Good Morning All. Mostly cloudy and 65° to get our day started here. The cooler weather that was forecast for the next few days has been changed to warmer weather instead.

A welcome respite today, as it's the first day this week that I don't have to go someplace! One disadvantage about living on the edge of civilization is that everything is at least 12 miles away, with major stuff being 25 miles away. My dentist, pharmacy, bank and several very good restaurants are in the city 12 miles away, while doctors, grocery stores and Home Depot are all 25 miles. There is a convenience store/gas place that does sell beer just 6 miles down the road, but they charge highly for the beer although the gas is usually cheaper than the city places. This means that every trip takes an additional 30-60 minutes travel time.
Yesterday's grocery trek went well, wife went along and we split the store making the trip a lot quicker. Later I finished mowing the east side of the yard. Today I tackle the south side and hopefully the back yard. It takes a while to mow 3 acres with all of the obstructions, trees, pool, woodpiles, yard furniture etc., generally 3-4 hours split over a few days. Yesterday I also spent 20 minutes or so mowing along our side of the county road out front since they seem to have forgotten that our end of the road still exists. I do 240' in front of our house every 3-4 weeks, but yesterday I went 100' south since the very high grass was blocking the view of oncoming traffic when leaving our access road; even with our higher view from an SUV. Sometimes one of my retired neighbors mows that part, but he has been working part-time lately and hasn't done it. Sadly, he is 80 years old, but worked off the books for so much of his career that his SS is minimal! Like many others, he never figured out that it would affect the SS check in later years.

I did what I planned out in the train shed yesterday, repaired a few of the well cars with the broken ladders. Those that I found the parts for. I am going to have to fabricate a couple more, or just turn them around so that the broken side can't be seen. We'll see how much trouble making new ones is.

Michael - Couldn't agree more regarding the worst tasting beer in America, except Coors Light!
Troy -
I joined in hopes of finding a knowledgeable teaching community.
And what's wrong with this group here???;) Just kidding of course, I couldn't resist.
Swal - I don't golf or go to country clubs. But at my SIL's country club, he can call a mobile number and a young lady will come to whatever hole you are on, with a refrigerated golf cart loaded with various beverages; beer, wine or liquor. It can either go on your monthly bill, a credit card, or cash! Rather convenient.

Everyone have a great Friday.

I suspect you have self sufficiency options to a tea, being that far out

Edit and yes I know it is not like your off the map, just away from shoulder to shoulder
When we left our last home it was a semi detached in a big estate, we had a usually large garden 1/3 acre which for an ex council house is massive.
We now live on a single lane well away from others by comparison, not yo ur distance but I do miles to doctors, and shops and am quite content, during Covid we were lucky that not being ok to leave our property gave us a lot of freedom, although some friends in homes especially flats dis]d not fair so well.

Good morning from Wisconsin. 58f degrees now heading to a surprising 85. We shall reach the 80’s the next few days.

Volleyball on campus tonight at 6 as UW open their Big Ten season schedule. It should be fun. The UW hockey women are in Bemidji, Minnesota at 7 and we will know the scores at VB as they will post each one

I’m not sure how the early part of the day will play out. Terry and I disagree about me tearing down the layout and starting over. She says I won’t start another one and truthfully she probably is correct. But doing nothing isn’t helping either.

I see Amazon has to pay out $2.5 billion to settle a deceptive practices case for supposedly getting people to sign up for Prime. Don’t people read the stuff they sign up for. To me it’s like saying be aware coffee is hot when you buy HOT coffee!

Enjoy your day
Tom: If you are only lowering the current level, that would not be starting over ... right?

Beautiful day starting out. First morning below 50....46.
I have 2 tables at a swap meet tomorrow to get rid of extra train stuff. I've been in a reduction of stuff stage since I retired.

Put in the order for the benchwork build, and wait for them to get too far along before you tear out the old layout. That way you guilt yourself into it.

You see some do and some don’t my software is having a total fit
I upload 10 and am lucky if one is ok
I am on an old iPad and have Googled and found no easy fix
I’ll stop uploading here as it is irritating apologies
There are techies here that can help you figure it out so you don't stop posting. I like seeing your stuff, but I have to rotate my screen sometimes. 😁

Good Morning All!
47F @ 48% with partly. Maybe 70F later.

Not much from me today. Need to go and see my VSO at the armory noon:30 ish.

Porch roof should get on, then I can paint so the girl can put windows in the Chicken/Goat thingie. Once it is enclosed, we can move the other materials inside and do the ceilings and walls when we want to. No Chickens until spring, so have some time...

Maria bought a 4' door and came day before yesterday. UPS gal actually got it to the front of the truck where I helped get it out and to our deck. Thing weighed 100Lbs. I wondered why it didn't go out the back; she pointed and I looked - crammed to the top of the truck with boxes. She said that this load was the biggest she had ever seen. I mean, this IS Libby, right? This is a barn door type; slides on a railing above for open/close. Ya, shed is framed for standard 4' door. Hoop Jump! Now I need to figure out how to [somewhat] insulate the thing for cold weather. Blue Eyed Blond Girl that thinks everything is easy. Anyway, I guess that we can build a door casing for it if all else fails. She did do good, this one was $180 vs the $500 at the local places. We do have to put it together, so went and got a pair of pipe clamps. Well, kinda. Ace had the end crank/holder thingies, but their pipe cutter was broken. So off to Pival for pipe, got two 5' pieces of 1/2 galvi. Think I am into the clamps for ~$55.00.

I am reconsidering the garage build next summer. Think I want a summer off just for screwing off....

The word incorrectly is spelled incorrectly in every dictionary!

Not after they've been through so many hands! I don't think I can afford to lose 10 more pounds! :)

Last time I had a major virus, I went down to about 110. They gave me a giant purple pill to kill it.

But, if they come in a bag labeled as shrimp chips, I'd bite!
They probably haven’t been through any hands. They come in big bags and they just dump them into your box.

I’ve done it and didn’t get sick.

So the pictures have an orientation flag embedded in them so that display software that obeys the flag will look okay regardless of how the real orientation is but some software doesn’t obey the orientation flag and you get the upside down shots.

That’s not always the reason but often is.

From what I remember, the issue with Amazon was they enticed you to purchase something for a great price, but buried in the fine print at the bottom of page 3 was something informing you that completing the purchase committed you to a Prime membership. Once people realized it after getting their cards dinged for the membership fee, they then discovered it was nearly impossible to cancel.
