tonight.

The NHL is back tonight. With a strange preseason under the new CBA this year it was only 4 possible games and 18 days from the 1st practice and a slew of other rule changes. Should make for some high scoring 1st few weeks. My Black Hawks play Vegas this evening

Enjoy your day

Good Morning All!
45F @ 69% cloudy - but warmer than the last 4 days.

Lights and outlets now working in the Chick/Goat house. Inside wall(s) should be easy - ya, easy to say, we will see. Even though Ima slow, have a happy wife. Well for now.

No dogs allowed in the bar; they can not hold their liquor.

Good evening folks, it hit only 85 here today and sunny. Overslept, then got us lunch and then went to a new Doctor. our insurance changed on my 65the birthday this month, so I had to get a new Physician. She is very nice and cheerful, very thorough, going over all my medications. and took me off of two of them that cause cross-contamination [?] to see if that will help the way I feel. Got home and discovered I had a much anticipated box waiting for me with the new rulebook for Battletech waiting for me. It's the first one in 19 years, so I have to go through the few changes they have made. I've been playing the game since it came out 40+ years ago, so a diehard.
Baseball? Well I wish my Cards would have broken .500 but they have a bunch of rebuilding yet to do. Think I'm gonna have to cheer for the Brewers in the NL though as I am a Southsider, so a White Sox fan.
You guys have a good evening.

67th and Hamlin was home till 6th grade when we moved to Oak Forest. Class of ‘70 at Tinley Park High School. I root for the White Sox, never root against the Cubs and follow the Brewers. I believe the Brewers get to the World Serious event. Sox win 1 series cubs lose to Brewers.

Enjoy the new rule book

Good morning: Happy Tuesday! No rain today!

My stuff was repacked after drying, and placed in climate controlled storage, where it will sit for about 6 months.
Climate controlled storage 09_28_2026.jpg

Right now, we are disposing of stuff...trash to trash...wearables to the Salvation Army. Still waiting on an actual closing date.

Temp lodging for a few months then close on the new place. (We hope)!

da Bears beat up on da Eggles! NHL Hockey opens 1700 tonight in Carolina.

Good Morning All. Clear and 74° here. The nearby rain yesterday was a bust for me, although there were some short bursts of thundershowers nearby; mostly in Oklahoma and some counties east of me. The big event is still forecast for tomorrow and Thursday, in fact a Flood Watch has already been issued for our area, with a prediction of 2" to 5" possible, starting around dusk tomorrow. It would take at least 4" of rain in a short period in this close-by area to produce any flooding though. I'd be happy with a 2.5" down-burst, followed by another inch of light showers.
Of course, I had to add water to the pool yesterday to keep the filter running. It's still in the 74°-75° range and quite refreshing. But I will have to close it up this weekend or early next week prior to us leaving for vacation next Wednesday.

Had a man come by yesterday and pick up a trailer load of scrap steel. It was all from the tornado of '24, that I have been gathering up in piles waiting for this opportunity. All too long for me to carry to the recyclers. This fellow just took everything at no cost as opposed to others who would come for a fee. My guess is that the trailer-load netted him around $80-$90. Downside? I now have to mow those storage spots immediately and in the future! No reported snakes, but I am sure some were encountered.
I also finished off the first complete firewood stack, one cord ready to go. I have about a half cord ready in the second stack, and at least that much still ready to pick up out in the woodlot. Two cords has historically been enough for the normal winter usage with about 1/8-1/4 cord left over. But today will be some yard clean-up, and gathering up tools prior to the expected monsoon.
Wife came home yesterday and had no complaints about the tidiness of the house. I grilled Pork Chops and we split a Sweet Potato for supper. A dish of Strawberries completed the meal.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I was still in the piddling around mode. I made a hedgerow between the Garage and Pizzaland, painted some more colors on some figures and cleaned up a few vehicles. Not sure if I mentioned it or not, but on my recent visit to the dentist, he gave me some expired dental picks to use in the train shed. I am using one right now to paint belts and ties on some figures as appropriate. Not too sure that I want to do eyes, as that would open up a huge can of worms! But I am interested in doing a few beards.

Tom O - I just tip on the whole check amount, tax and all. It's easier than deducting and if I add 20% (upped to the next whole dollar), the server actually gets 22%-23%. More if the service is extra-exceptional.
Happy Birthday today.
Michael - Glad to read that you're feeling better.
David (Marlin) - No real issues with the human verification check box, it's just the first time that I got it.
Kusojiji - Some here on the forum will disagree vehemently with me, but it is much better to displace any snake than to destroy it.
Louis - I am a great fan of Frank Marino and his sometime band Mahogany Rush.
Todd -
Think Willie did 75 yesterday or day before.
Not yet, another 90 days or so.

The late Jerry Lee Lewis was born on this day in 1935. Mark Farner, singer/guitarist/composer for Grand Funk is 78 today. Guitarist Mike Pinera of Blues Image and Iron Butterfly is also 78 today. And local late guitarist for Bloodrock was born near Lubbock in 1946. Bloodrock opened many, many shows in the DFW area in the late 60-s and early 70's.

Everyone have a great Tuesday.

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those showing their birthday suits to their significant others

It's Troy again.

Happy trip round the star day to Tom and anyone celebrating.

Like Willie, I too look at the total, divide by 10, rounding up, and multiply by two. A $40 check = $8 in tip. It's easier. If we got not good service, then I remove the tax and don't round.

In other news: I took a nap this morning. About 8:30 local I was yawning. Leaned the recliner back, but I have to turn on my side to actually sleep. So by 9am I was on the couch.

Woke up at 10am

Decided that for the first time in 2 months I would take a walk outside around the condo complex. I't mowing day, and I headed right into a swarm of the riding mowers. Never know where they'll be on mowing day.

I made one - well, two - mistakes. I turned left instead of right when I left our unit. The aforementioned swarm was heading my way. Four different commercial mowers had to stop while I walked past them, Dutifully swinging my walking pole (it looks cooler than a cane). Made it to the first bench and felt ok. Kept walking right past it.

Made it to the second bench about 200 yards after that, felt good. so kept walking.

About 300 yards later on the winding path, I sat on third bench for a couple of minutes. Decided I felt good enough to keep going. But this time, it was about 400 yards downhill to the next bench by the big pond. I made that - and really needed to sit.

Mistake number two, I kept going instead of taking a shorter loop and heading up-hill.

The next bench hadn't got any sun, an the seat was still covered with dew. OK, about five hundred yards farther, there's another bench...

Didn't make it before the swarm of angry grass-munchers was upon me again. So I took a left, had to pause off the path for a gent and his dog that were in a bottle neck between two fence gates.... They went SLOW while my leg started in on the burning sensation.

Another hundred yards and I was at a staircase where I could sit for a few. Found a dry patch on the second stair and collapsed.

Five minutes later, I tap, tap, tapped my way back to our condo. I did get to wave at the HOA president. Nice guy, stuck in a tough spot.

Back home finally. It's time to go warm up the left over pizza from last night and take a tylenol.

Happy Birthday Tom! Hope you enjoy your day.

I was mistaaken about my next CT scan. It's not until Thursday. I'm glad I double checked. I was also going over all of my on-line medical records. While they included a note about each of the three CT scans I had while a patient, they didn't upload any of the images! WTF?

I had to call radiology and ask why, but she didn't have a reason. She said she would make me a disc with each of the three scans included. I guess I better mention this Thursday when I go for the fourth scan. Said I could pick up the disc at the front desk when I come Thursday.

da Eggles!
That is exactly how many in Philly say it!
I am a great fan of Frank Marino
My question is; why is he so underappreciated? Or I should say why don't we hear him on the radio? Even the great classic rock station 98.5 Rocky 98 in York PA who plays the largest variety I have ever head on a classic rock station over looks him. They play Ram Jam's Black Betty (I love that song) not many stations do, but no Frank Marino.
