Our meat has also escalated enormously, plus our bird food corn/wheat is only marginal. So I do not see that as much of a factor. I do not think the farmers are benefitingWell howdy there internet peeps and those looking for a late night show to host.
It's troy again.
Just back from a grocery run. Decided I wanted to grill some steaks tonight. Wife agreed.
I haven't been paying attention to prices when I shop. But WOW has beef gone up. I'm trying to figure out why we import so much from Brazil if Texas and Oklahoma are filled with beef cattle?
I remember being able to get a 12 oz sirloin for $8 US... It was $15 today!
Worded some words this morning. In the mood to word more, but not sure what comes next. So I'll probably go take a stroll to let the grey matter percolate some plot lines.
It is birthdays from now right through to December, in our family as well as wedding anniversaries.September seems to be quite the month for weddings! And they seem to last! In 2 days my 83 year old aunt is getting married to a retired truckdriver that doesn't play with trains.
We went with in-wall tanks and wall mounted. Easier to clean and more room.Wow, that's small. When I designed my house, I went with a tankless toilet so that it could be moved further back and give us a little bit more space in our toilet room. In Japan, the toilet is separate from the bath.
Some countries call it a water closet or WC. Ours is definitely a closet.
(oops, forgot to hit post reply...)
I read an article that said one of the culprits is that the herd size is at a real low. Hasn’t been this low in like forever.I haven't been paying attention to prices when I shop. But WOW has beef gone up. I'm trying to figure out why we import so much from Brazil if Texas and Oklahoma are filled with beef cattle?
Yeah we hit 25 this year in August as well. Got started lateMarried: Geesh, we are at 25 years which does not seem like a long time compared to some of you!
All very true, especially #3!TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:
(1) They live here. You don't.
(2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture.
(3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people..
(4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.
I got a late start as well.Yeah we hit 25 this year in August as well. Got started late
Yeah but from what I read yesterday it’s not translating into increased profits. Their costs have gone up and supply is constrained by low herd size.Beef: farmers here enjoying record prices for beef. Pork is the opposite, as well as corn and soybeans.
When you say rib do you mean ribeye? We pay an average 32 to 35 £ that is plus 1.5 conversion to dollars so 49 dollars a kilo or 2.2ibGood Morning All!
48F @ 70% - time for the '32 Heat' stuff. Maybe 84F later. Next week however....
Taxes: We are at $1600 for 1700ft, on shy 3 acres with two additional outbuildings. The creek on the West portion of the property bumps the would be original 1300 to 1600... Geesh, no fish in it either; go figure.
Almost time for putting the roof on the Chicken/Goat barn. Had to make a trip to HD in Ponderay for stuff we did not get enough of. Ya, nother $1000 but that did include 5 Gallons of stain. Hope to have the shell sealed up by Monday. That way, I do not have to pay for help as we can do the interior stuff. Maria keeps grinning more and more! I think we still are under $7000 for a 12'x24' building. Smaller pre-built stuff ( 8' x 16' usually ) is going for $9000 to $11,000, un-finished interior; no insulation or wall coverings AND that does not include delivery. Don't remember ifn I told you or not, found experienced 14' metal roofing. Got 28 sheets of the stuff for $500. Deal! Ya, know it is more than needed right now: Garage in the works next year me thinks.
Meat: It has been nasty around here. Saw Strip Steak for $13, Rib for $17 the other day in our monopoly grocery store. And those cuts were Choice. Select is a tad lower, but crappy ( to me ). If you remember, I usually do Cash-n-Carry ( now Chef's Store ) for meat. Ya, that ended when we went the the not so local butcher store ( Spokane ) and asked about bagged ribeye. They call it 'bagged', which is a whole ribeye. Got it for $8.65 and it is real close to Prime. You should see the marble in it. Yup, cut 1" steaks and got 18 out of it with some chunk left over - darn the luck. We went to that butcher for their fresh liver and I asked about rib price. When they showed me the cut and told me the price, totally forgot getting the liver; it was an 'almost p'd my pants' syndrome moment! Did remember the liver by the time we hit Sandpoint on the way home...
Married: Geesh, we are at 25 years which does not seem like a long time compared to some of you!

i get low blood pressure sometimes barely a hundred over not quite 60. for me it is not drinking enough, plus I was persuaded by the NHS to avoid salt, and often forget to add it to food, and rarely eat food with it already added. so I often have to think eat some salt and drink some water! Bending over can leave me dizzy at times.Property taxes... I'd rather not talk about it. Baltimore City’s property tax rate is one of the highest among major U.S. cities, dramatically higher than most of its peers.
My posts have been few and far between. I'm struggling with fatigue and low blood pressure. But I have read many of the posts. I wish you all the best!
Now back to baseball.![]()
