One of several reasons that I switched to a tankless water heater five or six years ago. But my water also comes from a well about a mile and a half away, and it is all plastic pipes from there to me. No metallic corrosion or debris. I even changed out all of my own pipes from copper to PEX flexible pipe.
Do you need to filter well water?

Some of my model railroad order came today. A caboose and 2 signals. More stuff on the way. Swal

Do you need to filter well water?
Depends what kind of well it is and how far you are from it.

In Massachusetts we had a private well in our backyard that was pretty deep and we had no filter excepts one sediment filters. It was awesome hard water.

Some wells that aren't as deep may get ground water leakage, or more importantly, if they are shared well with a lot of piping etc you may get leaked if contaminants in the piping and distribution etc. But it shouldn't otherwise have the normal chemicals in it that you'd expect in normal municipal water unless on a shared system they add them.

And I may not know what I'm talking about.

When I was setting up my automatic watering system, there was a lot of mention about anti-drain back valves, especially if adding an automatic feeder. I didn't think it was needed since the muni water had high pressure, but maybe a well system may not?
In the US, anti-drain back systems are required by code in many if not most areas for your lawn and outdoor watering systems.

Good morning all!

Currently 62F heading up to a high of 79F. They say some scattered rain showers later this afternoon. They also said that yesterday
and not a drop fell.

Just a few household chores to get done today. Garbage/recycle cans need to get out to the curb, and a load of laundry needs to
get done. I picked the house up yesterday.

Not much else going on here which is good!

Volleyball last night was a win in 2 sets for us. We pretty much rolled thru them. Tonight is going to be tougher. A bigger school. It is
also away, so travel and dinner somewhere on the way home.

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

66° and cloudy, rain on most of my trip into the office this morning. Started at the house about 2:20, when the storm watch radio went off adding our county to an existing and updated watch. Looked like we had an inch or so in the gauge from inside the house. It was storming and I wasn't going out to check...

Weather is finally cooling down. Didn't run my AC last night and left the windows open. Just ran fans all day today.

Put together some British steamer lamps made of white metal. Had to drill holes in the front and bottom and glue in a 603 warm white LED.

Will need to figure out how to mount these and which locos to use them on. DC is easy, just add a resistor. DCC is more difficult as my next18 decoders do not have a solder pad and the loco's motherboard doesn't either.

Good morning all. A cold, dry day. Flo. A large coffee on the go please. I have a mini-shop to do before oldest grandson visits after school.

Some people here know I love ships and shipping.

This ship looks xxxxxx awful imo.
